Hi Norbert, The indentation issue is a complex and, since ten years, I still did not find the time to handle these things correctly: e.g. using the PARA tag, which indicates a paragraph unit (no indentation) instead of a paragraph (indentation).
Some environements are usually included in paragraph units: equation, eqnarray*, itemize, etc., whereas others are not: theorem, big-figure, etc. This explains the difference in the behaviour you noticed. Of course, the default decision may not always be the right one: a list environment might correspond to an entire paragraph. In that case, you currently have the possible to use no-indent and yes-indent.
