Q1           How can a human being recover hislost memories?

A1           Andi Surch, Experience overlivesAnswered 58m ago

Memories of pastlives are stored in:

Akashic records

Desires, likes anddislikes of a person

Patterns that aperson can recognize

If we carefullystudy our likes and dislikes (I mean very carefully, like say
noting down thesmallest things like how we shake our hands while walking, or
when we wake upin the morning), learn to access akashic records, and learn to
recognisepatterns in our lives, we can “retain" or “remember" our memories. This
can be done by training our subconscious minds

For example, if you are good at understanding softwarecode naturally without
any help, then you have already passed through thatpattern of software coding
in some life. There is adifference between learning from scratch and having a
feeling of deja vu

Some mental health professionals believe the brain canrepress memories and
offer therapy to help people recover hidden memories.Others agree repression
could theoretically be possible, even though there's noconcrete proof.

Read an old letter, personal journal, or newspaper article. Listen to an old
song that you orsomeone in your family loved. Cook a meal your mom or dad used
to make for you.Smell something that may jog your memory, like a book, pillow,
perfume, orfood……

3RD ANSWER- Mohit, MScAnswered 13m ago

New UCLA research indicates that lost memories can berestored. The findings
offer some hope for patients in the early stages ofAlzheimer’s disease.

Fordecades, most neuroscientists have believed that memories are stored at
thesynapses — the connections between brain cells, or neurons — which
aredestroyed by Alzheimer’s disease. The new study provides evidence
contradicting the idea that long-termmemory is stored at synapses.

“Long-term memory is not stored at thesynapse,” said David Glanzman, a senior
author of the study, and a UCLAprofessor of integrative biology and physiology
and of neurobiology. “That’s aradical idea, but that’s where the evidence
leads. The nervous system appearsto be able to regenerate lost synaptic
connections. If you can restore thesynaptic connections, the memory will come
back. It won’t be easy, but Ibelieve it’s possible.”

The findings werepublished recently in eLife, a highly regarded open-access
online sciencejournal.

Glanzman’s research team studies a type of marine snailcalled Aplysia to
understand the animal’s learning and memory. The Aplysia displays a defensive
response to protect its gill from potentialharm, and the researchers are
especially interested in its withdrawal reflexand the sensory and motor neurons
that produce it.

They enhanced thesnail’s withdrawal reflex by giving it several mild electrical
shocks on itstail. The enhancement lasts for days after a series of electrical
shocks, whichindicates the snail’s long-term memory. Glanzman explained that
the shockcauses the hormone serotonin to be released in the snail’s central
nervoussystem.

Long-term memory is a function of the growth of newsynaptic connections caused
by the serotonin, saidGlanzman, a member of UCLA’s Brain Research Institute. As
long-term memories are formed, the brain creates newproteins that are involved
in making new synapses. If that process is disrupted— for example by a
concussion or other injury — the proteins may not besynthesized and long-term
memories cannot form. (This is why peoplecannot remember what happened moments
before a concussion.)

Q2           How can I recover memories lost dueto anesthesia?

A2           Alan Sexton , former Senior StaffSpecialist at Westmead Hospital
(1989-2015)Answered Oct 5, 2018

Postoperative amnesia is a reality.Events occurring DURING anaesthesis are
beneficially forgotten. This applies tosedation during uncomfortable
procedures. Postoperatively, amnesia may occurdue to drugs like pregabalin
(1–10%) or postoperative cognitive dysfunction.POCD is forgetfulness due to the
Acute Phase Reaction of inflammation, unrelated to operation type or anaesthetic
choice. Inflammatory cells pass theblood brain barrier at the hippocampus,
affecting memory. The recall may be impinged, so if triggered, you may
recallspecific details.

POCD may be associated with poor nutrition, refeeding& high ammonia levels.
Regabalin is a chronic paindrug with an association with amnesia. It’s
incidence is much higher thanreported because people don’t realize they have
forgotten information.

Q3           Does turmeric help fight cancer? Ifso, how?

A3           Lucia Garcia Worked at HospitalsSun

Turmeric iscurrently the most popular "health food". In India and
China, turmeric has been used in traditional medicine for at least 6,000 years.

