LEFT HANDED A look in toleft hand more use by people.
There are somedrawbacks for left handed people. Whatever the culture has developed, a personserving food with left hand is least appreciated. At the same time, whilefamily sitting together and right hand is used for eating, left hand is used byany member to take food item for himself or to serve to anybody near. It can be either in floor or on dining table. Probablyon account of this during feasts in a family a few serve others and they areserved by those who finished meals. Just think ofa person serving any food item with left hand in a feast. It is annoying. If he works in a kitchen and using left handeasily it is not noted by many. Consider anoccasion of srardha. Though both hands are used during the function, among Brahminsserving by a lady left handed is least preferred. Just think of the kartha’swife is left handed… But there arecertain fields where left hand and right hand are used together as in a sewingmachine. No person gets annoyed at a tailor till he/she stitch an item usingboth hands. But after stitching if he or she pack and give it with left hand? A busconductor cannot issue tickets to passengers without using both hands. Just think ofan occasion of giving wedding invitation or giving compliments using left hand.I could not control my laugh of thinking about a sasthrikal left handed. Mostlyhe will keep an assistant with right handed to accomplish things. For preparingpayasam the grated coconut is ground and made to the size of a medium ball by using bothhands for squeezing if coconut milk from supermarket is not used. But in thenormal manual grater the halved coconut is held by both hands. If at all withmechanical and electrical graters, left hand is used for holding and right handis used to adjust the position of plate etc. The electrical equipment isdesigned for holding halved coconut with left hand. If Iam correct just like the LPG stove, in which gas tube can be connected toeither left side or right side, the change is not implemented in the electricalgrater. At one time LPG stoves came with gas tube connection in the centre. The bestmethod for squeezing ground coconut flour is holding the ground coconut ballwith both hands. I recollectthe old story of a person took up quarrel with a coconut scrapping person. Asthe quarrel grew, the coconut scrapping person said- I will blow you with thecoconut scrapper, mostly using both hands to blow. For drawing linesin a paper to hold the ruler /scale with one hand and pencil/pen with otherhand. After putting a letter in a cover,paste is applied with gum using bothhands pasted using both hands. Using a single hand will not be perfect. For using acrowbar, a powrah or an axe both the hands are required. But for using a knifeto cut a small tree branch, force is required in one hand. Many will hold thesecond hand for holding the branch as a practice. Though scissors and saucepans are designed forright handed people, left handed also use, scissors with lesser difficulty, andsauce pan with more difficulty, Sauce pan cannot be hold and liquid contents transferredto another without spilling using left hand by the left handed people. There arepeople who use left hand more active for writing etc. If at all the teachers insistthem in child hood for writing using right hand, they would find it difficult. Theycontinue writing with left hand, though the documents are prepared for writingwith right hand. In short with peoplewho are right handed it will be more active. Similarly with left handed people. A person isright handed or left handed can normally observed from the way they hold abrief case, a bag, an umbrella , a walking stick or mobile phone.
