Q1            Doesguava cause weight gain?

A1            Lucia Garcia Worked atHospitals8h

Guava is a tropical fruit that many people like to eat. Its peel is greenand
its flesh is green or red.

Guava is a low-calorie,low-sugar fruit. Eating guava will not increase weight.

A medium-sized guava weighs about 50 grams, contains only about 35calories and
about 5 grams of sugar.

Guava is the best antioxidant fruit, its vitamin C content is much higherthan
citrus, banana, papaya, tomato, watermelon, pineapple and other fruits.

A guava contains 170 mg of vitamin C. In addition, guava is also rich invitamin
A, vitamin B, as well as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and othertrace
elements necessary for the human body.

Regular consumption of guavacan reduce the body's oxidative stress, remove
harmful free radicals, protectcells, and delay the aging process of cells.

In addition, Japanese experts confirmed that guava has a certain effectof
lowering blood sugar.

Experts suggest that patients with mild diabetes can eat guava to controlblood
sugar.

Q2            Whichtype of washing machine is the best, an agitator or an
impeller?

A2            Avyan Taneja , MBAfrom Kurukshetra UniversityAnswered Sep 3

Washing machines having impeller wash your clothes better than having
anagitator. A top load machine or front load machine willperform better and
help you to remove all the strains and dirt if that have animpeller not an
agitator. I hope that answer your question.

My note- explanation by google search about agitator and imprllors

Washing machines with agitators use a central post that twists back andforth,
rubbing against clothes to help break apart stains. In contrast,
washingmachines with impellers use a low-profile cone or disc that
spins/rotates torub clothes against each other to get them clean.

Q3            Whatare some natural remedies for diarrhea?

A3            Lucia Garcia Worked atHospitals4h

Diarrhea is usually a symptom of a gastrointestinal infection and can becaused
by a variety of bacteria, viruses, and parasites.

The main symptoms of diarrhea include urgency for bowel movements,
liquidstools, watery stools, bloating, cramps, vomiting, dehydration and so on.

Severe diarrhea may cause excessive fluid loss from the intestinal tractand
extracellular fluid compartment.

Diarrhea is closely related to diet.

As the saying goes: eating rawapples cures constipation, and eating cooked
apples cures diarrhea.

Apples are rich in pectin, which is a unique fiber found in fruits
andvegetables.

Clinical experience has provedthat unheated pectin can soften stools and
relieve constipation.

However, the heated pectin canshrink the intestines and reduce the moisture in
the stool, have astringent and antidiarrheal effects, and caneffectively
relieve the symptoms of diarrhea.

Cooked apples are only suitable for mild to moderate diarrhea. When thediarrhea
is severe, you still need to see a doctor right away.

Q4            Whenwas a laptop introduced in India?

A4            GopalkrishnaVishwanathTrue Indian, who feels at home anywhere in
India.Fri

I think it was sometime in thesecond half of the nineties.

Laptops were prohibitively expensive would costnearly a lakh of rupees those
days. Just adjust that for inflation and you can arrive at today’s cost.

Hardly anyone had them except some rich businessmen or Top executives orsome
companies.

I remember envying someforeigners who came to India lugging their laptops and
we had severalproject-related meetings. They had their bulky and primitive
laptops with them on the table while we hadour files and notes and scribbling
pads to jot down information. I envied theirability to retrieve information
from these laptops during the technicalmeetings and give decisions after some
quick checking up using theirspreadsheet software (Itused to be Lotus-123, the
predecessor to MS-Excel)

In our office, we used only desktops. No one had a laptop. Not even thetop man.
It was useless getting him one. He was computer illiterate!

I got my first laptop, an IBMThinkpad with 128K memory in 2001. I could not
afford to buy it. My son-in-law who came from the USA hadgot hold of a newer
and better laptop for his use and he gifted this old one tome. It had Windows
98 loaded on it and I used it for over 5 years before laptopprices crashed and
I got a better one for myself after inaugurating my startupin 2004.

Since then I have bought several laptops and changed them every 3 or 4years.

My note- I had my first laptopin 2006 gifted by my son inlaw. Used HP. It was
replaced with Toshiba in 2012 which I still continues touse as standby. Most of
the parts replaced including disc.  I purchased in 2020 end my new Laptop ASUS.

I had an internet problem with a bank account. The bank staff asked togive user
name and password in their computer. I found very difficult to use  their LAN
key board.

Q5            Whatis the most efficient and cost effective way to run a
standard split system airconditioner? Would running one 24 hours at 24 degrees
Celsius actually be ascost efficient as stopping and starting? (Heat sink
principle.)

A5            2 Answers Mike Russo, HVAC Technician / Stationary Engineer

The only true cost effective measure to increase system efficiency
solelythrough how you use your thermostat is to simply increase the set point
to awarmer temperature that's a little less comfortable than you would
ideallyprefer. You're not really going to trick the laws of physics otherwise.

There are other things, however, that are relatively simple to check andcan
play a major role in boosting system efficiency. The number 1 efficiencykiller
are all of the small air leaks that are often found in a duct systemlocated in
unconditioned spaces (such as the attic). That's cool air beingcompletely
wasted in which your system has to make up for.

Second in line are dirty air filters homeowners often neglect to
changeperiodically. Depending onthe filter type, they should be inspected
monthly and changed every 1–3 months.Dirt build up on these filter restricts
airflow and makes the system workharder and harder to provide the same amount
of cooling.

