So Bill, is a Branton Compass a Bentley Compass? Mine are of the original “Brunton” design, with the two slots on the side for the Brunton Mount. Even my Ainsworth and my K&E and my military units had that slot on the side. I have also seen a “Brunson” compass and some of the eBay units may claim all sorts of heritage, including “I don’t know anything about this precision instrument” which translates to “This is a fake or reproduction, but don’t blame me cause I know nothing…”.
