Q1         If light is made of photons, and all photons travel at thesame
speed, why do some light colors /frequencies have more or less energy?

A1          Frank Rose UpdatedDecember 11, 2018Studied Physics at Science

This is a very good question and the answer demonstrates the utterweirdness
that is at the heart of quantum mechanics.

You are correct that the energy of a moving particle is proportional toits
velocity. The square of its velocity, to be exact. If you double the speedof
your car, your kinetic energy will increase by a factor of four.

This is the classical view ofmechanics described quite beautifully by none
other than Isaac Newton.

Around the turn of the twentieth century however, Einstein et al. figuredout
that very very very small objects do not behave like classical particles, such
as you traveling inside your car.

Specifically, quantum mechanical objects such as photons simultaneouslyexhibit
the properties of particles and waves. Weird, I know, but as far as ourpuny
little brains and our most powerful instruments can tell, light really isa
particle and a wave at the same time.

So to the answer, two waves can be traveling at the same speed and yethave very
different frequencies. Radio waves, for example are low energy because they
have very longwavelengths. X-Rays are high energy because they have very short
wavelengths.Yet both travel at exactly the same speed, the speed of light.
(Frequency andwavelength are inversely proportional to each other)

So yes, all photons travel atthe speed of light but it is the
frequency/wavelength of the light thatdetermines its energy.

Q2         What is hypocrisy in a married life?

A2          Jalaj Kumar Thu Analyst.

Neha got married to a guy (arrange or love doesn't matter here).

Her parents spent a lot of money in her marriage. They happily giftedNeha gold
jewelleries worth more than 10 lakhs. Her parents put their life timesavings in
her marriage to arrange jewelleries and dowry so that their daughterdon't have
to listen taunts of her in-laws.

After her bidai ceremony, she reaches her in-laws place. After performingall
the rituals at in-laws place she keeps her gifted jewelleries in heralmirah
locker.

After few hours or few days her in-laws or her husband (who is taught byhis
parents) tell Neha — Wewant all of the jewelleries to be safe and give your
jewelleries to us. We willkeep your jewelleries safe in bank locker/mother
in-law's personal locker.

Now Neha is bit hesitant in giving her jewelleries to her in-laws as sheneeds
more time to build trust with her in-laws and those jewelleries weregifted to
her and she has right to keep it.

But her in-laws and husband startmaking a huge issue out of this. They start
scolding Neha that you don't trust us, what your parents taught you.

Neha, who is now under pressuresuccumb to their demands and give the
jewelleries to her in-laws who happilykeeps it with them and the issue is
sorted.

The biggest hypocrisy of married life is “trust". A newly wedded bride is
expected to blindly trust her in-laws andhusband but in-laws don't show any
trust in their daughter in-law.

Q3         Are central government employees in India getting paid lesssalary?

A3          Rahul SinghChandravanshi Thu Postal Assistant at India Post
(2018–present)

This salary slip is from December 2020 and I am answering this questionon
15.04.2021. This is available in my desk so I am uploading it on qoura.
AndMarch month salary is same as this one. So this is enough I think. You can
clearly see that howmuch we are getting. If you compare this with unorganised
privatesector's job, then we are getting very good amount. But if you compare
it withorganised private sector then yes we are rotten tomato whooping with 30%
fresh.

I would like to add that I have got 2 yearly increment already. Our DA
isfreezed from January 2020 onward (due to corona). I am in Z city, so my HRA
isonly 8%. Who are in Xcity are getting 24% summing total about 38k.

The salary is like— “Neither will i let you live nor die". You cansurvive on
this salary but you can't make your dream true.

Edit 1:— This is simply a comparison on the basis of the question asked. I want
to clear that I amhappy with this job as some people are commenting why did I
choose this jobwhen I am not happy. Happiness and fulfilling your dreams are
twoidentical things.

I know several people have dreams of government job but this is
simplycomparison. Please readthe question and then my answer.

Q4         Do the spirits of the dead know about the living?

