BEING  ACOMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            Why is the life expectancy of peoplein the United States lower
than most developed countries?

A1            Ernest W. Adams,Lived in The UnitedStates of America
(1966–1999)Fri

They have universal health care, which means freepre-natal care and health care
for children. Many Americans are too poor to take their children to thedoctor,
and treatable diseases are caught too late (or never). The United States also
has lunatic sectslike the Christian Scientists, who avoid medicine and treat
disease as a signof sin.

Q2            Are we born with all our bloodcells, or do they make new ones as
we need them?

A2            Ken Saladin,Former professor ofhistology (microscopic anatomy)Sat

Blood cells don’t live very long. The life span of redblood cells is ~120 days.
Platelets live for 5 to 10 days. White blood cellshave life spans of 8–13 days
(granulocytes: theneutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils), a few years
(monocytes–macrophages),and in some cases decades (some lymphocytes: B and T
memory cells).

But none last for a lifetime, so blood cells have a veryhigh rate of turnover.
Every second of every day, we produce more than1,000,000 new red blood cells,
about 1,700,000 new white blood cells, and aboutthe latter number of platelets
as well. White cellproduction varies a lot with the body’s physiological
state—infections, allergies, other immune challenges, menstruation, etc.

Q3            What is the absolute daily maximumof carbohydrates a person can
consume healthily?

A3            Ranndy Smith,Jun 16

How manycarbohydrates do you need?

Depending on yourage, gender, activity level, and overall health, your
carbohydrate needs willvary. According to theMayo Clinic, 45 to 65 percent of
your daily calories should come fromcarbohydrates. That equates to 225 to 325
grams of carbohydrates if you eat2,000 calories a day.

So, how many gramsof carbs a day do you really need? It depends on your health
goals and bodytype. In a normal, healthy diet, you want carbohydrates to be
about 40 percent of your totalcalories - that's what an active person does.

You may like :Baobab pancakes with almond butter filling Recipe- Healthy
Breakfast

When you are busy, about 40 percent of your calories should come from carbs,
some 30 percent fromprotein and another 30 percent from fat usually - this has
the added benefit ofhelping prevent arteriosclerosis. Some people may consume a
large percentage ofhealthy fats if the goal is to be a fat burner. If you are
really trying togain muscle, you may need extra grams of protein a day as well.

Generally, how many grams of carbohydrates a day youshould eat will be between
500 to 800 calories from carbohydrates, and that isusually about 150 to 200
grams of carbohydrates per day- 200 maximum and low 120, which may be good for
many who are trying to reduce. So when you count your carbohydrates, 120 to 200
grams for most people is goodwhen it comes to burning fat and general health.

Q4            Is washing machine water good forplants?

A4            Dr. Factrox Referred books on botanyand Plant Biology May 31

This is a goodquestion, but unfortunately, it does not have adefinite answer.
There are two points to think about before making a decision.

Washing machine water contains:

Phosphates (Sometimes) that help in the growth of plants

Detergents, are toxins and do not aid the growth of plants

So, it's better notto take any risks. but if you think the detergent level is
too mild, then youmake the go-ahead by experimenting with a few plants. and if
that works out, continue for the rest.

My note- I have planted coconut tree by the side of sockpit to which bathwater
and  washingmachine outlet water go. The tree is well growing. Thetree is
mainly to absorb water from sockpit.

Q5            Will the Empire State Building everbe demolished?

A5            Steven Haddock, LL.B. degree, 25years in litigation,
administrative law, collections, bankrupty andprofessional regulation19h

Probably not. It’s really well built (stainless steel onbrick masonry on
structural steel girders) so tearing it down will be prettydamn expensive. It
pretty much takes up all theallowable density on its site so it’s not like
putting up another building willgive you more rentable space. Its observation
deck is still immenselyprofitable even if office rents aren’t moving much
lately. It’s in tremendousshape for a 90 year old building and older buildings
that high are stillprofitable as well (like the Chrysler Building and the
Woolworth Building).

Never say never though. New York is also home to some ofthe largest structures
that have ever been demolished.

Q6            Is a diesel train more powerful thanan electric train?

Q6            Jean-Yves Landry, Owner at JYL FarmLLC (2012–present)5h

All the most powerful locomotive are electric.

Exception for afuel powered train, the most powerful is operating a
“turbine”/”Electric” powerplant, not a diesel engine. Russia — GT1s — 11,130
Horsepower

All the others are electric.

China - Shen-24 at28.8 MW or 38,621 horsepower is the biggest one.

Russia - 2ES10S(3ES10) — 17,701 horsepower

Russia - 4E5K —17,594 horsepower.

Germany — DB Class103 — 9,977 horsepower or 7440 kW.

Swedish —Bombardier IORE — 14,483 horsepower

Q7            How much profit is there in coconutfarms in South India?

A7            Gautham Sampath Knows Tamil Sat

It depends onvarious factors.

I will answer aboutthe profit what my Uncle gets from his 1 acre farm.

Basically I am fromTamil Nadu and my native is near Ambur(Vellore District of
Tamil Nadu) thefoothills of Eastern Ghats and coconut farms are common in my
region( Thepractise of coconut farms is just bloomed only before 30 to 40 years
agobecause the Palar river went dry and before that only paddy and sugarcane
wascultivated ).

