Being  a compilation there may  be errors

Q1         Has anyone quit government job to join private sector?

A1          Sathishkumar 21-3-2021 Entrepreneur.Idid. Not exactly Govt. job,
but job(s) in PSB. I got selected and worked asProbationary Officer in Bank of
India. While working there, I got into SBI asPO again. I resigned at BOI with
SBI as pretext and never joined SBI either. I  never felt like I belonged to
that job.

Not to blame the system, but I am certainly not a game for doing thesame,
monotonous job for some 36 years of my life. I realised this within 6months of
my job.

After coming out of the banks, I went on to clear CAT , did MBA andstarted my
own company now. I never regretted my decision because I would nothave been as
happier or as contained as I am today, had I continued with thebank.

My note- I installed CCTV inmy home about 6 months back. One gentle man
appeared first day for calculation. My brother in law introduced him asthe
owner of firm. He was  in slightlysoiled clothes. Later I had talk with him. He
was lecturer in Sathyabhama Engineering college, apostgraduate in engineering.
He resigned and with two others started thecompany.

Though for job satisfaction hestarted own firm, he was suffering since loss of
business due to covid 19, high rent for business premises, payments to
hisstaff, who are also engineers and diploma holders etc.  Some regret I could
feel in his face forresigning lecturer post from a reputed engineering college.

So everybody need not  shine by selecting job for Job satisfaction.

Q2         How does it feel to conduct a postmortem? Do doctors feelscared at
any point?

A2          Vidya Mogili December17, 2017-Internship at Sri Venkateswara
Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati(2019–present)

I can tell you how it feels to watch one.

It was my first time during 2nd year. We were so excited that we reachedhalf an
hour before the scheduled time. Now that's so unlike us.

Soon relatives of the deceased along with police came to the departmentand body
was shifted inside the room. We thought that doctors will perform thewhole
procedure but man we were wrong. There was our assistant professor alongwith
two men (who actually gave incision and took the body parts out forexamination).

Initially a thorough external examination of the body was done
includingclothing, any cuts or blood stains, condition of skin etc.

Incisions are of three types as you can see in the above picture. On thatday
modified Y-shaped incision was given and body parts were taken out one byone.
He explained us the whole procedure and the associated findings.

Here comes the difficult part - smell, at times it becomes unbearable. Wejust
moved a bit back for a while.

That particular case was death because of road traffic accident with
headinjury. When his skull cap was opened, we could see brain, haemorrhage
andfracture which lead to death.

Later the body parts were placed inside and suturing was done.

So you see there is no point to feel scared here. We felt a bitdiscomfort
somewhere in the middle of the procedure but scared no! It wasreally important
in medico legal cases.

No one had any feeling of nausea or dizziness among us. As it was ourfirst time
we were kinda more enthusiastic to get in there, to know about theprocedure.
Anyway that didn't last long. I mean neither we felt like goingagain nor our
teachers were interested to take us in.It's a responsibility!

My note- As I understand, doctors who has to perform postmortem  comes in turn
duty.

Q3         Why do people leave jobs from IT even though they have ahuge salary?

A3          Mohan Prakash Mon SrProgram Manager at 247.Ai (2018–present)

With 30 years in industry with close to 23 companies in 2 continents -think am
the most eligible  employee toanswer this.

HUGE SALARY - Wow who told you? Ask any IT service company, he believeshis OLA
cabbie or the Chai master outside office makes more money than him!!Could be
true too!

Jokes apart, People quit companies because of Pay is not sufficient
aslifestyles change, requiring huge chunks of money.

Unhappy jobs or routine stuff irritate folks, 95% of engineers find theirjobs
can be done by a 10th fail as systems are mostly repetative and has nocreative
part. The lure of higher money, ability to take tougher tasks forcesyou to move

The Glamour of travelling, living abroad lured me into shifting out ofcontinent
as i found payment, task, boss all the same toxic thing in allbrands. But
realised the pay parity for developers and locals. Went to onbecome a resident.

