*உயிராய பெற்றேனோ ஊமையைப் போலேஇராமானுஜரின் மடத்தில் வாய் பேச முடியாத ஒருவர்
இருந்தார். தன்னால் முடிந்த சேவைகளை இராமானுஜருக்கும் அவரது சீடர்களுக்கும்
செய்து வந்தார். ஒருநாள், இராமானுஜர் அவரை ஒரு தனியறைக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றார்.
தனது பாதுகைகளை அவரது தலையில் வைத்து ஆசிர்வதித்தார். பின், அந்தப் பாதுகைகளை
அவரிடமே கொடுத்துவிட்டார்.இந் நிகழ்வுகளை ஜன்னல் வழியே பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த
கூரத்தாழ்வார், “நானும் ஏதும் அறியாதவனாய், வாய் பேச முடியாதவனாய்
இருந்திருந்தால் எனக்கும் இராமானுஜரின் ஆசி இதுபோல கிடைத்திருக்குமே! என்
அறிவால் நான் கெட்டேன்!" என வருந்தினார்.வாய் பேச முடியாதவர், இராமானுஜரின்
பாதுகைகளை தனது உயிராய் எண்ணி, இராமானுஜருக்கு சேவை புரிவதே தனது வாழ்நாள்
குறிக்கோளாய் கருதி, தன் வாழ்நாளைக் கழித்தார்.திருக்கோளூர் அம்மாள்,
“அவரைப்போல், உமது பாதுகைகளைப் பெற்றேனா இல்லை அவற்றை உயிரெனக் கருதி
வாழ்ந்தேனா?”, என்று

Rangam, there lived a mute Sri Vaishnava person who would spent his time in
doing services to Ramanuja and to his disciples. He would do everything he
can, without asking anyone. Ramnuja noticed him for a long time. One day,
he took the mute Sri Vaishnava to a private room. He blessed the
Srivaishnava and placed his padhukas (his sandals) on his head. He then
signed to the Srivaishnava to take his refuge in those padhukas.At that
time, Koorathazhwan, who was watching everything through a window,
exclaimed to himself "I am ruined because of my knowledge. If I had been a
naive person like this Srivaishnava, I would have become the target of
Ramanuja's grace easily". The mute Srivaishnava took his refuge at
Ramanuja's divine feet from that day and considered that as his sole mean
for survival ("uyirAya").Thirukkolur Ammal is asking, "Did I become the
target of your divine grace and receive your padukas which is dearer than
life like the mute Srivaishnava?"*
