Q1         Do Japanese eggs tastedifferent?

A1          Michael Dougan 28-3-2021Cafe Owner at Michael's Cafe American
(2017–present)

Japanese eggs are amazing. Very flavorfull. Different … than what?

This depends on what part of the world you eat eggs in!

I live in Japan full-time, I havea few observations.

I can’t report on the taste of eggs worldwide, obviously, it varies fromregion
to region, farm to farm, but as an American visiting Japan for the firsttime,
nearly 25 years ago, Japanese eggs made an impression on me.

The first thing I noticed? Rich, bright orange yolks.

Unlike the pale yellow yolks I’ve seen everywhere I’ve eaten eggs inAmerica,
except central America, which also have bright orange yolks.

What I was seeing, I believe, is the difference between industrialmass-produced
chicken eggs, and smaller-scale, locally grown chicken-laying eggs. Chickens
givendifferent feed, I would later learn more about. Back to that in a moment.

I discovered that Japan’s ecosystem, and national delivery system, ismore
localized and less industrialized than what I experienced in the U.S.

A lot of what we see here seems more farm-to-market. Organic isn’t theright
word, because Japanisn’t “pure” and natural, all the way down. But it is more
organic inthe sense that small farms and ranches and local resources are more
immediatelyavailable and accessible to consumers all over Japan.

Chicken tastes great here.Chicken eggs taste great.

Seafood? don’t get me started.

Japan has a well-integrated local food culture that provides, on
average,high-quality produce and meats that would, in places like the U.S.,
beadvertised as “free range!”, or “organic!” or “locally grown!”,
meaninglessadvertising buzzwords, to justify higher-cost boutique varieties.

In Japan? it’s all true, and it’s … just average food. The bar is high. And it’s
normal.

Japan is about the size ofCalifornia, thought it has a population size of half
the U.S., so foodproduction and distribution is pretty much same-day, or
overnight, anywhere in Japan. This plays a rolein fresh produce and eggs and
meats arriving anywhere on the islands, in shortorder.

Back to my earlier unfinished story. Why the bright orange yolks?

Simpler than I imagined. Among other nutrients, the chicken feed contains a
blend rich withcarotene. Carrots. No great mystery. This makes the yolks have a
richer color.

Is it for show? Is it just a coloring agent? Does it improve the flavor?I don’t
know.

Bottom line: Japan loves chickeneggs. Even average eggs I’ve tasted here are
above average. And when we buy good eggs? They really are special, and I benefit
from this locally-accessible everyday treasure.

Q2         What is the best adviceyour father ever gave you?

A2          Shaunak Bhattachharje29-3-21Lives in Kolkata, West Bengal, India
(1996–present)

I remember, I was in Class 7 when my friends at school started applyinggel in
their hair, did funky haircuts, flirted with girls, bunked classes andskipped
school to hang out with friends or their boyfriend/girlfriend. That life was
totally new to me andI too wanted to be a part of it.

One day I was styling my hair with water and my father caught me doingthat.
Instead of shouting or scolding, he made me sit beside him and said something
which Ihaven’t forgotten yet. It has been 13 years since that day.

He told me these were all temporary phases but nothing lasted forever. He
understood the reason why Iwas styling my hair and he added that was the time
to be serious about one’scareer since those were the stepping stones. I had two
choices, either to chase girls and waste my career, the girl will also be
goneultimately or I could focus on my career, build something good and be with
agirl who is equally successful in life.

I realized that people who weregood at their studies didn’t do such a thing.
They continued attending classes, had a simple hairstyle and obviously, didn’t
chase girls. I am bigenough to differentiate the good from the bad and
understood where I was goingwrong. All those fun and frolic in the teenage
phase was just temporary andgrowing up, I realised that. Thankfully,I didn’t
deviate from the path and that day’s advice had a great impact on me.

