Being a compilation there may be errors
Q1Why do people worship demigods like Shiva?
A ashcharan Mahenthiran. Has learned Puran and
hasvolunteered at Iskcon before May 23
First of all, Shiva is only ademigod according to the Corrupted beliefs of the
so called “greatest source ofvedic knowledge in India”known as Isckon.
Second of all, Shivaand Krishna are one.
So nobody gave you or even Srila Prabhupada the right to call Shiva a
demigod.Shiva and Krishna are both Paramatma. Lastly, we worship Shiva for the
samereason why Vaishnavas worship Krishna. It’s because we love him.
Q2 Isit true that Mahadev and Mata Parvati had a daughter named Ashok
Sundari? Hername is not heard nor is it mentioned in any Puranas or scriptures?
A2 Narayani Purushottama 2 Lovers of Radha Krishna okay 15h ago
Hare Krishna! Yes she is the daughter of Shiva Shakti. And she ismentioned in
Padma Purana.
Q3 Whydo most of the Indians financially depend on their children after
retirement?
A3 Bhuvana Rameshwar I'm aParent, aunt, grandparent Tue
Most of the Indians are middle class or upper lower class people with
noinheritance from their parents and ancestors. Whatever they earn goes away in
rent, food, medicines, education, extra tuitions and monthly entertainment if
any.
Only some money is saved for emergency use by some hardworking parents .Some
save as RD for children's college education. No such parent wants their
children to beuneducated. Everybody wants their offsprings to have a better
education,better life than themselves.
Some evensell any jewels or small land they own for this.
So most saved money goes for education and higher university education.
Someparents take education loans from banks too and pay them in EMIs as long
asthey can . This goes on for years together. Every month a good percentagethus
goes for paying the bank debts.
Some even withdraw their lifetime savings like PF, pension after retirement for
getting their sons /daughters high quality education, sons goingabroad too for
studying and ofcourse for daughters’ marriage expenses.
Thus at the end of the day theyhaven't saved anything for themselves. The
mother may not even have much jewels except her daily, simple wear. Some have a
pension but that isn't enough as their education and job wasn'tgreat. Very few
have their own place of stay thanks to another fat loan andEMI.
If theywanted they could have selfishly saved more for themselves and let the
childrengo for simple education or simple jobs. But they didn't.
You people made them paupers indirectly or directly. So what is wrong ifthey
expect to stay with you or expect money from you? Unfortunately theycannot die
after retirement. Sorry for being so blunt.
Simple lower class people like our migrant labourers, sincerely, sendmoney home
to parents or bring parents with them to their places of work.
Even financially self- reliant parents expect your company, love, careand
respect. Nothing wrong in giving them what they need.
My note- Even pension is notsufficient for retired governmentemployees, unless
retired from higher cadres like IRS,IAS etc
Q4 Whatis the blood pressure of a healthy person?
A4 Arbab Aslam STUDENT atC. V. Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar

can take steps each day to keep your blood pressure in a healthy range
Q5 Wehave a two floor house. On the ground floor lives my uncle and on
the 1st floorme and my family. Now we are doing renovation inside our portion
but he isthreatening to bring a stay order. Is it possible?
A5 Prasanna Bhalerao I havesome experience in real estate deals. June
13
As long as your renovation isnot disturbing the structural integrity of the
house, there is no need to worry. Maybe your house isold, maybe your house has
a load-bearing structure. Damage to walls can snapthe integrity and safety of a
load-bearing structure. If the house has an RCCframe, make sure that your
renovation is not harming the columns, the beams andthe slab.
If the renovation is a matterof changing floor tiles, redecorating,
re-furnishing, refurbishing, new modernmodular kitchen, etc. - basically
interiors only, then there is no reason foryour uncle to worry.
You can explain your position with plans, designs, etc. If your uncledoes not
agree, then he can try whatever he likes but beyond a nuisance value,it won’t
stand legal.
It is my lurking suspicion that your uncle would not like all the
noise, disturbance, many people coming in and going out and that is the main
cause ofanxiety.
Q6 Whatis the history of Sathatha Sri Vaishnava?
A6 Srinivasan V Ramayya ,Prof. of History Answered June 2, 2020
Sathatha Sri Vaishnavas: also known as Chattada Sri Vaishnavas or SattadaSri
Vaishnavas, are a caste living throughout the Indian states of AndhraPradesh,
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. For several centuries, they have rendered
a variety ofservices in Sri Vaishnava temples as archakas, dharmakartas,
andguardians of temple properties and suppliers of flowers for worship.