Turmeric is a foodwith both medicinal and edible purposes, which can be used as
both a deliciousfood and a medicinal herb to solve various health problems.

Indians love to eatturmeric, so it is widely used in Indian cuisine, and many
experts believe it is oneof the reasons why the incidence of cancer in India is
ten times lower than inthe United States.Turmeric contains about 3% curcumin,
and laboratoryand animal studies have shown that curcumin has the function of
preventingcancer and inhibiting the metastasis of cancer cells.

However, thecurrent research on curcumin is only in its infancy, and no one can
guarantee whether curcumin can become a realanti-cancer drug.

Curcumin is astrong pharmacologically active compound with anti-inflammatory,
anti-tumor,anti-mutation, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and other
effects.

Turmeric is a verysafe food with no side effects and can be purchased online at
a very cheapprice.

The way to consume turmeric is very simple. Pour atablespoon of turmeric (about
2 to 3 grams) into your mouth, then take a sip ofhot water.

Q4           What is the reason for the incisionin all three pins of the
electric plug?

A4           Gopala Krishnan , former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966-2004) Answered justnow

I am from Chennai,India. Earlier 3 pinplugs had their pins with a split in the
middle. By just wideningthe split, if there was loose in connecting point, it
could be made tight. Butnow technology has improved very much, the pins and
socket connectors are made with precision, andabove all power sockets are
controlled by switches, the instances ofremoving pins from sockets very much
reduced.

Unless I change mylaptop, I do not disconnect the connecting 3 pin plug from
socket. It iscontrolled by switch to switch ON and OFF power. Most wall socket
points arecontrolled by switch. Inmany homes mobile chargers, ROS sockets etc
are permanently connected to socketand controlled by switches.

There wasa problem with split in pin. If one widened it frequently, there was
chance ofbreaking that area.

I read in Quoraitself one member writing- Frequent removal of pins, widening
socket connectorsand replacing charges are much more. Better have switch
control.

Q5           There are some who believe thathumans have had access to better
technology in our past than we do currently, but at some point we experienced a
reset of sorts. Why is there zero evidenceof this archaeologically?

A5           Claire Jordan Degree in biology andfolklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaper16h

Becauseit isn’t true. There have been some resets ofthat sort in the past, for
example after the fall of Rome, and in some ways atthe end of the Mediaeval
period when a lot of medical knowledge was lost, but the societies that were
reset weren’t at anything likeour technolgical level.

Q6           Why does AC release water?

A6           Sangram Sagar Blogger, Content Writer| Ecommerce Business Advisor
May 24

The water does not come out of the compressor of the ACbut through its cooling
section or cooling unit. The tubes of the cooling unit are so cold that when the
air in the room ispassed over these tubes by the blower, the steam or moisture
present in the air cools down andturns back into water and forms water droplets
on the cooling tubes.and as the amount of these water droplets on the cooling
tubes increases, theycollect and flow out as water and exit the AC through the
exhaust or outlettube.

(Cooling tubes in the indoor or cooling unitof AC)

That isto say, the water that comes out of the AC is not present in the
compressor butin the air of the room itself in the form of moisture or water
vapor and the same steam or moisturecools in the AC and condenses. Due to this
water is generated. The moremoisture in the surrounding environment or room
air, the more water will comeout of the AC by filling it and this water is
almost as pure as distilledwater.

Q7           Why is India among the poorestcountry that have been once ruled by
the British compared to their othercolonies that are now currently independent?

A7           Balaji Viswanathan History buff Apr15

There are 2 typesof British colonies.

Group A: Where the Europeans used the land forsettlement, pushing
out/exterminating the natives. Here they got large tractsof land from them,
applied European technology and shared the spoils with asmall group of people —
resultingin wealth.

    USA   Canada    Australia    New Zealand

Group B: Where the Europeans didn’t settle, butused up the resources — such as
land, markets, people. These coloniesbenefitted little from the industrial
revolution and other key technologyprogress of the 19th and early 20th
centuries.

    India   Pakistan    Bangladesh    Malaysia

    Sudan   Kenya    Egypt    Sierra Leone

    Uganda   Zimbabwe    Namibia    Nigeria

In the Group B, India is one of the most stable societyand economies.