This is why, not to brag or humiliate someone else but those guys, who were
roamingaround with girls and bunked school, are struggling to find a job
today. Those girls who used to bunk with them, are married now to other
successfulpeople they met in their life. As for me, I am doing good, I am
satisfied withthe life I have had till now and my parents are proud of my
accomplishments. All because of that one singlepiece of advice I received that
day!

Q4         Howdo I increase my memory power?

A4 Ritesh Kumar Mishra February 19-2021 -Keen to share philosophic topics

While Swami Vivekananda was in America, some boys werestanding on the bridge
and tryingto shoot egg shells that were floating in the water.

They failed almost at every try, Vivekananda who waswatching them from a
distance went close to them, took the gun and fired twelve times, and every
time hefired, he hit the eggshell.

The inquisitive boys asked him how he did it?

He replied “Whatever you are doing, put your whole mind on it. If youare
shooting, your mind should be only on the target. Then you willnever miss. If
you are learning your lessons, think only of the lesson. In mycountry boys are
taught to do this.”

Q5         How'slife after getting a government job in India? How does life and
its aspects getchanged?

A5          AvijitChakraborty 21-3-2021 Been in weird situations for years

People can beunsatisfied with a high paying Government job as well

Here I am narrating about the job of an officer whois a mutual friend and also
part of a state government’s civil services jobposting. This guy cracked a
state’s civil services exam/interview and was posted as an officer
inTehsildar’s office. Naturally, this was a high paying and quitestress-less
work. He had variety of government civil service benefits, ownhouse, servants,
official car etc. But he was not satisfied with his job profile.

He wasn’t just another state government employee whowould simply perform what
his seniors would ask him to do. He felt that waitingfor the Tehsildar to
arrive at his office with a flower bouquet was beneathhim. This was an
ambitious man. he seemed a similar job profile as well. He wasnot the typical
government’s YES SIR man. Slowly he became aware of the fact that this job
wouldnot keep him happy and that he had to branch out.

He attempted the state government’s Civil Servicesexam again, qualified it and
this time, opted for Forest Service job posting with same civilservice officer
facilities. He was trained in very hard conditionsin the same institute where
Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers are trained inDehradun. This is the same
institute where Student of the Year first part wasshot. He cleared a
verydifficult physically enduring forest officer service training which lasted
afew months. Then, he was posted in one of forest areas from the statewhere he
cleared civil services.

This new job was starkly different and challengingthan the previous office
posting he held. As part of a high ranking forestofficer, he was always
accompanied by two other lower ranked forest officers. As the jungle had rough
terrains, they were provided with a badass toughenedScorpio. As part ofthis new
job, he had to carry a gun on him any time since they may on severaloccasions
come across sandalwood thieves or Elephant poachers around the jungle. If
provoked, they could shoot as well for their protection. Many a times, hehad to
rush to a remote village within the jungle as there were reports overradio that
the villagers are bothering a pack of elephants who unknowinglyentered their
village.

Protection of the elephants is part of their keyduties and failing to do so
would involve scoldings from their respectivesenior. It is a 24*7 job. Manya
times he had to run at midnight to protect elephants from poachers withhis
fellow officers. Deep inside jungle, there would obviously be no network orany
other source of entertainment. It’s a tough job with a certain level ofrisk
towards life as well.

After a couple of years working as a stategovernment forest service officer, he
is now thinking of attempting Indian Civil Services for a differentjob posting
next time around.

Why did I quote this long example ? Because ultimately it’s the person who
hasto decide if his/her life really did change after getting that high
salariedgovernment job. I have seen people being content with their low
rankedoffice job in a government office and i have seen people unsatisfied with
acivil services job. Manypeople dislike their current government jobs but they
still stay because of thebenefits and the job security it provides. I have seen
people stuckat the same position in a government job for life and be content. I
have seenmy friends happily working as probationary officers in PSU banks. So
the job doesn’t change the life rather the mindset of the person inthe job does.

