Hi,

Thanks for your work. I'm not a Mac user myself but I think that this way of packaging applications can be of great help for a lot of users. What do you think about transforming this bundle to klik (klik.berlios.de) or zero install (0install.net)?. Your experience could be valuable in guiding another people interested in this kind of alternative packaging for Linux.

Sorry,

for the late answer. I think klik should be fairly simple, in fact one could just use the static version of TeXmacs.

That is good news... I will be waiting :). (documentation about how to build klik packages is not much detailed at the moment)

As for zero install, I do not really see the point here. It seems to me like a subproject of the rox filemanager. Are you using this?

Yes. I have used it and its pretty awesome. Its a project from the same autor of rox filer but is not only related with it. In fact 0install works on any Linux flavor with python on it for the packages in this format and resolve dependencies and alternative versions of packages in a nice way. The examples in the page are with rox, but its not necesary for ZI to work.

Cheers,

Offray
