Q1            What happens if I don't consume saltfor 10 days?

A1            Lucia Garcia Worked at Hospitals Fri

Sodium in salt is an essential nutrient for body's nutrientabsorption, muscle
movement, nerve transmission, cardiopulmonary function andmetabolism.

The main componentof salt is sodium chloride, of which 39% is sodium and 61% is
chlorine. Saltmakes up about 0.5% of your body weight.

Salt is broken downin the body into sodium and chloride ions. Sodium maintains
intracellular andextracellular fluid balance and helps regulate nerve and
muscle function.

If You Do Not Eat Salt for 10 Days, the osmotic pressureinside and outside the
cells will be out of balance, water will enter the cellscausing the cells to
swell and possible burst.

At this time, it ismost likely to experience symptoms such as cerebral edema.
In mild cases, therewill be disturbances of consciousness, including fatigue,
dizziness, lethargy, and trance. In severe cases, shock, coma and even death may
occur.

The WHO recommended sodium intake for adults is 2 grams per day, which is
equivalent to 5 grams of salt, about 1 teaspoon.

Q2            What are some of the life lessons weshould learn from a bamboo
tree as humans?

A2            Bhuvana Rameshwar married for threedecades Thu

Lessons from the bamboo plant, from a science teacher'sview.

It is flexible whenmade to bend by others but doesn't break easily. Doesn't
break under externalpressure,

It retains itsoriginal form once let go. Shows integrity of coming out of tough
times.

It lives only for15 years compared to other trees which live 50 to 200 years ,
this is a veryshort life time. It thus grows very fast, around 1 metre in
height everyday. Itknows life is short so makes full use of time.

A parent bamboosoon gives way to baby shoots which grow around its base. The
forest, sunshine, air and water belong to next generation too. So give way.

Even if there areholes in its body it keeps producing beautiful sounds. Instead
of gettingdepressed about the holes.

anotherGopalakrishnan, a college professor,  andhis wife was talking to my
wife. She obeyed dieticians directions and preparedfood for him and on 4th day
he pushed the plate to her and shouted- You eat your preparation. She couldnot

type. Presentdays only LED bulbs in India. If you connect a low wattage bulb,
light will notbe bright. That is all.

Q6            Are bare copper wires and dead softcopper wires the same?

A6            Shib Maitra Chief Executive at Power& Allied Engineers.
(2006–present) 2h

Barecopper wire is without any insulation. Dead soft copper wire is a term not
usedin electrical engineering. But metallurgically, might mean pure copper as
pure copper is very malleable i.e. soft.Impurities like, zinc, tin, silver etc
are mixed with copper to increase itshardness without sacrificing conductivity.

My note- This is a new information to me.

still see one of these at the old train station.

Q10         Which is the oldest Indian kingdom?

A10          Balaji Viswanathan History buff Thu

Kuru kingdom.

My  note- Lengthyinformative answer. Kindly read at leisure time or skip
withthe above  brief answer

The oldestcivilization known in India so far is the Indus valley civilization
thatextended all across India 5300 years ago.

Indus Valley Civilisation - Wikipedia

Bronze Agecivilisation in South Asia Miniature votive images or toy models from
Harappa ,c. 2500 BCE. Terracotta figurines indicate the yoking of zebu oxen for
pullinga cart and the presence of the chicken , a domesticated jungle fowl. The
IndusValley Civilisation ( IVC ), also known as the Harappan civilisation or
Induscivilisation , [1] was a Bronze Age civilisation in the northwestern
regions ofSouth Asia , lasting from 3300 BCE to 1300 BCE, and in its mature
form from2600 BCE to 1900 BCE. [a] Togetherwith ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia ,
it was one of three early civilisations ofthe Near East and South Asia , and of
the three, the mostwidespread, its sites spanning an area stretching from
today's northeastAfghanistan , through much of Pakistan , and into western and
northwesternIndia . [3] [b] Itflourished in the basins of the Indus River ,
which flows through the length ofPakistan, and along a system of perennial,
mostly monsoon -fed, rivers thatonce coursed in the vicinity of the seasonal
Ghaggar-Hakra river in northwestIndia and eastern Pakistan. [2] [4] The
civilisation's cities werenoted for their urban planning , baked brick houses,
elaborate drainagesystems, water supply systems, clusters of large
non-residential buildings, andnew techniques in handicraft ( carnelian
products, seal carving) and metallurgy( copper , bronze , lead, and tin). [5]
The large cities of Mohenjo-daro andHarappa very likely grew to contain between
30,000 and 60,000 individuals, [6]and the civilisation itself during its
florescence may have contained betweenone and five million individuals. [7]
Gradual drying of the region's soil during the 3rdmillennium BCE may have been
the initial spur for the urbanisation associatedwith the civilisation, but
eventually weaker monsoons and reduced water supplycaused the civilisation's
demise, and caused its population to scatter eastwardand southward. [c]
TheIndus civilisation is also known as the Harappan Civilisation , after its
typesite , Harappa, the first of its sites to be excavated early in the
20thcentury in what was then the Punjab province of British India and is now
inPakistan. [8] [d] Thediscovery of Harappa and soon afterwards Mohenjo-daro
was the culmination ofwork beginning in 1861 with the founding of the
Archaeological Survey of Indiaduring the British Raj . [9] There were however
earlier and latercultures often called Early Harappan and Late Harappan in the
same area; forthis reason, the Harappan civilisation is sometimes called the
Mature Harappanto distinguish it from these other cultures. By 2002, over 1,000
Mature Harappan cities and settlementshad been reported, of which just under a
hundred had been excavated.[10] [e] [12] [13] However, there are only five
major urban sites: [14] [f]Harappa, Mohenjo-daro (declared a UNESCO World
Heritage Site in 1980 as"Archaeological Ruins at Moenjodaro"), Dholavira
(declared a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site in 2021 as "Dholavira: A

