It seems plausible that the Thai boys entered the cave with pre-existing
conditions. And that they went in already malnourished.

The limits to their immune-system were likely pushed beyond anything normal
people have ever experienced ( something like trench-warfare ).

They had no earthly idea they were going to live for 2 weeks. They had to
choose between dying of starvation or purposely drowning themselves or
killing one another with a rock ( if they could find one ). It is
plausible they discussed this amongst themselves. ***Imagine hearing all
your best friends dying very very slowly in total darkness
simultaneously.***

Another day or 2 of that and not knowing and not eating would have been
detremental to their moral to live.

Add that stress and more to that and that they had open flesh wounds ( cuts
and scrapes ), pneumonia, barefooted, no blanket, feces from agriculture
and possiblly bats and birds upstream, their own feces, extremophiles, and
dust in the air and more.

They all need intense medical care out of precaution including things like
colonoscopies and exposure to radon.

If any were to die next week, their doctors and whoever releases them will
get shamed publically.

Ironically, 100s of people died tragically in Asia this week.

If I were in their hospital bed, I would want grits with cheese, butter and
bacon bits and black pepper all day long. And a tablespoon of MaltoMeal,
and strawberry jello with peach cubes. And cranberry juice.
