16 . SIVA YUVA GURU. The rushis living in Naimichaaranyam were sad at heart. Though they all chanted the Vedas regularly, none of them knew the secret and sacred meanings of the Vedas!
A great tapasvi Arabaththar visited them once. He was truly a mahaan who had got rid of his ego and pride completely. He wanted to know what made the rushis sad at heart. “We do not know the meaning of the sacred Vedas. We are in search of a suitable guru. Can you please help us to find a guru?” Arabaththar told them, “Lord Siva gave the world the four Vedas. He is the only person qualified to impart its meanings. The most suitable city for this quest is Madhuraapuri. Siva appears there as Lord Dakshinaamoorthy-the yuva guru. Madhuraapuri is the dwaadasaantha kshethram of the cosmic Virat Purushan. In a man it lies 12 inches above his Bramarandram-the soft spot on the top of the skull. In the Soma Sundareswara temple, to the southern side of the Indra vimaanam, Lord Siva sits under a stone tree as Siva yuva guru- the Dakshinaamoorthy. He is the right guru who can clear all your doubts”. All the rushis thanked Arabaththar and left for Madhuraapuri. They took a holy dip in the Pond of golden lotuses. They prostrated in front of the deity and sat near the statue of Dakshinaamoorthy. The uththama guru was so young and his disciples so old! His language was pure silence and yet His very presence cleared all the doubts in the mind of his disciples! The rushis started chanting the Medhaa manthram, in the prescribed manner, in the most auspicious time of the day. They started their vratham and quest for knowledge on a Kaarthigai full moon day and continued till the next Kaarthigai full moon day, for a year!. They performed japam, homam, brahmana bhojanam and everything that would help their cause. The minds of the rushis were mellowing with this tapas into the proper receptive mood. God knew that the appropriate time had come for disclosing the sacred meanings of the Vedas to the rushis. He appeared as the Siva yuva guru! He looked not a day older than 16 years of age! His lovely forehead was adorned by the holy ashes. His lovely shoulder was adorned by the holy poonool. His lovely face was adorned by a pleasant smile. His lovely chest as adorned with rudraaksha maalas. In his lovely hands he held pavithram and the palm leaf manuscripts . <http://groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/worldmalayaliclub/> *வாழிய செந்தமிழ்! வாழ்க நற்றமிழர்!* *வாழிய பாரதமணித் திருநாடு!* [image: Right ☯ no buy ever !!!] *V A N A K K A M S U B B U * [image: 5HLRltELRTuhFyJ0_ouiDnr_qDYmmw6GZkgZJNMUnLUn39M_vn79dw==.gif] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
