I have had old AT&T basic internet service at my office, which is located
in an old commercial building.

A salesman called a month ago alleging AT&T is replacing their old copper
wire in the building with fiber. I did not authorize anything. They
said to just be present on August date, and they just needed to swap the
modem. They claimed no additional charges. Their tech never showed,
after waiting around for two days.

He finally showed up today, spending nearly the entire day in my office.

I have now missed 3 days of work ( I make money delivering subpoenas,
meaning driving - not sitting in the office ).

I have been trying all afternoon to straighten out the new mess. Not
only are now they billing me for two separate business accounts now, but
the new fiber account is more expensive.

I am at the same store where I signed up for the initial service, and they
say that I must call customer service, which is overseas call center.

They claim that they have no computer history of the so-called
free-upgrade, and nobody ever asked me for new account pin number. From
their perspective, I am committed and responsable for 2 accounts.

In addition, they say I am responsable for mailing the old modem back to
AT&T.

If I ran my subpoena-delivery business this way, I would be out of business
in less than 24 hours.

Somehow, I got scammed by AT&T and I feel very ripped off.

I should have sensed something wrong when the tech showed up today telling
me that there was no fiber. But I seemed already committed by that point.