A4          Tessa Lynne Tue Writer/Therapist

Upon their return to the spirit world, spirits retain their memories ofthe
living, but thereare limits to their knowledge.

Spirits do not have access to what is happening to any random person oreven to
every friend and acquaintance from their recent lifetime. The rules ofthe
spirit world do not allow them to zoom in on human activities out of
idlecuriosity.

While most of us mortals have some curiosity about the lives of others, and
there are some who take this to an extreme, human attitudes and concerns are
let go of as a spiritmakes their journey to the spirit world. As spirit, they
will be focused ontheir path forward.

A spirit is free to observe loved ones, to watch over them, and theymight be in
communication with the spirits or guardians of loved ones, whocould relate
information to them, but the spirits of the dead do not know what the living
are thinking.

If a spirit wishes to do more than watch over loved ones from afar, e.g.,to
make their presence known to them,. they must first seek permission from a
Master or council, stating their purpose and how contact will serve the
interests of both parties

My sources are two spirits who spoke to me through another person
(notchanneled). To learn about my experience with them, see my profile link to
TheInvisible Choir.

My note- Long back I listenedto an interview with actor Sridhar an MIT. Once a
person asked, when he said, I ask my late father’s opinion in
difficultsituation, he replied- I believe in my father’s spirit talking to me.
This mademe to include this QA.

Q6         C an warm waterreduce acidity?

Chris Pohl, Over 45 years experience as an R&D chemist. Over 95patents.
Answered Mon

A6          While it is true that the acidity ofcarboxylic acids tends to
decrease with increasing temperature, that decreaseis simply due to the change
in temperature and the acidity reverts upon returnto normal temperature.

It is not an irreversible change. If you are trying to reduce aciditybecause
you're worried about supposed problems with acidity commonly associatedwith
poor health, it's not something you need to worry about. The whole idea
ofalkaline diet being beneficial is pure pseudoscience lacking any solid
clinicalevidence as to any benefit.

The fact is that 98.5% of allfoods are acidic. Theclassification system you
typically see on a site promoting alkaline diets iswholly without merit. For
example, lemon juice is typically classified as analkaline food when in fact
it's one of the most acidic foods known. So, my advice is to relax andfollow
the advice of dietitians. Eat more fruits and vegetables anddon't worry about
whether they are supposedly alkaline or not.

My note- So drinking boiledwater just cooled to drinking stage will have less
acidity. Especially duringcovid period whether acids remain or not, harmful
bacterias would be killed bydrinking boiled water cooled.

2nd answer-CharviLotlikar, former Some College Graduate Answered April 11

Nothing works like a warm cup of water to clear toxins out of the body. It also
helps in breaking down of the food andenergizes the digestive system, making it
easier to digest. If you are havingstomach related issues like constipation,
acidity or even cough, cold, keepsipping on warm water for major relief.

Q7         What is the story of Lord Vishnu holding Trishula and LordShiva
holding Sudarshana Chakra?

A7          Bhanu Kiran April 5 Interestedin Indian Epics

Once Narada asked sage Pulastyawhy Lord Vishnu and Shiva exchanged their
weapons.

Sage Pulastya recited the story that was once told by Lord Vishnu toManu. In
ancient times, there was a demon king named Jalodbhava.

Jalodbhava pleased Lord Brahmawith his penance and got a boon that specific
weapons of gods will fail againsthim, sages cannot curse him, fire and water
cannot harm him. Having obtained these boons, Jalodbhavastarted to rule entire
earth out of cruelty.

The gods took birth on earth and then took Jalodbhava to Vaikunta. Lord
Vishnuthen went with Jalodbhava and the gods to Kailasa. A meeting was held
there onthe strategy to kill this demon. Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva exchanged
their weapons immediately sinceJalodbhava had a boon that gods cannot use their
specific weapons to kill him. When Jalodbhava saw the two gods marching towards
him, he immediately escapedfrom the place and went to bottom of a river. When
Lord Vishnu and Shiva sawthe demon hiding under river, they both hide them on
both banks of that river.

