BEING  ACOMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            How is it possible for new windowair conditioners to not drip any
water?

A1            Gopala Krishnan, Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

I am from India.95% of window AC are replaced with split AC and shops have
either inverter ACor split AC for sale. Drippingof condensed liquid is a
feature of these AC unit. Normally it is taken downthrough flexible PVC pipe.
In homes it is permitted to fall down. Inflats I have seen many collecting it
in bucket and poured in waste water line.

When the AC unitsare new this condensation is more.

Q2            Are there any other fully bipedalmammals? If no, why are humans
the only ones that have evolved bipedallism?

A2            Claire Jordan,Degree in biology andfolklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaperJun 23

There are lots ofbipedal animals - all birds, kangaroos, jerboas etc. Humans
and penguins are the only ones whohabitually stand completely upright. It’s not
a very efficient wayof doing it - it’s far more efficient to sling the body
horizontally at thehip, like ostriches.

I’m not sure why penguins stand bolt upright, but humansdo it because we
evolved from primates who brachiated - that is, hung below thebranches from
their hands - so we evolved from primateswho had already adapted to have their
shoulders directly above their hips.

Q3            What do you think about IRCTC's decisionto charge for luggage and
levy penalties for carrying extra baggage on trains, just like airlines?

A3    Prasanna Bhalerao, Knows about trains.Jun 26

I think charging extra for excess baggage is a good idea. Some people in India
seem to travel with their home at times on the train. Thenthey ask, “Bhaisahab,
jara adjust kar lijiye, please“.

My note- Now thecoaches are compact, able to carry small luggages. My
suggestion  is tocarry  extra luggage in a separate coachand permit  passengers
going out with ID in luggage andticket tally.

Q4            Do mosquitoes drink water the sameway they drink blood?

A4            Ken Saladin, Textbook author andprofessor emeritus Tue

They drink water, but they don’t have to stab the skin ofa host to get it. They
drink from rain and dew on plants, from muddy soil, from animal sweat, and from
standing bodies of water. Males,of course, also drink water, and they never
drink blood.

Q5            How do you clean potable waterpipes?

A5            Steve Smith Retired M&E Engineerin ukJun 26

You disconnect the water pipes cap off one end and fillthem with a propriety
cleaning fluid for new potable water pipes leave for therecommended time and
thoroughly flush out beforeputting I into use

Q6            Did medieval people eat dinner late?

A6            Alice Twain, Eating and cooking for40 years. Jun 4

Most didn’t eat dinner. Neither they ate breakfast andlunch. As a matter
offacts they often didn’t follow the three-meal pattern. In northern Europe
people ate ona two-meal pattern. They had a main meal around midmorning, and a
secondarymeal in mid afternoon. Why? Because of this.Yes, that is ahandy-dandy
light switch. You press on the button and a bright electric lightgoes on. I
have one on in the room I am writing right now. I can reach over andturn it off
when I want. What happens when I turn it off? All light goes away.I need to
find my slippers by feel, and to walk carefully least I bump intosome object.
Medieval houses (but also modern houses and early contemporaryhouses) were dark
at night. And I mean seriously dark.

The rich could afford candles, which were outrageouslyexpensive. Even the rich
used as few candles as possiblebecause they were so expensive. The others had
rush lights and oil lanterns, which were less costly because they could be
handmade and used old fat as theirfuel, but shed even less light and
(especially the rusk lights) sputtered andburned fast. This madeit nearly
impossible to cook after sunset, and quite hard to eat after sunset.

For the most partpeople made good use of the sun light, eating the first meal
of the day afterjust about long enough as it took to cook a full meal from
scratch, so say 3hours after dawn (don’t forget they had to first rebuild the
fire), and thelast meal of the day ought to end early enough to allow people to
finish eatingwhile there was still light enough. Sometimes the rich could
afford organizinga party that extended past sunset. Serving food after it got
dark wasconsidered very sophisticated for the simple reason that it would cost
a lot toburn enough candles and lanterns to create enough light to allow
eating. Andeven so the light was far from bring bright. Go to your room, close
the door, and turn off all lights except you reading light. That small light
would havebeen very bright by premodern standards, and it is still where people
don’thave a supply of electric light.

My note- In South India most homes  just warm food prepared in the
afternoon.Preparing afresh is rare.

Q7            What is the process to bring waterto dry land?

A7            Cyril Babiyan Employee at OmegaHealthcare (2021–present) 6mo

Dry farming, also called Dryland Farming, thecultivation of crops without
irrigation in regions of limited moisture, typically less than 20 inches (50
centimetres) of precipitation annually. ...Moisture control during crop growing
consists largely of destruction of weedsand prevention of runoff.

Q8            As we all know there is water underland. Then why doesn't land
sink in water?

A8            Sonali Sharma Ph.D - ResearchScholar at Jawaharlal Nehru
University (2018–present)4y

Because densityof land is much lesser than that of oceanic water.

Lets get understoodby this example

Why don’t a plasticball get immersed in water instead keeps on floating in a
bucket. on theanother hand if you keep a leather ball it will get sunk cause of
its heavyweight. Continental crust is lighter than oceanic one.

So basically we allare safe.Keep exploring.Have a great day and a day full of
smiles and laughter:-)

Q9            What are the differences betweenland and water?

A9            Naraina Group of Institution,Livesin Naraina Group of
Institutions (2000–present)7mo

Land is solidwith a fixed shape. Water is a fluid; it easily changes shape to
fit whateverspace contains it. Although we think of land as being"dry", land,
or solid material is actually continuous underneath allbodies of water. Lakes,
rivers, and oceans actually cover land.

My note- Though we studied liquids take the shapeof  vessel it contains. But
when hot coffee/teais cooled by pouring from a height, it takes a straight line
path while in air.For further  thinking ….

Q10         What process does water move from waterto land?

A10          Un Known,Studies Chartered Accountants(CA) (Expected 2024)Apr 3

In short, Precipitation is one of many ways water is cycledfrom the atmosphere
to the Earth or ocean. Evaporation, condensation, andprecipitation are
important parts of the water cycle. However, theyare not the only ones. Runoff,
for instance, describes a variety of ways liquidwater moves across land.