Third on the list is the lack of an annual maintenance program. Dirty condenser
and evaporatorcoils inhibit good heat exchange efficiency, which also forces
thesystem to work harder to provide cooling.

In short, the most powerfulresults to be had in maximizing system efficiency is
to keep the system workingas if it were new.

Assuming the A/C is capable of cooling your house to less than 24 deg C,it will
automatically start and stop. Please explain what you are proposing.

Q6            Howlong can a magnet suspend in the air using magnetic force
against gravity? Useof string to maintain position is permitted.

A6            Carl Smotricz topphysics student in High School Updated Dec 26

Many years, if you set it up right. Magnetic force doesn’t get used up. Magnets
do tend to very slowlylose their strength due to thermal and radioactive
effects, though.

If you get a choice, suspend itvia attraction rather than repulsion. If you do
repulsion your magnet will try to twist around so it’s facingthe other way.

Q7            Whydo Britons speak English instead of Scottish?

A7            Claire Jordan Degreein biology and folklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaper Dec 19

I’m guessing by “Scottish” youmean Gaelic rather than Scots. It’s not the
original language of Scotland but came there from Irelandabout 1500 years ago.

The original language of Britainwas related to Welsh, plus there was Pictish
for which we just don’t know what it was like. English is a fusion
ofAnglo-Saxon and Norman French, languages which came in with
settlers/invaderswho became the ruling class.

Scots (as opposed to Gaelic) is aclose cousin of English, relatedto the English
dialect spoken in Northumberland. Normans and Saxons settled inlowland
Scotland, too.

Q8            Whydon't we replace plastic with bamboo as much as possible?
Could the waste beused for other purposes afterwards?

A8            Conservation of NatureAnswered byD-A Dec 21

Replacing the world’s plasticis going to be mighty expensive andcomplicated
(Producing and crafting things arn’t expensive, but transportingthem globally
is). There are many species, and half of them are in danger ofextinction.

The main producers of banbooare China, India, and Japan. However, China has a
strict reserve of its banboofor their pandas. (which makes me happy to hear)

Completely replacing plastic with Banboo will be very difficult becauseplastic
is being constantly produced in factories, at a much higher rate thenbanboo.
There are alreadywater bottles, kitchen utensils, plates, and more made of
banboo, but nothingat a global scale.

This idea might actually work if people were interested in buying banboo. The
market will do anything to please people. However, if the change is too
drastic, then banbooforests will be all cut down to keep up with the demand.

I believe it could be done, but baby steps must be taken to avoideconomic and
environmental catastrophe. Just look at all the products that say “made
inchina”…this idea is not impossible.

Q9            Whatare the LED lighting benefits for your home?

A9            Sam Bridgeland,Handyman/Maintenance Engineer/Mechanic
(1976-present)Answered 1h ago

The most obvious benefit isenergy saving, with modern led lighting using about
1/10th the power of old incandescent bulbs (1/5th halogen, 1/2 CFL)to produce
the same amount of light.

In the early stages, this energy saving was balanced against much
harsherlighting colours (now measured in equivalent temperature in Kelvin) up
in the5–6000K range, but more recent developments have given us warmer whites
(2700to 3000K) similar to halogens, or daylight/natural whites in the
3500–4500Krange) with some units allowing switching between these, so your
kitchen/diningarea can have nice clear 4000K for preparation, then switch to a
cosy 2700K forthe meal.

Obviously LED lighting can alsohave actual colours, and due to it's lower
power, is a lot easier than older lighting to control digitally allowingfor
complex lighting effects.

I know you only asked for advantages, but I will also mention that the main
disadvantages aresensitivity to overheating, so led replacement bulbs may not
last longin some fitments that allow heat build up, and I'm not aware of an LED
ovenbulb as yet, and also they can often be quite bad on CRI (colour
renderingindex) or ability to show colours in the same way natural light does,
but this is improving, especiallyin the higher quality bulbs

Q10         Can we manually pourhot/warm water directly into the tub in a LG
top loading washing machine whichhas only cold water inlet?

A10          Kerry Walacavage,Researcher and data gatherer, for fun.Updated May
26, 2020

Yes, you can pour any temperature water you like into a top-loadingwashing
machine. I liketo boil water in my dutch oven and pour it into my washer, if
the water is toocool. Add really hot water to the washer after it has partially
filled withcold water (don’t pour it directly over or on any plastic parts, as
they mightmelt, just add it to the cooler water already in the washer).

Be prepared to lug a lot of water, if you want a fully hot wash, though. The
washer might hold up to 30 gallons of water. I use jugs from ammonia thatI’ve
rinsed out, and fill from the bath tub tap with hot water (I can carry 2at a
time), pour them in the washer, and repeat until the washer is as full asI’d
like.

Hot or warm water doesn’t really clean better, if you’re using
moderndetergents, though. They can cleanjust as well in cold water as warm or
hot. If you’re using home made‘detergent’ with bar soap as an ingredient (or
Zote or other powdered soap),then hotter water might work better for you.

My note- I have a front loadwashing machine. Once in three days I will dip 4-5
dhoties in hotwater from gaizer added with detergent. After 3-5 minutesI will
transfer to front load machine with 20% hotwater. And wash for 15minutes. The
clothes would appear perfectly washed and 75% dried
