Here is a map of the route from Dallas to Cookeville.

That is 11.5 hours confined in a car with your dog,
or beloved friend, or both, and hopefully not with
some crazy smelly guy that talks non-sensical things for 11.5
hours, nor sings karaoke most of the way.
For me personally, I could not drive to Texarkana without having
to get motel. Any kind of mechanical breakdown in my Sequoia
would be devastating to my futile plan to rebound. So that
option, is not on the table. And I doubt, you could pay The
Mystery Caver, a million dollars, to take me on a road-trip again.
So that option is not on the table. Then there is the tiny detail
about not having funds to be at any kind of convention, much
less buy a new Stenlight, or caving gear. But missing 2-1/2 conventions
in the past three years, is just too much of a bummer.
I assume at least 30 Texas cavers ( or at least former Texas cavers ) will
be there,
and that someone will set up the traditional Groad Hollow Camp.
