Here is an idea for someone looking to write an interesting article for a 
caving newsletter:


List in chronological order by historical date of interesting things that 
happened in the caving world along with photos and maps and diagrams.   Even 
better, make it a web-page with hyperlinks.


Here is an example:


What happened on the date below:


     September 12, 1940




I bet someone has already done most of the leg-work.   There is probably even a 
book or books with interesting historical info.
