I've just checked and the native file dialog on mac offer preview for
image files. So i think we could just simply stick to the native one.
The dialog with the image viewer is quite ugly on the mac.

Ok,
I'll switch open/save file to native look.
I'll try to hack around the limitation in inserting widgets to
native dialogs, but it looks like we'll have to go for either of the
following:
A non-portable, fragile (with respect to QT updates) solution.
A custom, based on the usual QT dialog, solution.
A more "innovative" solution, maybe similar to what I proposed.
By the way, what do you make of my proposal: make TeXmacs documents
sort of "project-like", with embedded information about directories
where to find, for now images, but possibly other stuff, like
related scripts or source code to be inserted or used by plugins
like maxima or otherwise?

Hi Miguel,
I don't know a good solution to your dilemma; it seems like choosing
between two evils. I am also disappointed, because the native file
browser
under MacOS should at least offer me the usual preview facility as
in Finder.
If you can manage to get at least that working, then this would be
sufficient;
the width/height/etc. handles become less important after the
current reorganizations.
Best wishes, --Joris
