Q1            How do you look after your air conditioner from time totime?

Gopala Krishnan, former AssistantGeneral Manager  1996-2004 at Departmentof
Telecom (1966-2004)Answered 2:28 pm

Company free service is there forone year. After that we can take periodic
maintenance with company, paying forvisits and parts. I was doing so till two
years back. In front of my home an ACrepair and service opened at that time,
and I changed to them for instantservice. They do very quality work, with some
reduction of amount since infront of my home. In my view if expert service
centre is there, it is best for old AC units. Fromsomewhere they get spares,
and make the unit best serviced.

Q3            Why should one avoid eating 2-minute Maggi noodles?

A3            BhuvanaRameshwar Prefer healthy food 4h

Simple answer.. All instant noodles have Too much sodium salt.. Bad forour
kidneys, causes high BP

Made of refined flour (even wholewheat noodles have mostly refined flour) .. No
fibre in it. This leads toconstant constipation, abdomen discomfort, piles
problem, and finally rectaland colon cancer.

Have trans fat like vegetable fats.Cause cholesterol and may cause blood tubes
to get blocked, especially the tinycapillaries that carry blood to muscles of
the heart. This causes heart attack.

Cause increase in body weight, flabby body, unhealthy weight on body is a burden
for the heart which suppliesblood to extra body muscles and fatty cells .

Has only carbohydrate and transfats, no vitamins, minerals, no proteins unless
you add veg, nv or eggs.

May contain lead, mono sodiumglutamate. Both harmful to humans and animals.

P. S. If you have tomato sauce withnoodles by default add again lots of extra
salt, sugar and preservatives.. Allbad for you.

Mynote- Occasional use does not matter. Children like it and they don’t face
constipation problems much.

Q4            Why do airlines always fly so early? Why do I have to beat the
airport at 4 am? I honestly don't understand why I can't get a nice 11am flight.

A4            JohnMcGowan Former Pilot - DC9/8, L1011, A330/340, B727/767/777
at Airlines(1972–2018)Mon

There are some very good answers inthis thread already, but thereis one
consideration that was overlooked.

In the Middle East, long-rangeoperations were planned to depart late at night
and early morning. The reason was aircraft performance.Often we were operating
at restricted weights due to outside temperature. The higher the temperature,
the less the aircraft can lift (the air isthinner). By operating at night and
early morning, the temperaturesare much cooler permitting the aircraft to
depart with more payload (passengersand cargo). Forlong flights carrying large
fuel loads, this is especially important.

Thisis one consideration for the necessity of getting you out of bed at such
anunreasonable hour.

Q5            Should I join MBBS in government college or computerscience
engineering in a tier 3 government college in India?

A5                     Niranjan  General Practitioner Tue

Obviously you should join MBBS in a governmentmedical college if you are
getting one, even if it is a newly opened college.

See, many years back when I passedout of school, my cutoff marks was higher for
engineering than medicine. Still I chose medicine becausethat's what I wanted
to pursue.

Some of my friends who got the sameengineering cutoff marks as mine joined MIT
chromepet/SSN.

The life of a medical student andengineering student is poles apart. You should
never ever compare.

By the time a medical student is infinal year his/her engineering peer would be
placed in a good job and wouldsoon start earning.

After internship when a young mbbsdoctor takes a drop year to prepare for PG
entrance examinations and whenfinally clears it, his/her engineering peers
would have finished an MBA andwould be earning a
double/triple/quadruple/quintuple/ sometimes even sextupletimes your stipend.

There is a “common” NEET PGentrance examination in our country but not a common
stipend. My statetamilnadu gives 48k/49k/50k Rs per month as stipend whereas
gujarat gives84k/85k/87k Rs per month for the postgraduates pursuing MS/MD's.

It would take around 27 to 35 yearsof age(depending upon the speciality one
pursues) to settle down if you joinmedicine but it will be worth it only if you
have some passion inside you.

Now, just look at this desk, Whichside of the desk you would opt to sit? Decide
wisely.