Bottom line: The dream of earning big very quickly to retire at 40 is
notpossible.

Q4         What are some unwritten social rules everyone should know?

side looks.Mind your own business please.

Don't drive with the too loud music. It's not safe.

If a cop stops you randomly and start asking questions, just stay
calm.Don'targue with them.

It may lead you somewhere unexpected.

Don't touch stuff at the shops that you don't intend to buy.

Never kiss a stranger's kid. They might not like it.

If you find the baby cute, just say a Hii from a distance.

got more important things to do.

When someone talks about their problems, listen to them. Don't just startwith
yours.

Don't talk to someone if they wearing headphones or earphones. They arewearing
it because they don't want to talk to anyone.

Treat everyone equally whether he is a cleaner or a cool dude.

No one likes to be treated bad. People always appreciate when you treatthem
with respect.

If someone tells you that they have an appointment of a doctor, don't askwhat
it's for.Just say, hope you are fine. If they want to share, they will.

doesn't conform to your beliefs or opinions.

Q5         Derived from the poisonous gas fluorine, why is fluorideused in
toothpaste?

A5          Tomaž Vargazon 23-3-2021Practicingatheist

Derived from the poisonous glas chlorine and a dangerous metal sodium, Ipresent
to you the mother of all poisons:

Sodium chloride, also known astable salt.

Fluorine gas is something quite different from the fluoride ion. Flourinegas is
comparable to cyanide in toxicity, by contrast we can tolerate about 10 mg/kg
body weight offluoride ions without adverse issues (lehtal dose of cyanide is
about 3 mg/kgof body weight).

This is the basis of all chemistry, atoms themselves are just a part ofthe
picture, it’s how they’re arranged that makes for all the difference.

The real danger from fluorideion in toothpaste is that it will form
hydrofluoric acid when put into an acidenviroment, such as a stomach. That’s
why you should never swallow your toothpaste. Hydrofluoricacid is bad news
indeed, but unless you eat your toothpaste for lunchyou shouldn’t worry about
it.

You also shouldn’t eat nothing salt for lunch. About 3 g/kg of bodyweight (250
grams for most of us, about half a pound) will kill you. Yup, most of us have
enough table salt at home to kill 2–3 people at alltimes and you worry about
toothpaste of all things.

Q6         What is the ship of Theseus paradox?

A6          Srinath Nalluri Updated 20-3-2021.M.Sc, B. Eng in Mechanical
Engineering & Minor (Technopreneurship),National University of Singapore
(Graduated 2020)

This bicycle you see in thepicture is 4-generations old.

My great-grandfather bought it for his children to travel to school inthe
neighbouring town. His name is still there engraved on the handlebar of
thebicycle.

The cycle is being used by my grandfather now. It is still going verystrong. He
occasionally says ‘This was bought for Rs 75 (~1 Dollar Now) around60 years
back.’

Except for the frame andhandlebar, all the parts of that cycle have been
replaced slowly with time.

Now, let’s say The frame and thehandlebar too would be replaced in the future.

Then

Could it still be called as the 60-year old cycle? Or it becomes a newcycle? Or
something in between?

And if someone had been collecting all the damaged parts and assembled itone
day, would that be the 60-year old cycle or this?

The answer to this is what Shipof Theseus Paradox is all about.

The ship of Theseus raises the question of whether an object that has hadall of
its components replaced remains fundamentally the same object or not[1].

The name comes from the legendthat the famous ship sailed by Theseus in a great
battle was kept in a harbor as a museum piece, and as theyears went by some of
the wooden parts began to rot and were replaced by newones; then, after
acentury or so, every part had been replaced. The question then is whether
the"restored" ship is still the same object as the original.

Q7         Does ice help in creating lightning?