They have claimed Brahmin status, although this has been contested.
They are a Telugu caste originally from the Chola-ruled regions of SouthIndia
now known as North Arcot and South Arcot, and also the Northern Circars.
Theyhave operated schools from the time of Ramanuja, in the 12th century.
Theysubsequently migrated to other areas.
The community wasassociated with the Tengalai movement, which identified them
as a partof one of the two Srivaishnaivite sects that had frequently quarreled
with eachother since the death of Ramanuja in 1137.
The Tengalais, or "southerners", preferred Tamil languagereligious texts and
their counterparts, the Vadagalais("northerners") were in favour of Sanskrit
sources.
The two groups also had doctrinal differences. The cumulative effect ofthese
differences was that the Tengalai were more liberal, radical andsocially
inclusive than the Vadagalai, and thus attracted to their ranks alarger number
of people from castes that were considered to be low in statusand, indeed,
people who were thought to be completely outside the caste system.
Known as Satani, Sattada, Chattada,, the 1931 Census Report forearstwhile
Mysore stated that "the request that the name Satani to bechanged to Sattada
Sri Vaishnava could not be accepted”.
There are several sub-sectsamong the Sathatha Sri Vaishnava. Many follow
alifestyle like that of the Iyengars. Their names have the honorarysuffix
Ayyangar and the title acharya, swamy. The Srirangam Kovil Olugu recordsthat
this community served in the Srirangam temple at the time of Ramanuja andthat
he assigned them special duties and services in his reorganization of thetemple.
My note- This QA is added justfor information sake.
Q7 Whatshould you never say to a doctor?
A7 Tiny Nair Cardiologistat PRS Hospital, Trivandrum Updated January
10, 2020
Never Never-Memory test
‘So doctor how are you?’ ‘I am fine thank you.’
‘So do you remember me?’
I give the best South Indian nod that can both mean yes or no depending on
which side of Vindhyas youcome from.
‘So you can’t remember me?’
(I remain silent; but this is what I want to tell you - I have a verypoor
memory, if you have come to check that out; you are absolutely right. Ifyou
have come to ask for an opinion on a cardiology problem, you better startright
away)
Knowledge Check
‘Doctor, I am taking your BP medicines and I am fine’.
By the way, my son, a software engineer in the USA told me that there isa new
machine available that can monitor blood pressure at night. In America, they
give medicines for BP only after checking all these’.
(My heart beat fast; this is what I want to tell you, but still I remainsilent
- I was one of the principal investigator of the largest published trialof
ambulatory BP in India; Iam a faculty for the American College of Cardiology
(ACC); I do regularABPM workshops in the India and abroad. I am in the
editorial board of a majorhypertension journal )
’Ohh yes yes, American medicine is so advanced’. I tell him, smiling.
Scare Tactic
‘I had met Dr **** in New Delhi; and he told me 10 years back that myheart was
absolutely fine. I am sure, you know Dr ****; he was the doctorlooking after
the president of India..... He told me not to take any cardiacmedicine even if
someone prescribed one.
I have come to you just to confirm it; you see now a days doctors
giveunnecessary medicines....’
‘Yes, Yes, Dr ********** was great’ (I add couple of extra stars, despitethe
fact that I have never heard the name of such a stalwart).
‘Can I just check you for amoment?’ I make humble last ditch effort.
(I see 4.5+1+3+3 = 11 going down the drain).
Take Home-You go to a doctor for consultation, an opinion (I am nottalking
about an emergency).
You should do enough research before you select as to whom to see. Aftera first
opinion, you are free to take a second opinion, and if those two aredivergent,
a third one, since nothing is more important to you than your life.
But once you see the doctor, make sure that he focuses on your medical problems.
Do not try to test the strength of his memory, check the depth ofhis knowledge
or impress or scare him by dropping big names, or suggesting thepossible
diagnosis that you think you are suffering from.
For your sake.If you are wondering what’s those numbers meant; yearsspent in
finishing MBBS + Internship + MD + DM.
Q8 Howdid Einstein discover relativity without doing an experiment
beforehand?
A8 Peter In science,"Gee, that's funny" is better than "Eureka!"March
29
Relativity was the result of two things:
Einstein’s long termfascination (since boyhood) withthe question of relative
motion and speed. When he was riding on a trolley hewondered what it would be
like to ride on a beam of light. This is athought-experiment.
An attempt to explain resultsof actual experiments, esp.Michelson Morley (see
other answers for details). But I’d say it’s number 1 thatis key.
