Q1         Why does water not burn? What makes water so unique that it doesn’t
have any smell or taste, or smellwhen we boil it?

A1          Geoffrey Widdison Beenlearning science since I was six, still
getting started. Thu

Water doesn’t burn, in the sense of reacting with oxygen to produce
heat, because it’s already ‘burnt’. Water already contains as much oxygen as it
canstably hold, it’s what you get when you burn hydrogen (or
anyhydrogen-containing compound) in the air. It’s already given up all
it’senergy, and is now in a pretty stable state.

Why it doesn’t taste or smellis actually a little more interesting. The reason
is because we’re mostly madeof water.

When you smell or taste something, it means that your smell and tastereceptors
respond to it and send a signal to your brain. There’s simply no reason
forthose receptors to respond to something they’re exposed to all the time.(In
fact, if you’re in environment with a constant smell, eventually your bodywill
acclimate, and you’ll stop noticing that, too.

Your tongue is constantlycovered with water, and your nasal receptors are kept
constantly wet. They couldn’t work properly if they weren’t. So, if theysomehow
responded to the presence of water, you’d be smelling and tasting thatall the
time, and couldn’t smell or taste anything else.

In a sense, the smell and tasteof water are the baseline state we experience
our whole lives. So it only makes sense that our body would ignore it.

Q2         If Duryodhana did notabduct Bhanumati, there is a high chance she
might have garlanded Yudhishthira. What will be the changes in the Mahabharata
story if this scenario possiblyoccurred?

A2          Kavana N Lives inBangalore, Karnataka. Fri

Did Yuddhishtra attend the Swayamvara??.I have not read that
Yuddhishtraattended the Swayamvara of Bhanumati ,so he getting Garlanded was
not possible.

But if it still happened, very big change wouldn't have happened.Duryodhana
would have married another women and Bhanumati would be in the placeof Devika
(Yuddhishtra's second wife).

At the most, Kalinga kingdomwould have fought from the side of Pandavas in
Kurukshetra war.

Q3         In India, if you ownland, how far above and below do you own?

A3          Prasanna Bhalerao I havesome experience in real estate deals. June
19

In India, you can build a basement as deep as you can afford to dig andmore
importantly, as per sanctioned plan.

However, you do not own any natural resources ortreasures found while digging.

I think only water is allowed (you can construct a standard well or abore well
and use the water free of charge).

Q4         If I ate mint candy andspit saliva, does my saliva cool or will
nothing happen?

A4          Ken Saladin Formerprofessor of histology (microscopic anatomy) Thu

Mint doesn’t change thetemperature of the mouth or saliva. It just stimulates
the nerve endings(trigeminal nerve, I think) in away that creates a sensation
or illusion of coolness.

If it were measured with a thermometer, I feel sure you would see noeffect on
the true oral temperature.

Q5         Do you think a 2nd AC isa good option as for traveling in India,
since the first AC is not available inevery train?

A5          Prasanna Bhalerao Knowsabout trains. Thu

The AC 2-Tier is a perfectly good option to travel in India. It hasnearly all
the facilities of AC First Class except:

There are no individual cabins or coupes that can be locked from inside.

There is less space inside - nearly 30% less space, if not lesser.

Food served is not cooked in the pantry car but from standard mealsprovided by
IRCTC and vendors.

Food is not served in proper china dishes with crockery.

You don’t get hot showers.

Otherwise, all facilities are the same. The first point (regardinglockable
cabins, privacy and safety) is probably the most important factor. It is not as
if AC 2 Tier ishighly crowded or meals are inferior or showers are
important(except maybe very long journeys of 18 hours or more).

Q6         Why has no one invented apit-less cherry? We have seedless
watermelons, why not seedless cherries?

A6          Franklin Veaux ProfessionalWriterJune 6

That’s a really interesting question, and one that goes right to theheart of
the way different plants grow.

Seedless watermelons and seedless grapes are possible because in fruit where
the body of thefruit contains many seeds, the fruit forms first, and then the
seeds developwithin it.

Contrary to popular misconception, things like seedless grapes
aren’tgenetically modified. Instead, the developing fruit are sprayed with
chemical plant hormones that disrupt seedformation.

On the other hand, cherries and similar fruit belong to a differentcategory of
plants that develop differently. The seed grows first, then the flesh of the
fruit growsaround the seed. If the seed doesn’t form, then no fruit forms.

Q8         What's the reason behindthe sudden drop of a water droplet like
substance on the skin out of nowhere? Is it spiritual or some scientific
phenomenon?

A8   3 Answers Daisey Johnson , Hallucination effects UpdatedMay 5

This has happened to me a number of times over the years, the most recentbeing
a couple of hours ago which has got me here. It's always the same I amindoors,
its it is not raining, there is no sign of leak in the ceiling and for no
apparent reason I feel asmall drop of water on my skin.

Today it was three or four times on my hands arm but I have felt all overthe
body over the years. I feel it the most when I expect it or think of it .Ihave
also felt it when my legs are under the table.

It doesn't depend on thewetness but on how wetness sensors are working.

Hearing by first time it is difficult to understand the completescenario, but
sometimes itmay be due to mental illness or some kind of halogination you are
facing rightnow.

No such scientific reasons are defined yet. And no such observations havebeen
seen commonly.

Still as a part of suggestionyou should stop overthinking and take proper sleep
as well.

Sometimes goosebumps or sudden touch of anything to your skin even thenwhen you
are in a deep thought may make you surprised, but don't worry it is nothing but
suddensecretion of harmons called adrenaline which is nothing but a fear harmone
