BEING  A COMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1         If you are flying in aplane while an earthquake is happening below
you, can you visually see theearthquake happening below you?

A1          Andrew McGregor FormerCoastguard Air Patrol incident manager.15h

Yes:

That image was taken a few minutes after the Christchurch 2011earthquake. Not
from the air, but clearly you would have been able to see thatfrom an aircraft.

I know two pilots who were airborne in the area that day, and they didsee
things happening on the ground. Trees and vegetation moving,  disturbances in
bodies of water, things likethat.

I also know someone who was standing next to the threshold ofChristchurch
airport’s main runway working on the ILS antennas that day, whogot to see
ripples running the length of the runway. I’m sure, had there beenan airplane
on short final at that moment, they would have seen it too.(picture not added)

Q3         Being a North Indian, howdo you feel after getting posted in South
India through SSC CGL? No disrespectto our southern brothers, I just want to
douse my curiosity in case I getposting in South.

A3          Azhar Khan Lives inThrissur, Kerala, India (2018–present)Sun

<Being A Delhite ,Posted in Kerala>

I didn't get posting in Kerala through CGL. It's through CHSL (2016).Reason
behind getting posted here was that 0.5 Marks Margin Above PA Cutoff.

I joined here in October, 2018. It's been 3.5years+ since I am here(Thrissur,
Kerala){Central Kerala}

My probation got completed in 2021. But due to some reasons, my transfergot
rejected. Anyway, CGL19 result is awaited. I will move from here sooner.

Anyway, let's cut to the chase —

People/Colleagues -

They are educated and rich cultured. No eve-teasing, no Indecency. Safefor
girls.

Almost 90–95% are supportive towards us, help us get our problem carriedout,
are much more down to earth than the Opinionated ones found in some of
thenorthern states.

5–10% are the dogged ones who sneer by just seeing a North Indian( It'scommon
in South Kerala/Tamilnadu)

People here respect Central Government Employees. No one would botherabout
making you their Tenant.

Language -

Here people prefer their mother tongue over Hindi or any other language.Though,
they themselves are taught Hindi till matriculation. Yet, for them weare
expected to Learn their regional language to survive in South India.

In my case, I had arguments with many of them explaining them that Hindiis a
National Language (You must speak In Hindi). They changed my mentality
byreplying *Hindi is just an official language and nothing more than that*

Though, English is a universal language that is a savior in my case.

In the first two years, I hated learning Malayalam. Later, I learntMalyalam so
that I can atleast communicate with people. I now know basic wordsand sentences
which serves the purpose and also counting in Malyalam till1lakh.

In my opinion, we must adapt a bit. We Shouldn't be stubborn in Learninga new
language. They love it when we speak broken down words in Their
regionallanguage.

Climate/Weather-No pollution at all.Cleaner and Greener which canraise
anybody's Life expectancy. People have created Nursery in their home.Hardly
will you find any house without plant/tree/garden etc.

Some of the best places I couldget the chance to visit are

Ooty, Munnar, Mysore, Wayanad. .

Planning to visit Lakshadweep and Kanyakumari soon.

Politics-

In Kerala, it's COMMUNIST Party which have been ruling the state. Becauseof
that communist mentality, here nobody bothers about anybody'sreligion/caste.
They are respectful towards one anothers' priorities.

Food-

This is the major issue here. If you are a VEGETARIAN, it will beextremely
difficult for you to survive here as varieties and options are veryless
compared to North India. (NO DAAL MAKHNI, CHANA MASALA, CHOLE, RAJMAPOORI).
Their Veg Food variety is limited to a few stuffs which won't satiateyour soul.
If you know cooking, it's good. If not, learn it anyhow.

I being a Non-Veg, survived on hotel foods and later learnt cooking.Variety is
there but taste is different because of spices/oil they use whichmakes the food
inedible sometimes.

All in all, I have a decent experience here in Kerala(7/10).

This state and department proved to be lucky for me as I could crack bothCGL
2019 AND CGL 2020( Result is awaited but surety is there).

I Had decided to go from here since I joined here as homesickness is
nodifferent in my case. I could work harder looking at my surroundings
andthinking that I cant survive here lifetime.

In the scenario of Joblessness, dont bother much about getting postedanywhere
in India.

Just love your work and department , and simultaneously focus on gettingout of
here anyhow.

As Home is Home ❤

As I had already visited other South indians states, so chronology willbe like
this considering all aspects —

Kerala>Andhra/Telangana>Karnataka>Tamilnadu.

My note- There are lot of spellingand grammar mistakes in the answer.  I have
not corrected.

Q4         How can the kidney bedescribed and what are its functions?

A4          Apollo HospitalsEnterprise Limited Lived in Hyderabad, Telangana,
India Mar 12

Kidneys are bean-shaped organs that are located on either side of yourbody.
These are two in number and are present at the lowest level of your rib cage.

Each kidney consists of several functional units known as nephrons.

A nephron consists of a glomerulus that is attached to a tubule. Theseglomeruli
are filtering units of small blood vessels. When blood enters theglomerulus,
the filtration happens, and the filtered fluid is sent to thetubule.

Inside the tubule, water andchemicals are either added or removed from the
fluid. This function is performed based on your body’sneeds. Once this process
is complete, the rest of the waste fluid is passed outof your body in the form
of urine.

Every 24 hours, the kidneys perform the function of filtering toxins
andreturning the fluid to the bloodstream. On average, our kidneys filter
about200 quarts of liquid. Out of these, about 198 quarts of fluid are
recovered, whereas the remainingtwo quarts are released from the body.

Q6         What is the best lifeadvice you would give?

A6          Prabhat Mishra a learnerMon

Once there was a hardworking old farmer. One day, one of his horses ranaway.
His neighbours on hearing this news came to visit and sympatheticallysaid, “Oh,
it's such abad luck!”