Q8           What does BHK mean for buying flats?

A8           Naveen Subramanian Lived in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, India Mar 11

The “K” in the BHKmakes hell a lot of difference. As per Indian building
approval norms, a home is complete only when ithas a kitchen. A home without a
kitchen is not qualified as aflat/house - instead, it’s classified as a studio
apartment/ living guesthouse, etc. So insimple words - a kitchen is what makes
a flat eligible to live as a family.

The BHK as in“bedroom hall kitchen”alsogives you an entitlement of a property
owner which can be rented to families(and bachelors). The EBdept will give a
separate EB meter box only if your flat has a kitchen. So if you want to rent a
flat that doesn’t have an attached individual kitchen- then you don’t get a
separate EB meter. This is what we call “ studio apartments or pay andstay
rooms”.

Designing thekitchen is the most complicated part of a building plan as it’s
where the womenprefer to spend most of their time. A hall is just one big
vacant space, abedroom is something similar with attached bathroom but kitchen
plan isentirely different.    It has to be simple and compact, should not
utilize more space from the entire building plan

It should not be congested but convenient, shouldhave racks and shelves without
occupying floor space

Most of the time, it’s the kitchen plan that goes throughvarious alterations,
and this alternation extends evenfor a few years after the building is
completed and occupied. That’s howcomplicated the ‘ K’ in BHK is

Q9           Do you really feel good retiring atthe age of 65?

A9           Naveen Subramanian Lived in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, IndiaSun

I wanted to retiresince my schooldays, and kept shifting goal posts - not just
because for theneed for livelihood but becauseas i age, i find easier ways to
do the job, i find more wisdom to educate ortranslate gained expoerience.
Finally, i gave up on my childhooddream of “getting retired”. The reason i
mentioned schooldays is because, istarted earning since schooldays (though it
was informal)

This may sound overexaggeration, but it’s not. Me and my friends ran a part
time business for a small profit. Our clients were nearby shops. The reason for
“nearby” shops is because we werejuveniles and isn’t eligible for DL :). This
is to fund our ‘non essential”expenses - like music CDs and books.

He’s Walter Orthmann - hold’s Guiness record for workinglongest tenure at the
same company for 84 years. He has just turned 100 now :).

Born in the smallBrazilian town of Brusque in 1922, Orthmann wanted to get a
job as a15-year-old to support his family financially. Due to his strong
proficiency inGerman, got hired as a shipping assistant for the textile company
IndustriasRenaux S.A., now known as ReneauxView, in 1938. Soon after, he was
promoted toa position in sales, and later became a sales manager, a position he
has heldever since. Now, he'sbeen with the company for over 84 years, giving
him the Guinness World Recordfor the longest career in the same company.

Ask him why hehasn’t considered retirement, and he says - I like working :) No
worries for future, or no regretabout the past - just wake up everyday,
exercise and go to work.

Orthmann begantraveling across Brazil for his job in the 1950s and says he fell
in love withbeing on the move and establishing good relationships with clients.
He’s ingood health "with excellent mental clarity and memory."

Answering the original question - Do you really feel goodretiring at the age of
65?I don’t know, I may retire earlier or later or never…………..

Q10         If I'm diabetic, should I eat purehoney?

A10         Lucia Garcia Worked at Hospitals Mon

"The sweetest thing in the world, apart from amother's love and a girlfriend's
kiss, the third is honey!"

Honey is verysweet, containing about 35% glucose, 5% sucrose, and 40% fructose.
Glucose hasa glycemic index of 100 and sucrose has a glycemic index of 85.
These twosugars are high glycemic index sugars.

Glucose can directly enter the blood without beingdigested, while sucrose is
easily digested andabsorbed, and the two sugars have a great impact on blood
sugar.

Fructose has a lowglycemic index of only 23, fructosewas once recommended as a
"healthy sugar" for diabetics.

However, newresearch has found that after fructose enters the bloodstream, it
is rapidlytransported to the liver, where it is synthesized into fat.

This effect on the rapid absorption of fructose and theproduction of fat is
very detrimental to the health of diabetic patients.