Coconut farming is profitable only if you have good amountof land and the
growth of coconuts is good depending upon the soil and thewater( Naturally only
some regions in Southern Indiaare good to grow Coconuts like Coastal Kerala and
Karnataka, Tumkur region ofKarnataka,Western and Northern districts of Tamil
Nadu that has western andeastern Ghats,Godavari-Coastal region of Andhra
Pradesh).

In our region normally well irrigation is done for coconutfarms(Some regions of
Southern India are naturally gifted with rivers)-Ifyou own wells and water is
abundant then its good-My Uncle and our relativeshave their own well where they
use the water. Some people who don’t have wellshave to buy water on an hourly
rate like 100 Rs per hour on the motor run.

Again having lands in important- My Uncle just has 1 acreof land and he has 100
trees-This is the maximum amount of coconut trees oneacre of land can hold.

Once in 3 months, aVettu is done(Vettu is a Tamil term means harvesting of
coconuts) where he sellsof the coconuts for 25K and like this once a year 4
Vettu’s is done-That means he earns only 1 lakhfor 1 acre of farm as of today.
He flows the water into the farmtwice a month and also only once a year he uses
fertilizers. Coconut farms arenot much prone to diseases.

But thesize of the coconut we harvest is smaller when compared to what grows in
Keralaor Tumkur of western regionsof Tamil Nadu - Actually coconut farming is
good for lazy farmers who don’twant to spend much time in mud but want some
profit from the agricultural landthey have.

Some of my relatives have 3 or 5 or 7 acres and they alsodo coconut farming!

Apart from thecoconut we harvest, farmers sell the the coconut leaves to women
or labourersfor weaving ( 1 leaf isjust 1 Rs) and some people sell the leaves
for making coconutbroomsticks which again the earning is too low.

Some farmers plant Deevana Pill( Cattle Grass) in themiddle if coconut trees
and sell it for Cattle owners.

Though theinvestment is less, the profit we get depends on the quality of the
coconut, thesoil, water and more importantly the area of the farm-Farming is
good only ifyou have good amount of land and water other wise its of no use!

My note-In Chennai, tender coconut is priced above Rs 50-00 and bigger size
coconuts@Rs 30-00 only now. Person climbing a tree has to be paid Rs 100—00 or
more pertree.

Q8            What are your short rules for abetter life?

A8            Awdhesh Singh Author: 31 Ways toHappiness| IITian| Director at
Awdhesh Academy (2018–present)Jun 26

My short rules oflife are as follows,

Mind your ownbusiness. So, don’t interfere in anyone’s affair, nor allow others
to interferein your life.

The most importantgoal of life is happiness. So, do what you love to do.

There is no incomegap, but only a skill gap. So, constantly update your skill
for a better life.

Money is necessary, but not a sufficient condition for happiness. So, earn just
enough, but focuson living life fully every single day.

Love is reciprocal. So, if you want love from others, learn to love others.

Love without actionwithers away. So, spend time with your loved ones and take
care of them.

The habit of savingis the path to independence. So, save regularly, however
less your income is,to achieve your independence as soon as you can.

There is nohappiness without freedom of thought. So, allow your mind to think
freely,rationally and logically.

Right knowledgeleads to the right life. So, acquire the right knowledge from
reliable sources.

What is popular isnever true. So, never follow the masses and popular myths.

Books are human’sbest friends. So, develop the habit of reading books. They
will always give youyour company and never ditch you.

Friends are human’sbest gift. So, create few but good friends, and do
everything to make yourfriendship stronger.

Never forget thatyour parents have given you the gift of life. So, respect and
care for yourparents, even if they are not the best parents.

The best source oftrue knowledge is experience. So, don’t rely on second-hand
knowledge, butpractice it to know its authenticity.

Emotions aresubjective and mostly misguide people. So, think rationally and
never be aslave of emotions.

Nothing grows in comfortzones. So, if you wish to grow, leave your comfort zone
regularly to ventureout and find the pearls of living.

You don’t grow old.You become old, when you stop growing. So, always do new
things, learn newthings and keep growing in life.

Simple living highthinking. So, if you wish to grow intellectually, simplify
your life as much asyou can.

You can never teachthe right things to fools. So, don’t engage in arguments
with fools and avoidtheir company as much as you can.

There is no helland heaven outside this world. So, try to make the best life
here in this worlditself and don’t waste your life chasing great things in
afterlife.

Finally, you arethe maker of your own life.

So, only by following the right rules in your life, youcan create a better life
for yourself.

Q9            If humans used to have tails, whydid they drop off?

A9            Claire Jordan,Degree in biology andfolklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaperJun 19

Basal catarrhinesand both sorts of monkey had tails, but apes lostthem, about
25 million years ago, and we are apes. They may havejust been an inconvenience.
Monkeys climb by running along the tops of branchesor grappling them, and use
their tails for balance, but apes tend to brachiate (swing underneath the branch
by their hands). Havingtails must have made brachiation less efficient. As to
why we becamebrachiators, it may be because it enabled apes to get bigger -
there’s moreroom below the branches than amongst them. The only really big
monkeys live onthe ground and don’t climb much.

Q10         Why did dogs become pets and acceptedindoors considering their
uncleanliness?

A10          Ernest W. Adams,Game designconsultant, author and professor Jun 21

They're not significantly less clean than humans livingin caves or the jungle.
The idea that they are uncleanseems to be a Middle Eastern notion because they
are scavengers. But humans discovered that they wereuseful because they killed
rats, barked at strangers, and could be trained tohelp hunt. If they were
dirty, they could be given a bath.
