As India is set to begin the next phase COVID-19 inoculation drive for
people above 60 years of age and those above 45 years of age with
comorbidities on Monday, the Central government shared a user guide for
registration
and appointment for vaccination.
The registration for the vaccination on the CoWIN 2.0 portal will open at 9
am tomorrow, the government said. This link www.cowin.gov.in will direct
you to the portal.
“Government of India is taking all necessary steps to ensure that the
nation is prepared to face the challenge and threat posed by the growing
contagion of COVID-19. The exemplary groundwork and precaution advisory by
the Government has helped in containing the spread of the virus in our
country,” the Centre said in the user manual.
Citizens will be able to register and book and appointment for vaccination,
anytime and anywhere, using the COWIN 2.0 portal or through other IT
applications such as Arogya Setu etc.

*Vaccination is chargeable at pvt hospitals*
Over 10,000 private hospitals under Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and more than 600
hospitals empanelled under CGHS and other private hospitals empanelled
under State Government’s Health Insurance Schemes will function as
vaccination centres.
In this round of vaccination drive that will run for six weeks, government
hospitals will give COVID-19 vaccine free of cost while beneficiaries will
need to pay up to Rs 250 per dose at private facilities.
The Centre has also specified that people above 45 years of age with 20
co-morbid conditions, including heart failure with hospital admission in
the past year, will be priority beneficiaries of COVID-19 vaccine in the
upcoming phase of the drive.
There will be only one live appointment for a beneficiary at any point of
time for each dose and appointments for any date for a COVID vaccination
center will be closed at 3 pm on that day for which the slots were opened.
The eligible persons will be able to register at the Co-WIN2.0 portal
through their mobile number, through a step by step process. With one
mobile number, a person can register as many as four beneficiaries.
However, all those registered on one mobile number will have nothing in
common except the mobile number.

The vaccine doses to be administered from tomorrow have been procured by
the Centre. State governments will not have to bear any cost. Private
facilities can charge a maximum of ₹250 per dose ( ₹150 for vaccination and
₹100 as operational charge). Private hospitals have been asked to remit the
cost of vaccine doses allotted to them in a designated account of the
National Health Authority (NHA). Payment gateway for the same is being
enabled by NHA on their website.
2 On 1st after struggling with the site at 9 20 AM, I could register
with the Aadhar card. But getting appointment was enforced only on 1st
though date range was 1 to 7th!; so I did not get the appointment; of
course I know the hospital closely and spoken to chief; the funny part is
in the afternoon, I heard the server stopped at 9 30 AM due to tech
problem; and I was told to get a PAN or driving licence not the aadhar; why
because the fingerprint in USA when coming out of the airport is done in a
few seconds whereas in India they want every finger one by one and even
after many attempts there is a total failure. so private hospitals cut
short the time though Aadhar is also one. We are the techies who develop
the nation but our tech process is so shabby. Because we are using a small
clip of least result unlike a broad digital pan in the USA KR IRS 2321.
