*KR T*here is nothing new in the west theory. The father of Psychology
Sigmund Freud had said," In Freudian
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigmund_Freud> psychoanalysis
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoanalysis>, the term *oral **stage* or
*hemitaxia* denotes the first psychosexual development
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosexual_development> stage wherein the
mouth <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouth> of the infant
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infant> is their primary erogenous zone
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erogenous_zone>. Spanning the life period from
birth to the age of 18 months, the oral stage is the first of the five
Freudian psychosexual development stages: (i) the oral, (ii) the anal
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_stage>, (iii) the phallic
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phallic_stage>, (iv) the latent
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latency_stage>, and (v) the genital
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genital_stage>. Moreover, because it is the
infant's first human relationship—biological (nutritive) and psychological
(emotional)—its duration depends upon the child-rearing mores
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mores> of the mother's society.
Sociologically speaking, the duration of infantile nursing
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_feeding> is determined normatively
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norm_(sociology)>; in some societies it is
common for a child to be nursed by their mother for several years but in
others this period is much shorter. Psychologically
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ego_psychology>, Sigmund Freud
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigmund_Freud> proposed that if the nursing
child's appetite were thwarted during any libidinal
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libido> development stage, the anxiety
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anxiety> would persist into adulthood as a
neurosis <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurosis> (functional mental
disorder).[1] <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_stage#cite_note-1> Therefore,
an infantile *o <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixation_(psychology)>ral
fixation <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixation_(psychology)>* (*oral
craving*) would be manifest as an obsession with oral stimulation; yet, if
weaned <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weaning> either too early or too
late, the infant might fail to resolve the emotional conflicts of the oral,
first stage of psychosexual development
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosexual_development> and they might
develop a maladaptive <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maladaptive> oral
fixation.

The infant who is neglected (insufficiently fed) or who is over-protected
(over-fed) in the course of being nursed, might become an orally-fixated
person. Said oral-stage fixation might have two effects: (i) the neglected
child might become a psychologically dependent adult continually seeking
the oral stimulation denied in infancy, thereby becoming a manipulative
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_manipulation> person in
fulfilling their needs, rather than maturing to independence; (ii) the
overprotected child might resist maturation and return to dependence upon
others in fulfilling their needs. Theoretically, oral-stage fixations are
manifested as garrulousness (talkativeness), smoking
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking>, continual oral stimulus (eating,
chewing objects), and alcoholism <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcoholism>.
Psychologically, the symptoms include a sarcastic, oral sadistic personality
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadistic_personality_disorder>, nail biting
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nail_biting>, oral sexual practices
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_sex> (fellatio
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fellatio>, cunnilingus
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cunnilingus>, analingus
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analingus>, irrumatio
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irrumatio>), et cetera Since Freud's
presentation of the theory of psychosexual development
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosexual_development> in 1905, no
evidence has confirmed that extended breast-feeding
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast-feeding> might lead to an oral-stage
fixation, nor that it contributes to a person becoming maladjusted
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maladaptive> or to developing addictions
(psychologic, physiologic). The pediatrician Jack Newman
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Newman_(doctor)> proposed that breast
feeding a child until they choose to wean
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weaning> (c. 2–4 years of age) generally
produces a more psychologically secure, and independent person Contradicting
the Freudian psychosexual development
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosexual_development> concept of
oral-stage fixation <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixation_(psychology)>,
the *Duration of Breast-feeding and the Incidence of Smoking* (2003) study
of 87 participants reported no causal relation between the breast-feeding
period and whether or not a child matures into a person who smokes. ( Mobbs,
