Q1         Why are most materialsnot magnetic?

A1          Martin Bhutelo, M. ScChemistry & Industrial Chemistry, Shivaji
University (2003) 21-2-2021

Alignment of electrons, atoms and domains are important in determiningthe
magnetic response of a material and whether it is a magnet. In most substances,
equal numbers of electrons spin in oppositedirections, which cancels out their
magnetism.

TEMPLE JWALA MATA JI-The everburning Flame (Jwala)

Interesting. I live some 40Km from the Holy Maa Jwala Ji temple situatedat
Jwalamukhi and havebeen visiting here once or twice a year.

Well the exact theory behind the ever burning flame could not bedescribed until
now as many teams of researchers have tried to know the causebehind this But
apart from the mythological and religious beliefs, this place has a
uniquegeological influence due to which the flames are continuously burning
forcenturies.

There can be many reasons, if we keep the religious point of view asideand
think logically, everythingwhat happens here on Earth is the product of Natural
Phenomenon and religiousbeliefs are integral part of it. Yes, certainly its
because centuryold stories are true enough and Mughal Emperor Akbar vowed in
front of God dessJwala, there are several scientific reasons too.

The Mughal Emperor Akbar hadoffered Maa Jwala a Golden Tomb, to which , Godess
Jwala refugeed and it turned out into an unpredictable Metal, even today its
existence is undefined.

Okay,

Firstly we must understand thata flame can only be produced by burning Fuel. A
fuel can be in Liquid , solid and gas. The town of Jwalamukhi issituated in the
lap of Dhauladhar ranges of Himalayas at an average altitude of650m. As
activities inthe Earth’s layers rich in fossil fuels may initiate leakage of
certain gaseswhich act as Fuel. But if you go to the place and see, there
are10–12 tiny caves where the flame is burning every time and it appears that
thefire cannot be ignited by own. The flame does not burn one’s skin at all. It
means the fuel is not muchvolatile. It does not burn to extract entire mass of
remainingamount of gases underneath.

However the Governmenthas ONGC station based in the town which clearly states
the flammable fuel ispresent there. But no body is sure, moreover the issue
cannot beopenly disclosed so as to protect religious sentiments of pilgrims.

ONGC Operated Station in Jwalamukhi

As a matter of fact, there is another temple of Maa Jwala located inSouth
Caucasus Country of Azerbaizan, in Baku . It was a part of Former USSR.

MANIKARAN HOT SPRINGS

There are never ending hotsprings in the Himalayan region which are also a
place of religious Interestsand dates back to pre-historic times and are
believed to be formed by the Disintegration of Dead Body of goddessSati while
Lord Shiva was flying with her into the universe, to break illusionof Angry
Lord Shiva, Vishnu , using his Chakra, tore apart the whole body intopieces few
of those fell on earth. As a matter of fact, all places of religious interests
which are believedto be formed after the body parts fell on earth, are located
in the Lap ofHimalayan Foothills.

For example, Eyes in Naina Devi (HP), Feet in Chintapurni (HP), Head inChamunda
Devi (HP) and Vaisho Devi in J&K are all same and dates back tothat time
mentioned in religious sculptures.

Science is always there in what happens on Earth, But who created it?Certainly
the supreme power. Andsome Questions cannot be asked or answered solely on the
basis of Facts.

Update: I recently visited thetemple and felt bad seeing thepoor behaviour of
Pujaris and Cops who were taking bribe in return of quick Darshansfrom some of
the pilgrims calling them falsely VIPs.

This practice must be stopped and brought to the notice of DC Kangra.

Finally,

Believe it as Gas coming out of some orifice and initiating fire, Butthere must
be some logic in the formation of such things and we can onlybelieve the
Almighty power for giving us such wonders nearby us. Today is Shivratri and I
wrote this answer indedication of Lord Shiva who gave us such a miraculous
place which is stillundefined by Researchers.

As you know that the Jwala Ji temple is located in the lower Himalayantown of
Jwalamukhi in the district of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh which is themain
attractions for tourists and as well as the local tourists that come tosee the
logic of continuous burning flame. By the way, when you see any Hindutemple
then you can watch that there are located sculpture of the Lord but in Jwala Ji
Temple there is no sculpture but a constantly burningblue flame that appears to
come from the rocks.

