Q1         Whattastes like water even if it is not water?

A1          Anuradha Srinivasan , works at Osmania University Answered2m a go

Our perception of flavor is based on aroma, and the five basic tastes:sweet,
salty, bitter, sour and savory. Pure water does not contain compounds that
elicit any ofthese tastes, and has a neutral scent, so we deem it "tasteless.

Q2         Whohas the right to the window seats in the Indian Railways' Sleeper
Class/ 2AC?If you get the upper and middle berth, does the lower berth person
let you sitat the window at all, or is it reserved for him/her?

A2          PrasannaBhalerao Knows about trains.Mon

In the Sleeper and AC3-Tier each berth and seat is clearly marked.

Daytime Window Seat →Night time Lower berth

Daytime Middle Seat →Night time Middle Berth

Daytime Aisle Seat →Night time Upper Berth

The window seat isreserved for the lower berth seat holder. S/he has the full
right. He may allowyou to sit there. That is her/his indulgence.

In AC 2-Tier, there isno middle berth.

My note- Most passengers in AC2nd class window seat might  REQUEST
co-aislepassenger to sit on window side  for morethan 50% of journey time

Q3         What is the most ridiculous thing a cophas done to you?

A3          Karen Gee Studied at Morgan State University (Graduated1969)Tue

When I was 67 years old I was walking up the street carrying 2 largebags. 3
police were blocking my path. 2 of them immediately moved to clear apath
allowing me to pass - the 3rd did not budge. I had to walk around him ashe
glared at me. But, imo it was a perfect example of the department. Most
officers are decent humanbeings.

When you are confronted with 1bad apple the solution is not to chop down the
entire tree.

Q5  Doesparacetamol have any sort of medicinal benefits (besides the stated
ones)? Canit be taken as a supplement?

A5   Franklin Veaux Professional Writer Wed

No.

In fact, it’s quite toxic. (Well, technically, themetabolic byproducts are
toxic, but six of one…)

It is a mild painkiller and anti-inflammatory hampered by the fact itpoisons
liver cells. Normally your body produces an enzyme that mops up thetoxic
metabolites, but it’s still a poison and youdon’t want to take it regularly if
you don’t have to.

In fact, it’s so toxic that if it were invented today, I highly doubt itwould
ever be approved for over the counter use.

My note- One should not useparacetamol  unless there is high pain

Q6      How do UV rays purify water?

A6          2 Answers Neha Zacwadh, Manager at Stock
Exchanges(2017-present)Answered Thu

A UV water purifier exposes living organisms, such as bacteria, viruses,or
cysts (like Cryptosporidium and Giardia) to a germicidal ultravioletwavelength.
With enoughenergy, UV radiation at the 254-nm wavelength disrupts the DNA in
pathogenicmicroorganisms so they cannot reproduce. The ultraviolet
lightprevents bacteria from spreading disease through drinking water.

UV dosage is the measurement of energy (in mJ/cm²) delivered by a UVwater
purifier. The more dosage provided, the more energy delivered to
treatcontaminated water. At a certain threshold, this energy becomes
sufficientenough to inactivate most of the microorganisms present in water.

What does a UV disinfection remove?

UVdisinfection deactivates living organisms, but it does not remove
particlesfrom water, add chemicals, or remove bad tastes and odors.

UV disinfection treats water for:

    Cryptosporidium    Giardia   Dysentery bacilli

    Salmonella    Mycobacterium tuberculosis

    Streptococcus    E. coli   Hepatitis B

    Cholera    Algae   Fungi    Some viruses

2ND ANSWER RiyaMehra, Sales Manager at Blogger (2019-present)Answered Thu

In the range of water purifiers, you will find that there are different
filtrationtechnologies available in the market starting from RO, UV to UF,which
will undoubtedly make the water fit for consumption.

Coming to your question, in the highly advanced water purifiers, UV lamps are
installed and thiscan deactivate the micro-organisms and other pathogens from
thewater and make it fit for consumption. Water that passes the UV rays kills
allthe harmful pathogens and ensure that you can drink 100% pure and
cleandrinking water.

Removal of all the harmfulpathogens from the water will make sure that you
don’t get affected by the waterborne diseases.

Q10              Asa frequent traveller, what is the big change you want to see
in IndianRailways?

A10        Prasanna Bhalerao Knows about trains. Mon

These are changes that I would like to see:

End of touts.    End ofunauthorised people allowed entry into reservation
coaches.

Tighter security; a policeman at each gate to monitor smooth ingress andegress
of passengers; so two policemen per coach.

One TTE per coach or one between two coaches.

Fine on people who soil and dirty the coaches, damage the equipment, etc.

Q12              Whydoes my ear make a cracky noise when I’m swallowing or
moving my throat muscle? Is that common?

A12        Amy Chai MD, Internal Medicine, MS Epidemiology Mon

Congestion.

The air pressure equalizes on both sides of your eardrum. The insideportion of
this pressure equalizer is inside your nose. There is an openingcalled the
eustachian tube that runs from your nose to the back side of yourear drum. When
you “pop” your ears to adjust to flying in an airplane ordriving down a big
hill, you are feeling the pressure equalize around your eardrum through opening
the eustachian tube.

When your nose is stuffy, your ears can feel stuffy or “underwater”because that
tube is swollen shut due to snot.

A little allergy or inflammation can cause a problem with crackling orpopping
too much. Sometimes you can get a fluid built up behind the eardrum, oran ear
infection. It is good when you can pop the ears because it means you arenot too
congested.
