I have arranged for us to meet to discuss the next steps we must take to contest the permit to discharge wastewater into Honey Creek. *When: Monday, October 7, 2019* * 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.* *Where: Mammen Family Public Library, 131 Bulverde Crossing, Bulverde, TX 78163* The draft agenda will include: - Obtaining legal representation - Fundraising for legal representation - Organizing for the cause - Create a Save Honey Creek committee? (Please send additional agenda items to me at [email protected]) At this time, I have nothing to report except that we have a great start on fundraising. *A generous anonymous donor has pledged to match all donations of $100 or more – up to $15,000.* (Yea!) If we meet this pledge to match funds, we will have $30,000 - a good beginning for a fighting chance. For those of us interested in protecting Honey Creek, it is time to get organized. As previously noted, the discharge point is upstream of Honey Creek State Natural Area and Guadalupe State Park. There was so much great testimony at the TCEQ public meeting objecting to direct discharge of sewage effluent into Honey Creek due to the high potential of negative impacts to this crystal clear water.