Here you can know the reason behind the burning flame in Jwala Ji Templewith

The religious history telling that when Lord Shiva was in unconsiousstate due
to death of his wife Sati who threw herself in holy altar after herfather
accused Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu divided Sati's body into fifty onepieces which
fell on earth at various places. These places came to known asShakti Peeths and
where Sati's tongue fell is Jwala Ji.

There is surely some otherphenomena and science that is working behind Jwala Ji
eternal flame but thatcan be indication of glory of our ancestors.

Till now no scientists or geologists says nothing since they only triedtheir
level best to find a clue. But, failed. Everyone should learn a lesson. They
can do anything man to manand should not play with Gods.

Finally, everything can not be tested and verified on principles ofscience and
that is why it is often said " Where thethinking boundary of Science ends,
Region of Spirituality begins"

Q3         What is the best habityou've taken up from another person?

A3          Jourdan Nguyen February25, 2016

Best habit ever been picked up from another person: brushing teeth using LEFT
hand!(If you're right-handed person and vice versa)

Try this and you would find tremendous effect after a week. It is nothing other
thanunlocking a different dimension in your brain, bringing you closer
toambidexterity. I felt terribly at awe and clumsy at first but nownot only am
I able to brush teeth, wash dishes, using chopsticks, writing, etc.by the use
of left hand!

You would never know how much this habit has to offer, it would come inhandy in
the case you break something (bones for example).

Q4         Does having a highspecific heat capacity mean it will retain heat
better?

Heat capacity and heatretention are two very different things. Heat capacity is
how much heat energy it takes to warmsomething up a degree, and heat retention
depends on what kind on heatconductor or insulation is being used.

if you heat up a metal pan (lowheat capacity) and insulate it, it will retain
the energy it has. If you take ahot rock (high heat capacity) and drop it in
cold water, it’ll lose it’s heat.

Souvik Das, Post graduation Chemical Engineering & Mathematics (2018)21-2-2021

Higher specific heat means that a higher amount of heat will be requiredto
achieve a definite temperature under constant pressure or volume. It doesn’t
necessarily mean it willretain higher “heat” i.e. energy. Amount of energy
contained in thesubstance is measured by internal energy or available energy.

Q5         What is the harsh truthof life?

A5          Abhinandan 21-2-2021 Lifeand Living · NOT a Good Writer

Today me and my friend were at a street food cart. It was near myuniversity and
used to be our habitat in our university days. It was almost 9pm. The
shopkeeper was tired and was about to close his shop.

We ordered two plates of pasta.

He served us two extremely delicious plates of joy in ten minutes. Wewere
eating.

Then I noticed the shopkeepereating something. He was eating a pocket cake
which usually costs 5 rs.

That was the moment I felt that life isn’t that simple how it looks like.

After feeding people withvarious delicious dishes, he has nothing to eat when
he gets extremelyexhausted at the end of the day.

This is the harsh truth of ‘serving’, be it of any form. ‘Serving’ isdone from
heart with hard work and can never be compensated with money.

My note- I have special reason toadd this QA. I have seen merchants selling
apples, grapes, pomegranates etc.  in streets eat ground nut at intervals.
Onefine day I asked to test quality of apple. He cut a small piece of a small
apple and gaveme. I purchased half kg. He retained remaining in a newspaper
rolling andkeeping. He said to me- I will give it to grandson.

Q6         What is a life hack that you thinkeverybody should know?

A6          Pavel Update October 22-2020Lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

One fine day, me  and my dad wentto nearby ATM to withdraw cash.Due to some
reason he forgot the PIN and thetransaction failed.

Quickly he took out a piece ofpaper where the PIN and passwords were written.

Seeing it, I was surprised as I can't see the usual numbers were written.PINand
passwords were written in SHORTHAND.

I think it is a clever hack to not disclose the password to whoever seesit in
case.

MY NOTE- Persons using ATM keepthe pin number saved in differentmethods. This
cannot  be more discussedhere.

All the above QA are based onQuora digest to me on 21-2-2021. Quora answers
need not be 100% correct answers
