These conversations about John Fish, who I never met, but heard a lot
about....with more from Carl, Bill Elliot, Dr. Ford, and others, remind me of a
short caving story Logan McNatt told me last year.
Logan was on the last survey trip to Sotano de Arroyo, pretty sure it was
Arroyo and not Tinaja. Pete Strickland was in the lead in the water passage.
Logan and others were behind and starting to suffer from bad air. They yelled
up to Pete it was time to turn around.
Pete yelled back, "BUT, IT GOES!" Logan said that is still a going lead and no
one has been there since. If I remember correctly, Logan said at the time the
cave was not only the longest in Mexico at 6 klicks, about 4 miles, but also
the deepest.

Hard Hats Off and Carbide Lights Lit, for our old friends.

Preston in Browder, KY, who well remembers the El Abra, but has only been a
short way inside Arroyo around Thanksgiving or Christmas, 1974.