This is the picture of a forest service officersguest house limits amidst a
jungle with a stunning view. This life’s tough butit does have it’s perks.

Q6         Canyou tell the middle class things?

A6          Themost middle class things ever are as follows;

We all middle class know following things as we use themin our day-to-day life…!

1) Heater:- this thing is mostly used to heat waterfor bath in middle class
family.

MY NOTE- I was using heater coil while working at Kodaikkanal. But one has to
be cautious not to touch water while heating.

Even regular water heater, if the coil becomes weak, the leakage of current
would be felt in otherelectric instruments also. Hence periodic replacement
ofcoil is a must.

2) Toothpaste and Toothbrushes holder

3) AC lite version i.e.Cooler

4) Various types of bottles in fridge

5) Use ketchup till the very last drop.😂

6) No need to buy new clothes for dusting 😂 mom be like “purane clothes se kaam
chalega..!”

7) One of the common thing we used to store water orCereal ..!

8) No need of tailor , safety pins are enough tomatch the tailor work 😂

9) Use shampoo till the end by adding water intoit..! We always use 1rs ka
chota shampoo ka sachet But if accidentally Mummybuy shampoo ki bottle from
D-mart then we used it till very last drop.!😂

10) You have plastic bag to carry more plasticbags..!

This is enough for the day I hope you like it , thisrelate to all of us as we
have experience of all above the things once in ourlife ..!

Q7         Whyis Shiva worshipped particularly on Monday?

A7          RangaswamySundar Raj March 17-2021 Doctor at Self-Employment

Why is Shiva worshiped particularly on Monday?

Monday or Somavar is associated with Moon.

What has Moon to do with Shiva? Moon symbolizes thesubconscious mind.

We believe in Shiva with our conscious mind.Conscious mind is under our
control. Moreover, if Shiva doesn’t solve ourproblem we can solve it on our own.

However, depending on Shiva partially has a basic problem. It will make all
theactivities of our life incompatible.

Moreover, conscious mind is not very powerful.

If we cansomehow shift the default state of conscious mind to the default state
of thesubconscious mind, we would not only be more disciplined but also very
powerful. Therefore, on Shivaratri day we shift the default state of
consciousmind to the default state of the subconscious mind. This will make
usdisciplined and powerful.

Shiva iscalled Somanath because he is the master of the subconscious mind. The
subconscious mind is not only powerful but also considers theentire life for
executing any task. It can only be associated with Shivabecause Shiva is the
god of discipline. For the same reason, Shiva is the onlyHindu god who has Third
eye, because Third eye to makes life very complicated.

Therefore, Shivais worshiped particularly on Monday because Monday symbolizes
the subconsciousmind, which makes us more disciplined and powerful.

Q8         Whatis the most interesting fact that you know and I don't, but I
should?

A8          HinaAnser August 14, 2020

Sleeping in acold room can help you slim down. According to research, conducted
by commonwealth university, just one month of sleeping in a 66-degree room
helped increase subjects'fat-burning ability by 10%.

Researchers found that sitting & standingstraight makes it easy to recall
memories, as these positions boost the flow ofoxygen & blood to the brain up to
40 percent.

My note- What aco incidence – Today only I posted about sitting and standing

Taking photos can worse your memories. A studypublished in the Journal of
memory & cognition found that subjects hadbetter recollection of painting who
didn’t take a photo than those who took aphoto and only spent 15s analyzing the
artwork.

Ability praisetends to put children in a fixed mind set (ability isfixed, and
you just have it), whereas effort praise tends to put them in agrowth mind set
(you can develop these skills because you’re working hard).

Psychologists found that people struggling to makecomplex decisions did best
when they were distracted and were not able to thinkconsciously about the
choice at all.

Fake smiles canhurt you. The researcher looked at thebehavior of bus drivers, &
found that these people withdraw from their workby putting smiles for show & it
has long term deleterious health effects.
