Thirukolur Penpillai Rahasyam 15
*ஏதேனும் என்றேனோ குலசேகரர் போலே*
கொல்லிநகரான கருவூர் திருவஞ்சிக்களம் என்னும் ஊரில் பிறந்தவர் குலசேகர ஆழ்வார்.
குலசேகர ஆழ்வார் நால்வகைப் படை கொண்டு பகைவர்களை வென்று நீதிநெறி பிறழாமல்
செங்கோல் செலுத்திக்*கொல்லி* நகரை அரசாண்டு வந்தார். இவருக்கு இறைவன் காட்சி
தந்தமையால் இன்பமும், செல்வமும், அரசாட்சியும் தமக்கு வேண்டாமென்று துறவினை
மேற்கொண்டார்.
குலசேகர ஆழ்வார், திருவேங்கடமுடையான் மேல் பாடிய திருப்பதிகத்தில்
"எம்பெருமான் பொன்மலை மேல் ஏதேனும் ஆவேனே!",என்றார்.
செடியாய வல்வினைகள் தீர்க்கும் திருமாலே
நெடியானே வேங்கடவா நின் கோயிலின் வாசல்
அடியாரும் வானவரும் அரம்பையரும் கிடந்தியங்கும்
படியாய்க் கிடந்து உன் பவளவாய் காண்பேனே!
"திருவேங்கடவா, உன் கோயிலின் வாசலில் அடியவர்களும் வானவர்களும் அரம்பையர்களும்
வந்து உன்னைக் காணுமாறு ஒரு படியாய்க் கிடந்து உன் பவளவாய் காண்பேனே" - என்ற
வரிகளின் வழி,குலசேகர ஆழ்வார், தன்னிலை எதுவாகினும், தான் திருமலையில் இருந்து
அனுதினமும் திருவேங்கடவனை காண விழைவதை விவரித்துள்ளார்.
குலசேகர ஆழ்வாரின் தூய பக்தியை மனதில் கொண்டு இறைவனை நிதமும் பக்தர்கள்
தரிசிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகவே, திவ்ய தேசத்துஇன்றும் வெங்கடேசப்
பெருமாள் கோவிலின்
கருவறைப்படி "குலசேகரப் படி" என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. இவர் திருவேங்கடவனிடம்
இவ்வாறு வேண்டிநின்றாலும் ஆண்டவன் எங்கும் நீக்கமற நிறைந்திருப்பவன் என்ற
காரணத்தால் ஸ்ரீரங்கநாதன் கோயிலிலும் கர்ப்பகிருகம் முன்னிருக்கும் படி
குலசேகரன் படி என்று அழைக்கப்படுவதைப் பார்க்கலாம்.
தன் பாசுரங்களின் வழியாக, குலசேகர ஆழ்வார் திருமலை வேங்கடமுடையான் மேல்
கொண்டுள்ள பக்தியை, அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார். வேங்கடமுடையானுக்கு மிக
அருகில் நின்று,அனுதினமும் அவரை தரிசிக்கும் தன் மனதின் ஆவலை, தவிப்பை பாசுரம்
வாயிலாக கூறியுள்ளார்.
திருக்கோளூர் அம்மாள், "குலசேகர ஆழ்வார் போல் இறைவனைக் காண எண்ணினேனா?", என்று
வினவுகிறார்.

*EdhEnum enREnO kulasEkarar pOlE*
Kulasekhara Azhwar (seventh of the twelve Azhwars, was the second known
ruler of the Cera Perumal kingdom of Cranganore (*c.* 800—1124 AD). Modern
historians assume that he ruled Kerala between 844 — 883 AD from Makotai,
modern Cranganore. He left the throne and his kingdom after seeing Lord
Rama and continued his service towards the lord for the rest of his life!
Being an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, he considered the painful experiences
of Rama to be his own. He is therefore also known as 'Perumal', meaning
'The Great' – an epithet for god Rama. His devotion was so intense that he
worshiped the devotees as forms of Vishnu.
Kulasekhara Azhwar's verses are called Perumal Thirumozhi. In this work, he
has sung a padhigam on Thiruvengadamudaiyan - "UnERu selvaththu" - Perumal
Thirumozhi 4. In these pasurams, he expresses his desire to be born in any
fashion on the divine mountain of Thirumalai. He asks that he be born as a
bird, a fish, a tree, a pathway, a river, etc on the mountain. He also
prays that he be born as the doorstep to the temple of the Lord - this is
why the inner doorstep of Divyadesa temples is called "Kulasekaran Padi".
He finally asks that he be born as anything on Thirumalai –
"emperumAn ponmalai mEl
EdhEnum AvEnE".
In this relation, Anandazhvan mentioned the following: "EdhEnum means
Azhwar is ready to even lose his true nature of being subservient to the
Lord and become the Lord Himself if it means that he could be on Thirumalai
hills."
Bhattar said "EdhEnum means, let Azhwar not know who or what he is, let
even the Lord not know who or what he is, let no one know or praise him -
just let him be something on Thirumalai so that he could get to see the
Lord, all the time".
Thirukkolur Ammal is asking "Did I wish to be always on Thirumalai like
Kulasekhara Azhwar did?"
