Well,

  it's actually not a crash but more of a "temperamental exit", so, and this
would just be a temporary hack, commenting out line 360 of
src/src/Texmacs/Server/tm_server.cpp (the one that reads FAILED("invalid
situation")) would at least prevent texmacs from dying/committing suicide on
you.
