SRIPERAMBATHUR MALAYALI WELFARE ASSOCIATION. Respected friends,
I had been to the SriPerambathur Malayali welfare associationinaugural meet at Sathyam Grand resort, Sriperambadur on 23-4-2022. The initiativefor an association was started in 2019, and registered in 2021. At present theassociation has 65 members. During the inaugural meet the large hall was full with many standing onsides. Members attended with families. The cultural programmes were inauguratedby Smt. Premachandran wife of NK Premachandran MP from Quilon. The associationwas inaugurated by Sri NK Premachandran MP from Quilon who was the chief guestof the programme. For those who are not so familiar with Sri Perambadur, it is 35 KMs from Tambaram towardsVellore and falls in the NH. Most probably the most crowded area ofthe NH can be this area. SriPerambadur is the birth place of Sri Ramanujacharya. Ramanujac. 1017–1137 CE; also known as Ramanujacharya, was an Indian Hindu philosopher,theologian and a social reformer. He is noted to be one of the most importantexponents of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism. The unfortunate assassination of LateRajiv Gandhi, former Prime minister of India occurred at Sriperambadur on 21-5- 1991 as a result ofsuicide bombing in a public meet there.There is a memorial in that place. One of the best industrial estates of the Government ofTamilnadu is at SriPermabadur. Sriperambadur is called Detroit of India. Large numberof industries is there in the SriPerambadur- Sungavar chathram area, producing parts of transport vehicles,Nippon paints, Saint- Gobain glass industry, polymer industries, Nokia mobilesand many other industries. Chief invitee, the MLAof Sri Perambadur Mr Selvaperun thagai recalled the relation between Kerala andTamil people quoting from Sangham literature and Kannaki story and cherakings ruling Kerala. He said he can take initiative to get land from Governmentfor constructing an association building. >From the beginning he was helpful inthe Malayali association formation, he knew many Malayalees whom he was associated. An excellent informative talk inTamil. He has studied literature, he mentioned during the talk. The Chief Guest Sri NK Premachandran first mentioned about Detroitof India, the importance of the day Patthamudayam, need of associationrecalling the works done by Malayali association during Covid periodincluding at Sri Perambadur. He wished looking at the large audience more members joining the association. Heformally inaugurated the association. Anu chako, Norka roots Kerala also talked on the occasionmentioning many things to be accomplished by the association in the forthcomingyears. My son and daughter inlaw reside at Goodwill apartments at Sri Perambadur.