Jalodbhava came out of thewater thinking that both Lord Vishnu and Shiva might
have gone from there. Jalodbhava, with fear started looking on all sidesand
then decided to climb Himalaya. Lord Vishnu with trident and Lord Shiva with
Sudharshanarushed towards the demon when they saw him climbing the mountain.

Lord Vishnu threw the trident and Lord Shiva released the
Sudharshanasimultaneously towards Jalodbhava. Jalodbhava who was having golden
complexion fell downfrom the mountain like a white star falling from the sky.

Narada said- kindly, tell me that why had Śiva held Sudarśana andVasudeva the
Śula there?

There was one mighty king of demons called Jalodbhava (water-bom). Thatmighty
demon worshipped god Brahma with observing terrific penance. Brahmapleased and
endowed him with powers defeating all gods and demons. It was saidthat the
specific weapons of gods too shall fail to put any harm to him. Thecurse
thundered by hermits known to Brahma shall even prove futile and the fireand
water shall do not harm to him.

That demon having these specific powers then began ruling on earth. Heput in
pain all gods, hermits and kings too. That cruel demon had destroyed
allbenevolent activities.

The gods then took birth on the earth took the kings in their company andwent
to the supreme regulating authority god Visnu. God too went With them
atHimalaya where Hara was existed.

A meeting arranged there and strategy stated for killing that enemy as itwas
only benevolent project for gods and hermits. Both gods then exchangedtheir
weapons immediately.

When that wicked demon saw the god of gods Sankara and Visnu marchingforward of
attack, considering them undefeated. The demon entered into thebottom of river
with a fright.

When Saiikara and Visnu saw the demon hidden in huge and holy riverMadhumafi,
they suddenly hide on the both banks of that river.

Jalodbhava came up from the water considering Satikara and Visnu returnedtill
then. He cautiously started looking all sides with fear and thus, climbedon the
ridge of inaccessible Himñlaya.

Visnu with trident and Satikara with discus rushed fast towards everywhen they
saw him climbing on the ridge of the mountain.

They hit hard on his body by throwing discus and trident simultaneously. That
demon having golden complexion fell down from the mountain like a whitestar
falling from the sky.

Visnu had thus, held trident while Saiikara had held discus for killingtheir
enemy Jalodbhida. The foot print of Siva on Himilaya beganemanating the river
Vitasta just then.

Q9         How do I make dosa batter at home?

A9          Bhuvana Rameshwar Tue Smartcook, not hardworking

Dosa batter is slightlydifferent from idly batter.Idlies are soft and rise up
when steamed. Dosas are made crisp or soft.

Idly batter gives soft smalldosas. Soft dosas are goodfor thick gravies. Adding
a little fenugreek seeds when soaking the rice givesmore brownish but soft
dosas. So such dosa batter should be spread thick.

Crisp dosas are made big, thinand golden brown in colour. For this you need

2 cups of raw rice 2 cupsof boiled rice 3/4 cup of good black (urad) lentils.

A tablespoon of chana dhal or Bengal gram or tuvar or yellow lentils.

Soak them for 6 hrs after washing them the rice together and the urad andBengal
lentils separately . Grind lentils separately until it is fluffy andaerated.
Then grind the rice mixture until smooth.

When done mix the two batters with required salt. (around 3 to 4teaspoon).

Let it stand in a warm place or next to your stove. The batter fermentsin
around 5 hours and rises up to double the size. So keep the batter in a big
vessel after grinding.

When ready do notstir the risen batter. Use it as such. Use a flat ladle,
takebatter, pour on preheated non stick tava and quickly spread it into a
thincircle as big as the tava.

Pour oil on the sides and on the holes created by the fermented batterinside.

Cover and cook on medium flame. There is no need to turn. When ready remove.
Serve withchutney.

Or keep a little potato masala, cover and cook for a minute or two thenfold the
dosa on halves and serve.

Q10       How many Napunsak Bhagwan are in Hinduism?

A10        Napumsaka means one whois gender non-binary.

In Hindu mythology there are anumber of celestials that are non-binary.

