Pranam
Q2 Mangalya dharanam is a old concept which changed intro different
kinds of rituals and different brands of seals of mangalyam. Ofcourse Sita
mangalya dhaaranam is not on dot narrated in Valmiki Ramayanam; but ayodhya
kandam chap 13 verse 11 of the Gita press says
अष्टौ कन्याश्च मङ्गल्याः सर्वाभरणभूषिताः ।

वादित्राणि च सर्वाणि बन्दिनश्च तथापरे ॥ ११ ॥

*aṣṭau kanyāśca maṅgalyāḥ sarvābharaṇabhūṣitāḥ |*
*vāditrāṇi ca sarvāṇi bandinaśca tathāpare* || 11 || Heer Msangalyam is a
vastrabarana bhushitaam. Like a jewellery.

COVER: HARDCOVER Also In Nala damayanthi story Damayanthi Mangala sutra is
hidden and only visible to Nala; same one seen in Harichandra also where
Chandramathi thali can be seen only by the husband. Oorvasi was caught by
indra after the marriage in spite of the hidden mangalya. So Mangalya
concept is true. What type of them were in vogue and how many models are
unknown. Also to day we have brands of different mangalyam to different
sect identifiable as this and that. Ofcourse Sreenivasa Rao is well
learned and had written a lot yet he missed a few things too and this is
one of them KR IRS 2522