A7          2 Answers John Larsson, former StudiedPhysics, Economy, and
Politics Answered 23-3-2021

To be more exact, the formationof ice crystals creates the electricity in the
atmosphere, but not due the widespread false ideathat ice crystals ‘collide’!
In fact ice crystal do exactly the opposite, they repel each other asthey get
positively charged through a piezoelectric process. The positivelycharged ice
crystals are necessary both for the formation of rain clouds asdescribed in my
answer to

Where does a rain fall comefrom?

https://www.quora.com/Where-does-a-rain-fall-come-from

and the formation ofthunderclouds as described in my answer to

Lightning and thunder are caused by electric discharges due to
chargedifferences from the ground and the clouds. But why is there a charge
build up?

Ratnesh Ramesh Joshi, BTechfrom Shivaji University (2023) 23-3-2021

The formation of ice in a cloudappears to be a very important element in the
development of lightning in astorm. The collision of ice and water particles
causesseparation of the positive and negative electric charges in the
particles. These opposite charges attract, thus "in-cloud" lightning is
oftenproduced.

Q8         When volcanoes erupt, does that mean that the core of Earthis slowly
running out of lava?

A8          5 Answers-John Flavin, ProfessionalGeologist and Engineer 22-3-2021

The lava extruded by volcanoes does not originate from the core, it comesfrom
the mantle.

Much of the material belched out of volcanoes is recycled material, asocean
crust moves under continental masses and melts. This is a process calledplate
tectonics.

The Earth has plenty of lava toaround and will continue to flow for the next
few billion years from places all around the planet. These sites willchange
over time, (as they have for the last few billion years).

2ND ANSWER Rene De Hon, former Former Professor of Geology(Retired) at Texas
State University (2015-2021) 22-3-2021

Magmas forms from materialscloser to the surface than the core. The Earth is
composed of a core, mantle, and crust. Melting to formmagma occurs in the upper
mantle or in the lower crust. Once formed, amagma may rise toward the surface.
If erupts onto the surface it is known aslava. There is a very slow but
consistent circulation of materialso that some crustal material is subducted
into the mantle while somemantle material melts and intrudes into the crust.
So, the source material ofmagma is never exhausted.

3RD ANSWER John Yash, MD Pediatrics Tamil Nadu State Board& Pondicherry
University (2014) 22-3-2021

No there is and will be a constant stream of rock that’s being pulverisedand
melted by friction pressure and heat in the earths MANTLE not coreall the lava
from all the volcanoes is from the mantlewhich is molten and the crust of our
planet sits over the mantle . so no chanceof running out of lava.

4TH ANSWER- IanCampbell, BSc Geology, Newcastle University (1986) 22-3-2021

The magma associated with volcanos come from molten rock from the crustand
mantle not the core, but inany case, the material is recycled. As well as
molten rock coming go thesurface in volcanos, there is material being absorbed
from the surface below insubduction zones, for example in places under the
Pacific ‘Ring of Fire’.

5TH ANSWER- John Clerk, 52 Years in Science Education.(1969-present) 22-3-2021

Lava originates in the mantle, not the core. Molten rock being extrudedis
simply a rearrangement of material.Lava extruded during the Archaean age was up
to 250°C hotter than lava beingextruded today - this indicates that the mantle
temperature has decreasedslowly over billions of years.

Q9         Before humans discovered fire, what did they eat? I do notthink they
ate raw meat. Did they just eat fruit and berries, stuff like that?

A9          Matt Riggsby 20-3-2021 Eatson a regular basis.

For hominids who didn’t use fire, you have to go back not just one buttwo
species before us to Homo habilis. It’s not clear what their diet was, but it
was likelysimilar to that of our chimpanzee cousins: fruit, nuts, young leaves,
and amodest proportion of insects. And if it was like chimp diets, thenit did
also occasionally include small amounts of meat, which would obviously have
been raw.The discovery of fire by Homo erectus, along with their increasing
braincapacity, meant that they were able to hunt more effectively and increase
theamount of meat they consumed considerably.
