You are right. Even I think with a small family, having accumulated so
many valuable books, videos, albums of photos, DVDs and tapes VHS etc, who
will see all of them; and I started this preservations analogue and digital
for a quite number of years which is taking away a sizable almirahs. And it
started so early because I asked my father the names and photos of my
Paternal, and maternal Grandfathers and mothers and their ancestors.
However many B & W framed photos were snatched away by my parents'
relatives , they could not show much in history. A few B & W almost erased
images , I could revive by modern Technology, though the visual effects
were a few; Ariyakkkudi old 45 rpm went useless to revive. 1800 books were
half available. Therefore I decided to do a lot in preserving my holdings
which occupied the space and was not even seen or heard beyond once
initially , but stored well. I do not know whether all of them would pass
on. So for the past decades slowly I created thro pen drives, hard disks
and laptops to transform and create data which now I am flabbergasted
because it runs to so for 1200 GBs. That too I did 4 sets. The idea being
something will go to someone, who may use it in future. Inshort, we grow
the tree and getting the fruit for posterity. K R IRS 221220
