BEING  A COMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            Howcan I normalize my blood sugar quickly? What is the miracle
fruit that curesdiabetes?

A1            Mohan Prakash Having helped self first and large set ofpeople May

Normalize sugar like next 20 or 30 minutes ?

Go for a slow jog, do 10surya namaskars and you will see a drop of 40 to 80
points in your reading.

Normalize sugar like thismonth? Go for a lifestyle change - start with what you
eat, how much you eat,how many times you eat, how much you move around in a
day, how much you rest……get these modified slowly with help of a wellness coach
and you will startseeing a healthy drop of sugars on average.

My note- For an aged man above 75, these practicescan be difficult.

Q2            Whydoes the first bag to arrive at the airport baggage carousel
never belong toanyone? Is it some sort of test bag?

A2            Arun Visvanathan Lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India May1

There must be some law tothis. On the odd occasions that I have been one of the
first at the belt my bagarrives last. If I arrive late, I wait and wait. With
no sign of my bag, I takea walk around the conveyor and find that right at the
end where it goes out ofthe building, luggage handlers are removing bags and
stacking them Presumablythis is to avoid congestion but what it does is to
leave someone waiting forhis bag when it has already made a couple of rounds
and has been removed.

My weirdest experience incollecting baggage was nearly fifty years ago when
Mumbai was still Bombay andKolkata was Calcutta. No electronic display boards
in those days. Just a standwith a card having your flight no and origin. I had
flown to Delhi on IndianAirlines. I reached the baggage hall and waited by the
belt with the sign IAxxx Bombay. The adjacent belt had a sign reading IA yyy
Calcutta. Thepassengers arrived and waited patiently near their belt. Before
the baggagearrived an airline employee switched the two signs. So the crowd
surroundingBelt A rushed to Belt B and vice versa. A little later another bloke
came alongand switched the signs back. The mad rush from A to B and B to A
recommenced.Justas the first bags appeared on the two belts, a third employee
came and tookboth signs away. You can imagine what happened next.

Q3            Doyou agree with the biblical teaching that women shouldn't be
pastors?

A3            Claire Jordan Degree in biology and folklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaper Apr 26

Not since the advent of microphones.Women rarely have a strong enough voice to
preach well without assistance andwithout becoming shrill and squeaky in an
effort to project - but now that wehave sound amplification that no longer
matters.

Q4            Whatare the benefits of kitchen cabinets?

A4            Gopala Krishnan, former Assistant General Manager1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966-2004)Answered just now

Kitchen cabinets saves a lot of space used to keep tins/bottles/containers like
jars keeping daily required kitchen items. Incabinets these can be neatly kept,
without affecting by dust to 50%. It gives aneat arrangement and look to
kitchen. If the contents are written and pasted onthem, very easy to take and
use the tins and bottles. Periodic cleaning of cabinetwould make kitchen items
at least 90% dust free

Q5            How do you keep life fun as you getolder?

A5            Ratnamala Kamath M'comfrom Karnatak University, Dharwad
(Graduated 1988)May 1

Travel to New places.   Meet up and talk with friends.   Try to keep up with
technology by learning new things.    Develop and nurture a hobby.    Try out
new recipes.

Get up, dress up and go out even if it only to buy groceries orvegetables.

You can do crossword puzzles, sudoku and now we have puzzles like wordl, quordle
etc on the internet everyday which are fun to solve and which I trynever to
miss solving.

I and my husband also watch some light hearted serials on mobile and TV.

Of course the body has certainlimitations as we age, but we can try to keep the
mind active and happy.

My husband has discovered his interest and talent for singing, thanks toour son
and whenever he gets the time he puts on the karaoke background andsings and
records his songs. He shares it with relatives and siblings who neverfail to
appreciate his singing. He is good but not perfect but that doesn'tmatter
because he sings to de-stress and for his own happiness.

I read and write on quora tode-stress and for my happiness. I too am not
perfect. But again that does not matter because I do it for my happiness
andalso I have connected with so many nice people on quora.

I sometimes do fabric painting, but my hands and fingersare not steady and many
a time I discard what I have done. But when I'm doingit I feel happy and that
is all that matters ultimately as you age.

So do what makes you happy. Youdon't have to be perfect or very good at it. As
we age, we don't or can't have perfect control over our limbs, voiceetc, so do
things that will lighten and lift up your spirit and not forperfection.I being
an introvert, could only think of the above fun things to doas we grow older.

Q6            Can LG Air conditioner doair-purification too?

