SUN’S ANGLE OF INCIDENCE
WHAT DOES SCIENCE SAY?
1 The angle detrmines the quanta of photos; because the area covered
is the basis. Sun intensity refers to the amount of incoming solar energy,
or radiation, that reaches the Earth’s surface. The angle at which the rays
from the sun hit the Earth determines this intensity. The sun’s angle --
and hence intensity -- varies significantly depending on a particular
spot’s geographic location, the time of year, and the time of day.
2 Angle of Incidence
The angle formed by rays of sunlight hitting the Earth is technically known
as the angle of incidence. Rays striking the planet’s surface from directly
overhead -- that is, at a 90 degree angle measured from the horizon -- are
the most intense. At most times and locations, the sun forms an angle with
the horizon less than 90 degrees -- that is, usually the sun sits lower in
the sky.
The smaller the angle, the greater the surface area over which the sun’s
rays spread. This effect reduces the sun’s intensity in any one place. For
example, at a 45 degree angle of incidence, solar radiation covers a 40
percent greater area and is 30 percent less intense than at the maximum
angle of incidence of 90 degrees.
3 Latitudinal Variation
Only locations lying along one line of latitude on the surface of the Earth
can receive sunlight at a 90 degree angle on a given day. All other places
receive sunlight at lesser intensities. In general, the sun’s rays are the
most intense at the equator and the least intense at the poles. On an
average yearly basis, areas north of the Arctic Circle receive only about
40 percent as much solar radiation as equatorial regions.
Relationship to Seasons
Fluctuations in the intensity and duration of solar energy in a particular
area determine that area’s seasons. These fluctuations are dictated by the
way the Earth is tilted on its axis. With respect to the plane of rotation
around the sun, the Earth slants at a 23.5 degree angle, meaning that at
certain points during its orbit, the Northern Hemisphere faces the sun
moreso than the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. For example, at the
summer solstice, the Northern Hemisphere faces the sun at maximum tilt, so
the sun’s rays strike 23.5 degrees north latitude -- the Tropic of Cancer
-- at a 90 degree angle.
Whichever hemisphere tilts further toward the sun receives a larger
percentage of solar radiation than the opposing hemisphere. The former
hemisphere experiences summer at this time, while the latter experiences
winter. In the hemisphere experiencing summer, the sun rises higher in the
sky and is more intense; its rays strike the ground at a higher angle than
in the hemisphere experiencing winter. This explains why the risk of
sunburn is greatest in summertime. It also explains why temperatures are
warmest in summertime, since the sun delivers heat energy.
4 Time of Day
Regardless of latitude or time of year, the sun’s angle reaches closest to
90 degrees -- and is therefore at its most intense -- at the midpoint of
the day: noon. At this time, the sun is said to have attained its zenith,
or highest point. During daylight saving time, the sun is at its greatest
angle and most intense at 1 p.m., due to the manmade one-hour offset from
true solar time.
5 All goal directed behavior is performed within the broad context of the
perception-action cycle, which is grounded on a basic biological principle:
the circular cybernetic flow of cognitive information that links the
organism to its environment. In general, the posterior brain areas handle
sensory perception such as seeing and hearing, while the more frontal brain
regions are in charge of motor skills, planning and decision-making. The
front and back of the brain work together, with information flowing between
them.
6 Before we make a decision or take action, the prefrontal cortex is
involved in considering both the information it is receiving from the back
of the brain (perceptions), as well as stored memories or experiences that
relate to it. The prefrontal cortex helps make a prediction of what will
happen and initiates the appropriate body movement.
As the brain perceives the result of the action made by the body, it either
reinforces the brain’s existing neural networks of understanding about how
the world works, or begins to create new ones. The perception-action cycle
is this continuous flow of information and action between the brain and the
world around it. On and on it goes: sense, predict, act, adjust. Sense,
predict, act, adjust. ( If my memory is correct Jonathan has written a
book).
7 WHAT DOES VEDAS SAY?
According to Vedic cosmology, the sun is considered the entry point
of space. The sun and the planets are similar to a rider and his horses.
The sun is the superior one- the rider who controls the horses with the
reigns. Here, the reigns represent the rays of the sun.
The rider controls his horses and limits their movements. Just like that,
the sun limits the movements of the planets with its “*Rashmi*”. That can
be understood now as the gravitational field of the sun.
The *Vedas* also state that the sun is the central force governing the
motion of the planets. However, the planets do not revolve in a circular
orbit which was later proved to be correct. Because the planets move in an
elliptical or an oval orbit. The planets move around the sun because the
sun is the heaviest component of the solar system. Hence it has the
strongest gravitational force.
It is the power of the sun that holds the planets in their orbits.
Moreover, this power prevents them from colliding with each other.
*Rigveda * <https://www.vibeindian.in/hidden-science/vedas/>says “*the
speed of planets is inversely related to the distance of the planets from
the sun*”. This can be proved by Newton’s Second Law of Motion. This is in
perfect coordination with Newton’s Law of Gravitation and Kepler’s Law of
Planetary Motion. The modern discoveries are proof of the Vedic verse
mentioned in the *Rigveda*.
Similarly, according to *Surya Siddhanta, *the measuring unit *yojana* is
approximately five miles in modern calculations. In *Surya Siddhanta, *the
diameter of the moon is 2400 miles which is very close to the modern
calculation of 2160 miles. The text also predicted the distance between the
earth and the moon.
*The Vedic predicted distance between the earth and the moon is 258000
miles and the modern distance is 238900 miles.*
The creation of the universe in Vedas has been explained in the 129th hymn
of the 10th mandala of the Rigveda. It also gives us an insight into the
age of the universe according to Vedas.
The connection between the mind and the bigger, outer world goes way back
to *Atharvaveda*. According to *Atharvaveda*, our bodies have
*chakras* parallel
to our spinal cord. The proper stimulation of these *chakras* through
meditation can make the person aware of his position in the vast universe.
In this state of higher consciousness, the mind is closer to grasping the
nature of the universe. In simpler words, a differentiation can be
experienced between the physical body and the spiritual mind. The spiritual
mind is placed on the pedestal and the physical body which is made from the
five basic *tattvas*: earth, water, fire, air, and space, returns to its
raw state.

1 The earth moves by the SUN movement and attraction as if a horse is
trained holding the rope lose around a circle. This would show how the
perception apparently is believed to have been bent.

Sun’s angle of incidence is so important to make all others orbit in spite
of the attractions, without collisions.