“Maybe!”, the farmer replied.

Next morning, that horse returned with three other wild horses. This timehis
neighbours exclaimed, “Howwonderful!”

“Maybe!”, the farmer replied.

Next day, the farmer's son tried to ride one of the horses, fell down andbroke
his leg. The neighbours again paid a visit to offer their sympathy.

“Maybe!”, the farmer replied.

The next day, some military officials came to the village to recruit someyoung
men to go on war. Theypassed the farmer's son because of his broken leg. The
neighbours congratulatedthe farmer this time.“Maybe!”, the farmer replied.

Life is a constantly changing cycle of highs and lows. Neither the high, nor the
low will last forever.

So, it is better tojust go with the flow rather than becoming too invested in
one particularmoment.

Q7         Why is coffee popularworldwide despite its bitter taste?

A7          Joshua Gross I drinkblack drip coffee and espresso Feb 25

Coffee is a great source ofcaffeine, a mild stimulant. Oncaffeine, many people
experience increased energy, attention span, and mildeuphoria (until they take
too much).

Many bitter-tasting foods and especially beverages are popular. In recentyears,
craft beer IN THE US has moved strongly toward IPAs with higher andhigher
levels of hops.

Properly made coffee is nothorribly bitter. Drip brew or espresso drunk in a
timely manner has a nice bitterness that quickly dissipates. However, those who
want #1 and aren’t ok with #2 can put milk, sugar, or other flavoring(in
various guises).

I drink my coffee black. I prettymuch always have. I’ve hadcappuccinos, lattes,
etc., but I like black coffee. I also like dark chocolate.I don’t particularly
like the super-hoppy IPAs, but in grad school, my go-tobeer was Victory Hop
Devil.It’s personal taste.

Q8         Is it safe to end thespin cycle on a washing machine early?

A8          3 Answers Yat Sum Leung,I know a thing or two about planes Answered
May 27, 2019

Yes.

Front load: The door has built insafety mechanisms whichlocks it in place. Just
make sure you set your washer to drain the water(twice, if needed) first.
Frontloaders are notorious for refusing to open the door when you do an early
quit.

Top load: newer models (say, since 10 years ago) havesensors which halts the
spin the the lid is opened. Just don't put your handinside when it’s stopping.
Again, drain any remaining water for hygiene sake.

2nd answer- Steve JonesAnswered Jul 25, 2020

Safe as in causing damage to the machine? No. it won’t hurt the machine.

Safe as far as reaching in with it running? Probably not a good idea!

But, taking dripping wet clothes from the machine(for whatever reason) will
likely get water on the floor, so a slip hazard, andpossibly damage the floor
covering.

And placing overly wet clothes in the dryer can damage the dryer, andcause
excessive energy consumption and long run cycles trying to remove thewater.

3rd answer- Rod Gorry , restricted electrical,Answered Jan 7

All front loaders have a drypoint. This means the amount of rotations per
minute, it can achieve removingliquid, the dry point is measured.

>From memory the maximum dry point is about 8600 rpm, after that, its awaste of
>time, no more liquid can be extracted.

Lots of fancy machine boast higher speeds to get you to buy them. Whenbuying a
front loader, look for 8600rpm.

Ending any cycle before its timeis totally safe. Thesemachines have built in
safety devices to prevent you from say flooding yourlaundry. But like most, I
guess you ask because once you close that door. itslocked and you cant add to?
I hate f/loaders.

Q9         Do crocodiles eateverything?

A9          Peter Kaye Former ExCrocodile Hunter, Deep Sea Diver, Oilfield Work
at Ocean Systems (1966–1996)Mar9

No, only animals or meat, theydo eat vegetable, but only from the stomachs
ofthe animals they swallow. Their stomach acid is extremely strong andwill
dissolve everything down to the skin and bones, the skin and bones beingthe
last to devolve, or digest. I once opened up a 14 feet croc and it had afull
bovine skin in it , no head but all 4 hooves were still attached to theskin,
and judging by the size of the hooves I would say the cow/ steer wouldhave been
3/4 grown. All meat had already been digested and only skin and boneswere left,
and all bones were completely crushed, and none bigger than my hand.Actually
the four hooves were the largest bones left.

Q10              What's thedifference between a father and mother?

A10        Sahil Phatangare Princeof Quora Mar 3

Recently I was going home from college by local train.

The train was full of crowd plus it was afternoon so atmosphere was hotand
humid.

Due to the lack of seats, I was standing at the open door with my handlocked in
the bars and head picking out.A young married couple came near thedoor, their
baby was crying.3-4 stations passed still the baby didn't stopcrying.

After a point, the father got irritated and he went back to his seat. But the
mother kept pamperingher child, making weird faces, speaking in a cute tone.

It carried for an hour, but the baby didn't stop crying. The wholecompartment
was irritated they were looking at that mother only.

Mother ignored all the stares, she didn't even got angry on her child even for a
little bit.

A few more minutes passed, child's father came and stood in front of her.

Like acting as a shield, maybe the crowd stares were making her feelawkward.

An old aunty from the crowdpassed a packet of peanuts to the baby. Luckily baby
got distracted and startedplaying with it.

During that train journey, the mother didn't give up on her child.

In real life too no matter how much mischievous children might be, for amother
her child is innocent.Whereas the father, he wasn't playing with thechild but
he was looking back and later carrying their laguage.

In real too, a father doesn'twipe the tears of a child when he comes from
school after a bad incident.Wethink of him as stone heart human but he pays the
fees, takes care of needs.

Role's might interchange according to circumstances.But in a family,there's a
soft heart parent who nurtures the child and a hardliner parent whogives
protection from the cruelty of the world.
