Thanks to Narayanan Hariharan : Grahastas and the kaavi (காவி) veshti(brownish yellow/orange) colour ? COLOUR OF THE VESHTI : (Taken from the FAQ section of the English book 'THE GREAT HINDU TRADITION') Question: Can grahastas (married men) wear veshti in kaavi (brownish yellow/orange) colour? Answer: No. Kaavi vastra is meant for Sanyasa ashram. It should not be worn by generally a grahasta. Even while observing some vrata, kaavi to be avoided. If there is a need for a colour vastram, one can use a colour other than kaavi. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
