A recent post at trac-users mailing list reminded me of a promise I gave last year: To review current user rename solutions [2] and create a similar, possibly more intelligent/modular functionality for use with AccountManagerPlugin [3]. The ultimate goal is to bundle related functionality for convenience. So I've applied for response on cooperation/adoption to maintain and probably integrate code into AccountManagerPlugin for renaming Trac users [4]. RenameTracUsersScript [5], tagged with 'needsadoption', and RenameUserPlugin [6], tagged as 'unfinished' are another candidates to consider as well [7][8]. I'd be happy to obsolete all three in the end. Comments and suggestions welcome.