Q7            What are the favorite things of Lord Krishna that aperson can
give (besides love and devotion)? For example, favorite food, favorite flowers,
etc.

A7  Padmini Aspiring devotee Nov 13

Tulasi

Krishna loves Tulasi leaves. That'swhy they are called as Krishna jeevani —
life of Krishna. It is so dear toKrishna that he said he comes to stay along
with radha, wherever there is agarden of Tulasi

And there are two types of Tulasi:Krishna Tulasi, Rama Tulasi. Both of these
Tulasi are used in the worship ofKrishna.

Lotus

Lotus flowers are considered sacredin Sanatan Dharm. Its purity, beauty and
divinity are such that all Devas willbe instantly pleased by offering lotus
flowers to them. Krishna also likeslotus as it is the birth place of Maa
lakshmi in which she always resides. Heeven wears garland of lotus along with
Vyjayanthi mala. So lotus offeringsdefinitely delight Krishna.

 Shankh ( conch shell)

If available keep a Shankh nearKrishna's idol as it is dear to Vishnu and all
his avataras.

Brahmavivarta purana says

Shankha is the residence of both Lakshmi and Vishnu. BathingKrishna with
waters led by Shankh is auspicious and virtuous.

Some even do pooja to Shankh beforedoing pooja of Krishna.

 favourites of Radha

Radha is epitome of Krishna prema .She is his pleasure potency and soul of
Krishna —krishna praanadhika. Henceanything that is favourite to Radha becomes
favourite of Krishna too. Radhalikes flowers of kadamba trees. So they made it
on to the list of Krishna'sfavourites.

 Butter

Krishna's fondness for butter isnot any unknown fact to his devotees.

Generally it is offered as Nivedanato Krishna on janmashtami. But one can
include it in daily offerings too.

Besides butter krishna likes alldairy products and sweets made with cow's milk.

 Peacock feather

Decoration of Krishna is incompletewithout a peacock feather. He loves adorning
his idol with it. So if availableoffer him a peacock feather.

And anything which is offered with love and devotion to Krishna pleaseshim. But
as you asked his favourite things keeping love and devotion aside Ilisted these.

These are Krishna's favourites asfar as I know. I'll keep updating if I get to
know more

have reached 140 per kg and react to petrol and diesel price hikefor 1 rupee?

A8            KanthaswamyBalasubramaniam LawyerWed

Excellent Question

Tomatoes cost Rs. 140/- per KG but in 1 month they can drop to Rs. 15/-per KG

Its pure Demand and Supply andhappens every year

Can Petrol costing Rs. 100/- per Liter drop to Rs. 25/- per Liter in
2Months?????

Of course not

When Petrol goes from Rs. 70/- to Rs. 100/- , whats the chance of it coming to
Rs. 50/- orRs. 60/- or even Rs. 80/-. Tell mefrom experience in India. How many
times have you seen a price go up and then comedown????

Gold? Silver? Petrol? Diesel?

Veggie Prices react simply todemand and supply. If theres a flood, prices shoot

Q10          Do doctors of any specialty stillcarry a doctor's bag? If so,
which kind of doctor would have such a bag?

A10          RobertFrantzB.S., M.D. in Zoology (college major) & Medicine and
Healthcare, TheUniversity of Oklahoma (Graduated 1996)Nov 18

Ialways thought these bags looked cool.

I could just imagine being a doctorand walking into a house at the turn of the
last century carrying one of these. They just aren’t practical anymore with the
evolution of medicine.

MostER doctors I know carry a bag into the hospital every day. It’susually a
back pack or brief case however. Some have reference books, a fewspecial tools
(like a ring cutter or swizzle stick for airways). Usually itcontains some
snacks and caffeine. That is not a real doctor’s bag though.

Thelast specialist in the USA to carry one of these in my experience is
theneurologist. In my opinion, neurologists are the absolute best
physicaldiagnosticians in modern medicine. They will typically have tuning
forks andreflex hammers and all manner of diagnostic aids in their bags. And,
they usethem. Every time I consulted one of these medical geniuses and they
showed upwith this bag of tricks I always took time to watch them work.
