Moni Mohsin writes a popular column called '*Diary* of a *Social Butterfly*' for Pakistan's Friday Times (chief editor Mr Nazam Sethi,
She is the author of The End of Innocence. <http://www.thefridaytimes.com/beta3/tft/20120831/large-p-31-a.jpg> This girl, this child, Rimsha, who's been accused of blasphemy, I'm so upset by her case na. It's been reported all over the world and it's given us such a bad name. I want to ask Janoo that why are all these foreign reporters and human rights wallahs always trying to blacken our name, haan? Always reporting bad, bad things about us and spoiling our good repute. Yesterday it was murder of a bus load of Shias, before that it was terrorist attack on some air force base where I think so they were saying there might also have been some nucular bombs, today it is Rimsha and the Christians. Last year it was about Osama being found here. Remember what a big fuss they made? Taubah, taubah. Also that chhota sa incidence at Mehran Base? That also made international news. And Salmaan Taseer's killing. And also Shahbaz Bhatti's. And of the Ahmadis in that mosque? Between you, me and the four walls, I think so there's some sort of conspiracy against us. Mujhay tau lagta hai, rest of world doesn't like to see us patriotic Pakistanis so happy and doing so well mashallah se. Now just look at our khush haali. Every house has satellite TV, every house is blessed with nine nine children, every house has a generator (at least every house in Defence), every house has at least one Kalashnikov, if not a rocket launcher. That's why every little bad thing that happens here, they ucchhalo it so much. I think so maybe they're all jealous of us. Jealous of our nucular bombs. Jealous of our baba-e-bum, AQ Khan. Jealous of our loving relationship with Talibans. I want to ask Janoo that why they're so jealous but I can't. Because you know him na. Always flying off the candle at the least evocation. Don't tell anyone but I think so he's become as bad as a human rights wallah. Imagine! So instead I called Mulloo. And she said that I mustn't worry because everyone knows that none of these bad things are really happening. They're happening but we're not doing them. It's the Hidden Hand. Them and the Americans. Because everyone knows that Muslims can't kill each other. 'But what about Syria?' I asked her. 'Thats different. I'm talking about here. Everything is fine and it's unpatriotic to say different. Our Pak fauj is looking after us and we just have to be proud Pakistanis and it will all go away of it's own. Bus, just remember that, okay?' -- With best wishes S Chander
