37. PUSHING CHOZHAN INTO A POND. Sundaresa Paada Sekaran was born in the lineage of Rajendra Paandian. He was peace loving by nature. He maintained a very small army with just ten chariots, one hundred elephants, one thousand horsemen and ten thousand soldiers. Kaverich Chozhan was attracted by the prospect of easy victory over the Pandian. So he descended on Pandian with a large army. Sundara Paada Sekaran prayed to Siva,”I rely more on you than my own army. Don’t you know this my lord? Won’t you save me my people?” Siva replied, ” I myself will appear in the battlefield to help you!” The limited army of the Paandian marched on to the battle field. Siva appeared as a hunter. He rode on the Vedas transformed into a horse, leading the army. He wore ornaments made of Ivory on his ears and wrists. He wore peacock feather on his hair and held a terrifying spear in his hand. Chozha got frightened by the sight of this unknown warrior. He rode away in an effort to escape. The hunter who was Siva disappeared. So Paandiyan chased the Chozhan. When Chozhan saw that the mighty hunter has disappeared he started chasing the Paandian. Now it was Paandian’s turn to try to escape. He rode towards Madurai very fast and fell into a pond. Chozha who was chasing the Paandian also fell into the pond. Paandian came out unhurt while Chozhan got killed by the fall. Paandian took over the army of Chozha. His charitable acts continued as before. *வாழிய செந்தமிழ்! வாழ்க நற்றமிழர்!* *வாழிய பாரதமணித் திருநாடு!* * V A N A K K A M S U B B U * -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
