BEING  A COMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            Is it bad for my health if I eat too many nuts a day?

A1            Lucia Garcia Worked atHospitals Tue

Nuts are the essence of plants and are generally extremely nutritious.

Nuts contain many beneficial ingredients, such as protein, unsaturatedfatty
acids, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamin E, vitamin B family, phosphorus,
magnesium, zinc, potassium, copper, calcium, iron, and variousantioxidants.

Regular eating of nuts cansupplement nutrition and is very beneficial to health.

However, nuts are high-calorie,high-fat foods. If you eat too many nuts, the
excess calories are easilyconverted into fat, leading to the risk of obesity.

Nuts contain a lot of protein and fat. Excessive consumption willincrease the
burden on the gastrointestinal tract, causing abdominal pain, bloating,
constipation and other symptoms of indigestion.

It is recommended to consume 10 grams of nuts a day, such as 2 walnuts, 6
hazelnuts, 5 cashews, 7almonds, 10 pistachios, 30 pumpkin seeds, 12 peanut
kernel etc.

Q2            How do plants grow in nature solo in the crappiestconditions, but
when humans grow plants, they require fertilizers, distilledwater, herbicides,
and pesticides in order to survive?

A2            Pascal Morimacil Worker,Thinker, Writer Sun

Humans try to create big monocultures, where anything else than one particular
species isconsidered a pest, and destroyed on sight.

And the plants struggle.

In nature, the plants are notalone, they have friends, so they can manage even
in quite crappy situations.

There are going to be other plants, “weeds”, that will have sharedinterests in
shading the ground and preventing too much evaporation.

There will be “pests” that will go by, and eat some stuff, and then takea dump
there, providing fresh nutrients.

There will be fungus, that live off the sugars produced by the plant,
andproviding nutrients in return.

There will be buddies coming in to help provide some protection againstthe
elements.

Lots of little tiny critters that live on and around the plant, and theirwaste
provides it with a constant source of nutrition. Algae can grow on rock.
Butit’s not alone, it has a fungus buddy.

Q3            What plant has the deepest root system?

A3            Sascha L Dec 6

Usually trees don’t have it necessary to grow their roots too deep and a fig
tree normally just needs toget its roots 1.5 meters (59 in) deep. In South
Africa there is afig tree specimen that had a much deeper need to dig deep,
though.

For the Echo Caves in South Africa a fig tree accomplished the
seeminglyimpossible!

In the nation of South Africathere is a cave system named the Echo caves and
these caverns are deepunderneath the soil some trees grow on. Fig trees have a
need for a good water supply in order to bear fruit,so one tree did the
seemingly impossible and dug 120 meters (393 ft.) deep intothe earth in its
unstoppable drive for finding water!

It took 70 years for the roots to reach the water and they had to digthrough
massive rocks.

Q4            As a pilot, when you are flying, is taking off reallymore
dangerous than landing?

A4            Andrew McGregor Flownseveral types of light aircraft. Wed

Nope.Taking off is fairly easy and straightforward.

Landing is hard. Really hard. There are so many more ways for a landingto go
wrong.

The easiest ways to have a problem on take off are to have a plane youdon’t
know is broken, or to take off into bad weather.

The thing is, you can solve both of those by doing your pre-flight
workproperly, both inspecting the airplane and investigating the state of
theweather.

When landing, you just have to deal with what you are given.

You tried before take off to ensure the weather would be OK… but based
onimperfect information that might be hours old by the time you arrive. The
planemight have developed a problem in flight.

And you are under some time pressure; you only have so much fuel.

Add that to the simple fact that landing is harder anyway, and landing ismuch
more dangerous.

Not that flying is dangerous in general, but the last 30 seconds or so ofany
flight are the most likely time to have a problem.

Q5            Humans are the most intelligent species on the planet.Does that
include infants?

A5            Steven Haddock Studiedat York University (Canada)Thu

No. Tests done on infants of humans, chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans show
that the other greatapes master certain cognitive skills faster than humans,
such as understandingthat if something was in front of you and you suddenly
can’t see it, it’sprobably fallen down. Orangutans will start looking at the
floor while thestupid baby is still staring into space.

However, once infants start acquiring language(about 12 months of age) they
speed past their ape cousins very quickly and start developing to grasp
conceptsthat apes can’t get. For example, you can teach a three year old that
if itpoints to a small pile of candy, you will give them a larger pile, but
chimpscan’t - they always go for the larger pile and get the smaller one no
matterhow clear it is that will be the outcome. Strangely, if you make it an
abstractproblem by using numbers, chimps will start pointing to the smaller
number andlearn the trick.

But to be fair, human beings are born horribly premature compared totheir ape
cousins. It’s not surprising their huge brains are stillunderdeveloped.

Q7            How could the elephant free himself from the mouth of
thecrocodile?

A7            Bill Sneddon FormerCommercial Diving Instructor/Supervisor at CDA
Technical Institute(2017–2018)Updated 1y

Adult elephants are vastly bigger and stronger thanany crocodiles in its
natural environment. As such, an adult elephant will simply pull the crocodile
out of thewater swing them about, then mud-stomp the crocodile into a bloody
mushypuddle.