A6            LG India Lives inIndia Updated Apr 11

Anti-Allergy Filter in LG Air Conditioner is designed to capture dustparticles
over 10μm in size while removing allergens in the air, such as dustmites to
provide a cleaner, fresher and healthier environment. Create a safetyshield
around with LG Smart AC.

My note- Recently I felt nocooling in my AC and doubtedthere may be a reduction
of gas in the compressor. A private technicianinspected, he said it is due to
dust on indoor unit, did water service in frontof me. I could see himremoving
dust from carborator type front area by water spraying with force. Now even at
28 degree C setting, it gives goodcooling.

Q7            Is it better to use your car’s ACwhile driving?

A7            Chris Ebbert I haveowned and driven over a hundred cars. Apr 27

Modern car ACs are surprisinglyeasy on the fuel consumption, so it can be done
without being penalizedheavily.

As to why one would do so, my reasons are these:The air is cleaner tobreathe;
what passes through an AC tends to undergo quite a bit of filtration, and as
long as there are still diesels out there, and gravel, and dust, AC airis a
much cleaner thing for your body.

The humidity in the car goesway down, which suppresses smells and mold, makes
you physically morecomfortable, and keeps your windows clear on the inside.

Running the system every once in a while is actually good practice, because it
might begin to fail otherwise. Belts, etc. want to be used.

Maintaining a civilizedtemperature inside the car is actually a safety factor,
as oppressive heat can reduce your reaction time as much as being drunkmight do.

Q8            Will the proposed new one hourflight from Bengaluru to Mysore at
Rs 1589/- be successful?

A8            Rukmini Hindupur Livesin Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
(1986–present)Apr 29

It won’t. At least for peoplelike us who live in South Bangalore. For us,
Mysore is around 150km. The airport is 50km away in theopposite direction. That
explains everything.

>From door to door, we can reach Mysore in a matter of two and a halfhours by
>car travel.

Whereas for us to reach the airport, it never takes less than one and ahalf
hour. Plus the time taken for all the security protocols before theflight.

Whenever we travel to Mysore, we always stop at our favourite restaurantsthat
are spotted every half a kilometre throughout. Road conditions areexcellent.
Once we cross the city, it is a joy ride.

I will not trade that joy fora flight anyway. Cost looks ok.Not much higher
than a car travel. Not including the 4 cab rides!! That itselfwould be on the
upper side of 3thousand rupees!

But finally what I am not able to figure out is, why should it take one hour
tofly from Bangalore to Mysore?

Q9            What's something that sucks aboutbeing a woman?

A9            Kook Kannan / கூக் கண்ணன் M.B.B.S from Stanley Medical College
(Expected 2025)May 3

A classmate of mine is having surgery postings. She got to see aninteresting
case a few days back which she shared with us.

A seventy year old woman camewith complaints of pain in her abdomen and was
admitted. My friend had already read her case history and itsaid she had been
diagnosed with splenomegaly. My friend examined her and waschecking for
tenderness. Thewoman was complaining of pain on the right side.

But spleen is on the left side. They couldn't understand why she was
havingtenderness on the opposite side. But they noticed some more bruises on
her bodyand soon figured out someonehad physically assaulted her. That was
probably why she came to hospital in thefirst place and they had discovered
splenomagaly only by chance. And thefact she was unwilling to disclose the very
assault means the perpetrator isprobably her own husband or son.

And this wasn't the first case of abuse my classmate had witnessed. Within two
days, she haswitnessed three such cases. One even came with a cut on her nose.
But none ofthem opened their mouth. They didn't complain about the men in
theirhouse and no men accompanied them to the hospital either. It was just
anotherTuesday for them.

What's something that sucksabout being a woman? Having to take beatings from
the men in your family and then shut up because you don't earnenough to run
your family on your own.

P.S: Instead of commenting ‘Men too face abuse’ under this answer, betterwrite
your own answer on men's abuse. It would be more useful.

Q10         What can be done if a human was exposedto rabies a year ago and had
symptoms with no vaccines?

A10          Donna Fernstrom Livesin Virginia Updated Apr 27

Once the person has symptoms, they’re dead within a week or so. The exceptions
can be counted on one hand, and involve a medicallyinduced coma with rigorous
treatment with anticonvulsants and other drugs, anda whole lot of luck.
Survivorshave brain damage to overcome.

No matter how long ago you may have been exposed, get the
post-exposuretreatment. While rabies usually manifests within months of
exposure, it cansometimes take years. Treating it before symptoms emerge will
save your life.Once symptoms begin, it’s too late.
