Q1           My friend’s train ticket is confirmed AC3. I'm in RAC. CanI share
berth with my friend AC3?

A1         Prasanna Bhalerao Knows about trains.Fri

I am assuming that you also have the RAC ticket in AC 3-Tiersleeper class.

If yes, as a passenger with RAC ticket, you are guaranteedentry to the reserved
AC 3-Tier sleeper coach and a sitting accommodation. Yourfriend has a confirmed
berth in the same class. Following possibilities exist:

Your RAC seat may be in a different coach. Sohow can you share berth? If
you do, your fellow RAC passenger gets the fullberth and enjoy while you still
cannot.

Your friend mayhave lower, middle or upper berth. At night, berths will
drawn. So how will youadjust?

But what can happen is that you can make adjustment and taketurns sleeping
(especially for a long journey).

If no, and if you hold Second class non-AC sleeper RACticket, you cannot
officially go to the AC class coach. Unofficially you can dothat but then your
friend has to and occupy your seat.

My note- If RAC isin  sleeper class, he cannot enter AC coach since AC coaches
doors through vestibule is closed after 9PM. Ifhe is in the same coach, he can
adjust with his friend.

Most RAC nowadays gets berth after TT check the occupant’s list.

Q2           Why can't other birds fly to the height eagles can reach?

A2           Amy ChristaErnano Armchair ornithologist; birds fascinate meNov 2

Who says they don't? The highest-flying bird in the world isRuppell's vulture,
which has been confirmed at 37,000 feet, or seven miles up.Canada geese have
been recorded at 29,000 feet, or almost six miles up. Beardedvultures have been
recorded at 24,000 feet, and even the humble mallard hasbeen seen at 21,000
feet.

In fact, of the tenhighest-flying bird species on Earth, not one is an eagle.

Eagles, as well as hawks, soar at moderate heights searchingfor food, which
they locate using their excellent vision. Smaller bird specieshunt smaller
prey, which they wouldn't be able to see from as high up. Ared-tailed hawk can
spot a mouse from a mile up, but an American robin has tobe on the ground to
hunt worms.

Q5           Do rabbits eat mushrooms?

A5           Amy ChristaErnano Proud mom of a rabbit named EddieNov 5

No. No, no, no. Wildrabbits don't eat mushrooms, and pet rabbits should never
be offered them (although Idoubt any rabbit would eat one even if offered).
Mushrooms, even those that are safe for humans, are toxic to rabbits and can
make themsick or even kill them.

Never, ever feed arabbit mushrooms of any kind. Stick with their normal diet —
pellets, hay, and fresh, leafy greens, with the occasional treat of a bit of
fruit or safe veggie likecarrot, cucumber, celery, or bell pepper.

Q6           If someone swallows a coin, will the coin be melted bystomach
acid, given the pH of stomach acid is around 1.5 - 3.5?

A6           Gary CooperEats frequentlyNov 2

I’ve known small children who swallowed coins at one time oranother. When the
coins came out the other end (which they did), the coins’ outer surfaces
werecorroded, but the coins were not dissolved. Some of these kids’ parents
keptthe coins in question as souvenirs.

I suppose a coin would dissolve completely if you left it instomach acid for a
long enough time, but the nature of the digestive tract isthat the contents
keep moving through it, and then out of it. Unless there issomething really
wrong with the person’s digestion, a coin doesn’t stay in the stomach long
enoughfor all the metal to dissolve.

Q7           Can you transport a washing machine lying down or does itneed to
be upright?

A7           2 Answers LS Ganapati,Chartered Engineer&Independent Consultant
(1969-present) Answered Apr 28,2020

Washing machine can be transported lying down, provided there are no majorjerks
due to rash driving or big pot holes on the road.

Avoid major lateral shifts during transit due to loosepositioning of the
machine.

Yes you can. But take precautions lest you damage the WM.

Like a refrigerator(also a household equipment), it’s recommended you move a
washing machine stoodupright. If extremeconditions don’t permit, transport it
laid on either of the sides which don’thave protruding water pipes.

Most importantly - and if possible - find a qualifiedtechnician to establish if
there’s any loose or dislocated component when themachine has reached its
destination.

And because you’removing the WM in a none recommended way, you should move with
much care onrough terrains.

Q8           Why is it bad to drive your car immediately after startup?

A8           Steve BakerTue

For a gasoline/diesel engined car, you need to allow time forthe lubricants to
warm up and to work their way into the places they need tobe.

It used to be, with MUCH older cars, that you’d let it idlefor a minute or so
before putting it in gear and moving off.

But with modern cars, the general advice is that you can drive immediately -
just don’t rev the engine hard until you’vedriven a few blocks.

Of course, if you havean electric car…do what you like, it doesn’t care.

Q9           When human skeletal remains are found, how can scientistsdetermine
whether the bones are male or female?

A9           laireJordan Nov 2

DNA testing if they can get any DNA. Otherwise they can makea fair guess based
onthe width of the pelvis and also how slender (gracile) the bonesare.

Women nearly always have a substantially wider pelvis andpelvic gap, and often
more gracile bones, a more delicate jaw and lesspronounced brow ridges. Women
are also usually shorter.

Q10         Theoretically, could the Netherlands, one day, be one bigcity?

A10          HaddockLives in Toronto, ON (1959–present)Oct 21

Not a chance.

One of the first things you notice in The Netherlands is howcities stop dead.
There is no “urban sprawl” in The Netherlands. You’re eitherin an urban area or
a rural one, and usually the boundary is a road.

The Netherlands is already the most densely populated countryin Europe. It fits
a population larger than Pennsylvania’s in a territorythat’s about a third
bigger than Maryland.

But it still has to feed itself and it goes out of its way tomaintain
agricultural land. At one time, it farmed grassy areas aroundairports. You
simply can’t get permission to build on a rural lot unless it’s afarmer’s
house. In nearby Belgium, it’s common to see communities spring upalong main
roads. Not in the Netherlands - the roads are either running byfields or
tightly packed houses.

In fact, the Dutch are experimenting with floating housesdesigned to create
housing in places like tidal estuaries near the big cities. There’s lots of
those.