Baby elephants are far morevulnerable, and are much easierprey. This stated,
there’s always an adult elephant nearby. And the crocodilerisks getting
attacked by the Mama elephant. But, if Mama is too far away, thecrocodile if
big enough more likely than not succeeds killing the babyelephant.

Q8            What light bulbs require more than one person to fix?

A8            Gary Macdonald, formerRetired Fire Department Captain and EMR IT
(1978-2015) Answered Thu

Any light bulb changed by afolksinger takes four. One tochange it. Three to
sing about how great the old bulb was.

By firefighters: seven. One to change the bulb. One to butt the ladder. One
safety officer.FourRapid Intervention Team members.

By psychiatrists: just one.

But the light bulb really needs to change.

By Chiropractors: just one. But it’ll take nine treatments.

By grad students: just one. Butit takes nine years.

By bureaucrats: two.

One to assure that everything possible is being done. One to screw it intothe
water fountain.

By upper class twits: four.

One to call an electrician. One to mix the martinis. One to complain aboutthe
amount of the bill. One to call their lawyer to launch a suit against
theelectrician.

By existentialists: two.

One to screw it in. One to observe how the lightbulb symbolises a
singleincandescent beacon of subjective reality in a netherworld of endless
absurdityreaching out toward a maudlin cosmos of nothing.

My note- By electricinas/skilledpeoples 2. One to take out the bulbafter switch
off the supply. Another to hold stool/ladder and collect the oldbulb, give the
new bulb while the first one requires. After the firstfitted  the bulb, get
down and switch onthe light .  If not perfectly fitted, heswitches off the
supply, again fit. The person holding the ladder/stool should not control the
switch. Especially with tube lights itis a must.

Q9            How do the Gujaratis, Marwadis and Chettiyars have suchamazing
business sense?

A9            Balaji ViswanathanCEOof Invento Robotics.Updated 1y

People of the deserts areusually good in money lending and trading. Chettiars
come from a dry, less fertile south-east Tamil Nadu. Marwaris a part of the
Thar desert. Gujarat is one of the driest states in India. Andsame with the
Sindh region. Internationally, the people from dry areas like theJews, Pathans,
Arabs are all known for their trading skills.

People of fertile plains withless uncertainties don’t have a habit of storing a
lot. They have enough jobs producing things — food, art etc. Think of
theAmerican middle class or Indian IT class now — they take their earnings
forgranted and spend more than they should.

People from dry, dangerouslands don’t have that luxury. They will never know
when the next rain would come. Thus, they tend to meticulously saveand are very
prudent in spending. In the absence of opportunity to produce alot, they tend
to focus their talents on trading goods. Their ability to saveresults in
surplus resources that often need to be invested. A lot of it isused in
moneylending to outside communities. But, their trading businesses alsoneed
these surplus capital. A symbiotic relationship forms.

While a people from a prosperous territory might never be motivated tomove out,
in the desert you have to move to survive. Thus, in these tradingcommunities it
is considered a shame to not move out of home to seek wealthoutside. They fan
around the world building relationships.

And to handle money, trade andlife outside home, they develop strong kinship
ties and layers of trust. Theseinfrastructure become very critical for building
large networks.

This is primarily about trading type businesses. Regardingentrepreneurship,
this advantage is no longer as significant. Thus, inbusinesses outside of
banking and trading you see a fair level of diversity. Here you can see the
skills of people like Narayana Murthy, Shiv Nadar, VijayShekhar Sharma produce
great companies too.

Q10         How do you connect two washing machine drain hoses together?

A10          Roger Fentiman , FatherChristmas Impersonator 364 days per
yearAnswered May 12, 2020

You can’t just T-them together to go into a side feed on a U-trap becausethe
pressure in one will cause some of the drain water to flow into the
othermachine.

You can hook both outlet hoses into one downpipe with a U-trap at the bottom,
becausethe air gap at the top will isolate the two flow pressures.

Q11         All humans have very similar features like 5 fingers andeyelashes.
Are we all more related to each other than we think?

A11          Claire Jordan Degree inbiology and folklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaperSep 18

Um, no, we’re as related as we think we are. We’re all one species, therefore
weonly differ from each other in quite minor ways such as height, build
andcolouration (birth defects aside).

The only species whereindividuals differ radically are ones like domestic dogs
and fancy pigeons that humans have mucked about with in extreme ways.Humans are
more like horses- horses come in a lot of different colours, sizes, builds and
degrees ofhairiness, but they’re still all obviously variations on a common
theme.

Q12         Which country would come last in terms of eatingnon-vegetarian food?

A12          Mahi I love history andgeography Jun 16

So you are asking country with least non vegetarians. Simple answer India.

India has the most number of vegetarians and even non vegetarians avoidflesh
and eggs in certain days in a week if they are Hindus.

India is the only country that has authentic vegetarian cuisine formillennia
and spread the idea of vegetarianism to the entire world first.

In case if you are askingcountry with most non vegetarian then my vote will go
for Portugal.A Portugal dish that combine meat and fish. Only1.2% people
identify themselves as vegetarian which is least in the entireworld.
