*Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar*(Tamil<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_language>: அரியகுடி ராமானுஜ ஐயங்கார்) (1890-1967) or more popularly simply called as * Ariyakudi* was born in Ariyakudi<http://en.wikipedia..org/w/index.php?title=Ariyakudi&action=edit&redlink=1>a town in the Karaikudi <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karaikudi> district of Tamil Nadu<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_Nadu>, South India <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_India> in the year 1890. Ariyakudi was a Carnatic Music <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnatic_Music> vocalist <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocalist> and is known for his unique style. He made his debut at Tyagaraja Aradhana in 1918. His unique style of singing came to be known as *The Ariyakudi Tradition* and is followed by his students. The doyen of Carnatic Music, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semmangudi_Srinivasa_Iyer>is known to have remarked "I was greatly influenced by Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar.
