Pranam
Though you wrote it long back yet the repeat is thoughtful and wellknit.
Leave it the turkey towel; since when did we use the towels or tundus?. I
had heard from yester generations that both male and female, used to go to
the padithurai, immerse in the river water with the old dress; and male
will climb up change the kaupeenam; then swap the head with the dhoti and
change to another; the ladies will walk along drying their head in half
measures in wet clothes and water in the Kudam; change to new dress in the
home. Male and female bathing spots were understood and taught to them. So
towels and kasi thundus should have been well within 150 years. Turkey is
very recent only in our times. Office protocol of placing towels on the
chair and placing none for clerks and placing too many as the room becomes
bigger are also protocol. I used to have 6 or 7 towels in my room apart
from a few napkins changed every monday. But I never used any of them. Asd
they were hung so they were removed. One thing; new turkey towels will not
remove the wetness over the head; and the used ones will also not remove
the water content. Kasi thundu is the best. I knew it since at home I use
them. But while sitting on the floor , if you lay them underneath the feet
, it will cushion your feet. KR IRS 8822