It is unlikely thatsuch a massive civilization extending over 3 million square
kilometers withcentralized system & standards would have come together without
a strongempire or kingdom. However, we don’t yet know the specifics of their
governancestructure.

The oldest kingdom for which we evidence is the Kurukingdom, ruling from
Hastinapur 1200 BCE ca. We have got bothliterary evidence for this kingdom and
archeological evidence in the form ofPainted Greyware (PGW).

Kuru Kingdom - Wikipedia

Ancient Indian Kingdom Kuru ( Sanskrit : कुरु ) was a Vedic Indo-Aryan tribal
union innorthern Iron Age India , encompassing the modern-daystates of Delhi ,
Haryana , Punjab and some parts of western Uttar Pradesh ,which appeared in the
Middle Vedic period [2] (c. 1200 – c. 900 BCE) anddeveloped into the first
recorded state-level society in the Indian subcontinent. [3] [4] [5] The
Kurukingdom decisively changed the religious heritage of the early Vedic
period, arranging their ritual hymns into collections called the Vedas , and
developingnew rituals which gained their position in Indian civilization as the
Srautarituals, [3] which contributed to the so-called "classicalsynthesis" [5]
or "Hindu synthesis" . [6] It became the dominantpolitical and cultural center
of the middle Vedic Period during the reigns of Parikshit andJanamejaya , [3]
but declined in importance during the late Vedicperiod (c. 900 – c. 500 BCE)
and had become "something of abackwater" [5] by the Mahajanapada period in the
5th century BCE. However, traditions and legendsabout the Kurus continued into
the post-Vedic period, providing thebasis for the Mahabharata epic. [3] The
main contemporary sources forunderstanding the Kuru kingdom are the Vedas ,
containing details of lifeduring this period and allusions to historical
persons and events. [3] Thetime-frame and geographical extent of the Kuru
kingdom (as determined byphilological study of the Vedic literature) suggest
its correspondence with thearchaeological Painted Grey Ware culture . [5]
History [ edit ] The Kuru clan was formed inthe Middle Vedic period [1] [2] (c.
1200 – c. 900 BCE) as a result ofthe alliance and merger between the Bharata
and other Puru clans, in theaftermath of the Battle of the Ten Kings . [3] [7]
With their center of powerin the Kurukshetra region, the Kurus formed the first
political center of the Vedic period, andwere dominant roughly from 1200 to 800
BCE. Thefirst Kuru capital was at Āsandīvat, [3] identified with modern Assandh
inHaryana . [8] [9] Later literature refers to Indraprastha (identified
withmodern Delhi )and Hastinapura as the main Kuru cities. [3]

TheKurus figure prominently in Vedic literature after the time of the Rigveda
.The Kurus here appear asa branch of theearly Indo-Aryans, ruling the
Ganga-Yamuna Doab and modern Haryana. The focus in the later Vedic period
shifted out of Punjab, into the Haryana andthe Doab, and thus to the Kuru clan.
[10] This trend corresponds to theincreasing number and size of Painted Grey
Ware (PGW) settlements in theHaryana and Doab area. Archaeological surveys of
the Kurukshetra District havea revealed a more complex (albeit not yet fully
urbanized) three-tieredhierarchy for the period of period from 1000 to 600 BCE,
suggesting a complexchiefdom or emerging early state, contrasting with the
two-tiered settlementpattern (with some "modest central places", suggesting the
existenceof simple chiefdoms ) in the rest

Thiswas also the oldest kingdom whose coins we have now. This is the
silvercurrency that is a little disfigured now after 3000 years.

The current date assigned to the Kuru kingdom is to 1200BCE, although I believe
it could be much older than that.In Bhagwanpur near Kurkshetra (the place of
the Mahabharata war) there areruins of circa 1500 BCE palaces. Here, artifacts
of Indus Valley culture andthe Aryan PGW culture of the same period are found
side by side.

Given that we are now unearthing Harappan and Aryancivilization ones of the
same period in the same location, it is quite possiblethat we will be
identifying the missing link thatcould alter the way we look at Indian
civilization. It is likely that we arenot looking at two independent
civilizations.

At this point, the Kuru kingdom dated to the 1200 BCE isthe oldest agreed
Indian kingdom.
