I am sad to report that Jim Sansom, distinguished Austin geologist was lost to covid last week. He was a friend of cavers going back to the1960's As a young geologist working for the Texas Highway department he was there when the core hole into Inner Space caverns was drilled and he was the second person lowered into the cave. He was very active in the Austin geologic community and many of us younger folks knew him thru the AGS. He was the "Grand old man" of the Edwards in that area and will be missed
