Pranam This National Cyber Security Awareness Month, we're re-emphasizing the importance of SAFETY FIRST!
We request you to take the following precautions in order to protect your card and account from fraud. 1. Fraudsters posing as bank staff may lure/threaten you into divulging account/card credentials and OTPs over call or via a webpage link. Always remember that bank employees will never ask for your personal banking details like card number, CVV, password, PIN or OTP. Never share your account/card related information or OTP via any links or over calls with anyone, including Bank staff. 2. Do not download remote access apps like Anydesk, QuickSupport, TeamViewer, etc. on the request or insistence of an unknown caller, even if they claim to be bank staff. Such apps give third-parties remote access to your mobile device/screen, who could then perform transactions on your device. Unknown callers may subsequently carry out fraudulent transactions using your account/card. 3. At ATMs, beware of any object/device on the card slot or PIN pad. If anything looks suspicious, don't use your card, and inform the bank. Stay cautious. While you input your PIN on the ATM keypad, cover your actions using your hands. Never handover your card to any unknown person for assisting you to carry out ATM transactions. If an unknown person is standing too close to you at the ATM, ask the person to move away. 4. While shopping, please ensure that your card is swiped in your presence and do not allow the merchant/shopkeeper to take your card away from your sight. Collect your charge slips and carefully discard them after settling your accounts. 5. Always use a unique/difficult to guess PIN/password for your card, internet and mobile banking. Change your PIN/password regularly, and do not share with anyone. Please do not write your PIN/password on your card or anywhere. 6. Set daily limits for various transaction modes (ATM/POS/Contactless/Online) or enable/disable domestic and/or international usage of your card, as per your requirement through internet or mobile banking. This would restrict the amount misused in case of any unauthorized usage. *Important Information:* Please also note that you can report complaints related to cyber frauds at National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal of Ministry of Home Affairs at *https://cybercrime.gov.in <http://t.emailers.idfcbank.com/r/?id=h1dc0fa96,90c141c,90c1420>* or call the helpline number 155260.
