Yes, this tree thing is maybe one reason that lets me try TeXmacs a bit further. But I only have limited time and there is to read a lot first.

The function (xmlize-tree) in the code I posted
two days ago contains everything you need to
know about traversing TeXmacs document represented
as trees. Did you already had a look (and perhaps
have questions) ?
