THERE ARE SMELLING FLOWERS

Today it wasraining in the morning. Every year I give life certificate to the
bank where Idraw pension,   in the month of November, between 1st and 15th
.Mostgive life certificate during the period so that pension isdrawn by the
month end. I assure writing in dairy on first of November- LIFECERTIFICATE.

It is in the wakeof my forgetting to give life certificate about 10 years back.
I found pensionwas not drawn, and on query the staff member asked- Did you give
life certificate? I ran tothe section and gave life certificate and got pension
by 15th of themonth.

However by 10 AM sunlight came and I called myregular auto driver. He reported
to me in 5 minutes.

I checked everythingI have taken, copy of Aadhar card, pan card and Pension
pass book. Somehow Imissed to take copy of wife’s Aadhar.  Irecollected it
after almost reaching branch.

The lifecertificate form was made ready by the bank, taking Xerox to issue to
thepensioners. I collected and filled up the form, attached my Xerox of Aadhar
andpan with self-attestation.  I went to thecounter.

The Lady staff inthe counter welcomed with a smile, gone through and asked to
get certified byDeputy Manager.

He was indiscussion with another customer. I waited outside his cabin. In two
minutes hecompleted the discussion and called me. He looked at my face, photo
in passbook, account number and certified with his stamp in two locations and
gaveback to me suggesting the counter where I have to give. It was the same
counterwhere I first checked. Most probably some pensioners who were earlier in
highpositions might be directly meeting him.

The staff atcounter, in between other works simply received my certificate,
assured signatureand stamp of deputy manager was there and said OK sir with a
smile. Wife’s dateof birth given was sufficient.

The bank is busyall times, always customers in counters, but I felt the staff
and officers aredoing best to customers with a pleasing attitude.

I have made thisposting in the wake of so many staff and junior officers from
North India feel boredof repeated and not able to cope with pressure of work
and resigning.  I have included many such staff views incultural QA.

I draw my pensionin State Bank of India, Selaiyur branch. I found a lot of
smelling flowers (staff, officers) and real smelling flowers in the newly
shifted well-arranged bank, with good amenities to customers for sitting,
writing etc.

Bank is in 1stfloor; Lift as well as stairs is provided.  Parking area for two
wheelers is there. ATMsand Passbook printing and cheque deposit box is in the
ground floor with amplespace in the enclosure.