Saturn (śani-bhagavan) & Mercury (Budha) are bothnapumsaka among the Grahas.
Rahu and Ketu are also non-binary according to someauthorities.

Chandra (Moon) and Shukra(Venus) are gender fluid.

Narasimha Bhagavan was technically non-binary because the conditionsplaced upon
the terminator of Hiranyakashipu had to be beyond all the pairs ofopposites
like human/animal,deva/asura, male/female etc.

Vishnu Bhagavan while being“cis-gender” is famous fortaking the form of the
most captivating beauty - Mohinī to achieve a specificgoal. There are a few more

Q11       Does air resistance resist motion?

A11        Jon Prabhu7m ago Freelancer(2018–present)

Yes. Air resistance isproportional to the speed, and is applied in the
direction opposite to motion. The faster the object moves, the more
collisionsand so the greater the overall force due to air resistance. The
aerodynamics design canminimize the effect of air resistance.

Q12       What "poverty food" is actually really delicious?

A12        Meenati Amatya Updated 1hago Former teacher of Mount Carmel School

When we were children I saw my mother most of the time in the kitchen.

Papa’s office was at nine o clock and he had to leave by eight thirty. Somy
mother had to cook lunch for him. She had no time to prepare breakfast forall
five brothers and sisters.

For breakfast we mostly hadsoaked flattened rice. This was our staple
breakfast. Only on Sundays we used to have special breakfast.

Mama used to mix with banana, little milk and sugar or jaggery. Sheincluded
which ever was available.

People might call it a poverty food because mostly people in our villagesuse to
eat this. Buttrust me this is really healthy, nutritious and easy to prepare.

Mostly people in our villages consume this because everything isavailable at
home from flattened rice to banana to milk.

Q13       Where does alcohol come from?

A13        Ray Pooley, formerResearch & Development Engineer at Otis Elevator
Company (1975-1998) Answered34m ago

The word “alcohol” describes acategory of organic molecules that have at least
one hydroxyl radical (-OH)attached to one of the molecule’s carbon atoms.

The number of carbon atoms determines its chemical name andbehaviour. They
exist naturally but the most familiar one to many is ethyl alcoholwhich is the
one found in alcoholic drinks that are manufactured for its drugproperties.

Ethyl alcohol has the formula C2H5OH. Two carbon atoms with one hydrogenatom
also attached to an oxygen atom.

Q14       Is Covishield safe? How was your experience being vaccinatedby
Covishield?

A4          Akaash Muthiah (ஆகாஸ் முத்தையா) April 3 M.B.B.S in Bachelor of
Medicine and Bachelorof Surgery Degrees, Kilpauk Medical College (Expected 2022)

I took Covishield in February at Govt. Kilpauk Medical College Hospital,Chennai.

You reach the vaccination centre, enter your details and then proceed tothe
vaccination area. Here your names will be entered in another register and you
will be asked if you haveallergies of any kind.(Even if they don't, it's always
good practice to tell itto them yourself).

In my case, I did have an allergy which I then told them. They explainedand
reassured that they have all necessary medications loaded right there andshould
something arise they will take immediate care. They also injected a test
dose, asked me to wait for 10 minutes, observing if I developed anyadverse
reactions and then injected the remaining dose. You will then wait for30 minutes
in a room where you will be monitored if you have any reactions.(This is
irrespective of whether you have allergies or not).

At the end of 30 minutes, youcan leave the centre.

Injection site pain starts to develop around the 15 minute mark and mayexist
for a day or 2.

I was lucky enough not to get severe body aches or fever but severalpeople who
took the vaccination with me did get them. Each one is unique andthe reaction
will be different.

If you feel it is somethingsevere, visit the vaccination centre again and they
will take good care of you.

You're not supposed to rub the injection site or give hot or coldcompress on it.

Being vaccinated doesn't prevent you from getting COVID. Itonly reduces the
intensity of the disease and so continue wearing a mask andmaintaing social
distancing. Get vaccinated and stay safe.
