A very good concept mucked up by group of Politicians, engineers and police department, though people in general could also share the blame. In India and particularly in Delhi, following the traffic rules is rather an exception than a rule. Notwithstanding the CAG report, no one was keen to understand the system and follow it. Both traffic police and drivers of various modes of vehicle never understood the importance of following the lane system. In a country where people graduate from cycle to two wheeler to cars still have a mentality of two wheelers. Cut corners, keep changing the lanes and bad policing (good for making money)
