Lord Krishna - the escort

Once upon a time, a little boy named Jatil lived with his widowed mother at the
edge of a forest. His mother was poor but very pious woman. When he was five,
his mother decided to send him to school which was on the other end of the
forest. Little Jatil was afraid to go alone since the forest was dense and
dark. But his mother told that there was nothing to worry about. His elder
brother Madhusudan lives in the forest and he will help him any time he wanted.
Jatil was surprised since he didn't know he had an elder brother. But he
trusted his mother and set off to school. He was very excited to go to the
school and had a nice day there. While returning home in the late afternoon, he
was very scared. So he desperately called his brother Madhusudan to help him
out. Suddenly, he heard a beautiful tune on flute and a dark handsome teenager
boy appeared appeared before him. Jatil was elated to see his brother
Madhusudan and the latter walked him to his home safely.

Since then, whenever Jatil was lonely and afraid, he used to call Madhusudan
and he would find himself in a safe company. One day, there was a feast in the
school and Jatil was given the responsibility to bring curd for everyone. Since
they were poor, Jatil was worried and asked Madhusudan to help him out.
Madhusudan brought him a tiny pot of curd on the day of the feast. Jatil was
nervous but Madhusudan assured him that, that would be enough for everyone.
However, the headmaster was not happy to see the tiny pot and rebuked Jatil for
ruining the feast. In the end, he decided to distribute it to few students.
Amazingly, the pot refilled itself every time it was finished. It was the most
delicious curd and everyone was overjoyed. The headmaster was cynical and he
thought that Jatil was playing some trick. Jatil told him about his brother
Madhusudan but the headmaster did not believe him. When he failed to convince,
he cried out in despair to Madhusudan. Once again, the beautiful flute tune was
heard but no one appeared. Instead a divine voice addressing the headmaster was
heard:

You'll never see me. Your mind is full of illusions and mistrust, even towards
a little boy. This little boy had simple but firm faith in me and never doubted
it.

Both of them were awestruck and realized that it was Lord Krishna who
benevolently appeared before Jatil as his brother Madhusudan.
